after a short break in releases, plastik people are back with the third installment of the various people. we see label owner marc cotterell up first with his slice of 90 s house music, incorperating slick grooves and catchy cut up vocals, along side mark on side a, a new addition to the plastik people family from london, charles caliber, who graces the ep with a stunning soulful house groove called moving on. on the flip side nyc artist doug gomez brings us a classic sounding, deep head nodding track which was originally releases on frole records and we loved it so much that we decided it needed a vinyl releases, to round off the release, we are very pleased to have mikki funk back on plastik people. he delivers us a splendid cut of uk garage, mikki funk has also previously released on rm records and music is love.

nice price deal !!! originally from outside boston, incyde first became involved in electronic music through his work at hotflush recordings while living in london on a university work program in 2007, where he began playing at clubs and radio shows around the citys thriving dubstep scene. in 2008 he moved to new york city and became a resident deejay of the nation s founding dubstep event, dub war, where he developed a reputation for his tasteful selection and genre-bending explorations into bass music. progressively focusing more energy on enhancing his sets, his productions were first met with support by mary anne hobbs of bbc radio 1 and scuba in 2010. his debut axis was released on hotflush s back and 4th compilation in april 2011. as a producer this is only the beginning of incyde s path, as he melts and reshapes broken beats and bass into his own signature concoctions. if otherworldly futuristic beat & bass explorations are what you are after, look no further.

nice price deal !!! all out war is a new label from richard hardcastle aka solid state, based in sheffield, uk. richard is known for his product of society edits on society recs, and work on toko, guidance, primitive and cookhouse recs in the late 90s/early 00s. the first all out war release is prisoners of wax vol 1, new edits by solid state, mastered for vinyl by warp legend rob gordon here in sheffield. the disco elements that marked their first 3 society releases are back in full effect... a: america - a radical extension of a french track from 1978, complete with fierce bass and guitar riffs, scything strings and urgent vocals plus police sirens for added drama... all out disco war! aa1: shortwave radiation - tames a once sprawling, 9 minute plus synth strumental behemoth. this 6 1/2 minute version lowers the tempo and cuts the flabbier excesses of the original to produce a far leaner, fitter space monster. aa2: if u love me started life as a quaint little spanish number in 1977. this version ditches the verses, allowing the intro and chorus to take centre stage. the resulting track has a hypnotic, spacey atmosphere... a quiet storm!

culled over the naïve bedroom sessions of early university, �chillax� is akin to blaring an extra hot mixtape from a junky deck in your car on your way to cape canaveral to see the last space shuttle leave earth, all while trying to speed run kirby�s dream land on your sister�s gameboy color.
heavy sampling tends to drive this jeep and give it some character, many popular/unknown gems lifted from various dusty tapes and wax procured from thrift stores and vinyl throughout northern florida, cheap drum machines are clumsily slammed against it all and keep everything in a familiarly dance-y zone, while amateur chords and melodies are provided via guitar center synths and youtube ripped commodore 64 blips and stabs (note the cheeky nintendo voices as outliers). a fusion of analog discoveries and pixelated memories (melded together by the relentless florida heat), its an apt soundtrack for long and wistful road trips.

after spending the majority of 2009 in hollywood, chanes briefly returned home to finish up songs for what would become his 2010 release, an experimentation in instrumentation. the 15-track tape, presented by house shoes, exposed us all to the nomadic 21-year-old producer from canton, michigan. chanes would spend the next two years working between home and brooklyn, before relocating to arizona, where he would release his follow up project, renegade hands, (insect records 2013). presented again by shoes, hands solidified chanes as one of the most promising young producers in the country.
fast-forward to 2016, and at 27, this self-titled debut takes us circa 2007 - 2009 with the soul-chopping salad days of his mother s basement, through the alternative sampling williamsburg, brooklyn sessions of 2010. if the melancholy desert psychedelia of his isolated four years in perpetual southwestern summer gives us a glimpse into his growing electronic influences, then the angst of his winter homecomings are hiding under the aggressive parka weather beats that first caught the attention of detroit�s underground.
fittingly, chanes� debut lp comes full circle, finishing the album back in the place it all started and releasing it with long-time supporter house shoes and street corner music.
