outstanding new release for the markantonios mkt record! the alter ego of neapolitan producer launches to the funky minimal world a new ep created by young roberto capuano, a guy coming from campania too. the track got you is really funny, a genre that should be defined clickyfunkytechhouse, with a bouncing beat and addition of sounds and voices like in a videogame. it appears more determined the track hoffnung: what are more striking are the restarts! really difficult to stand still listening it. instead evokes old style jackpot, but in his path wetsuit repeatedly, evolving in a track with modern and sought sounds and catchy melodies

sweet 16 is a perfectly judged slice of disco punk, producer grahmzilla hooking up a beat which sounds like the clash hanging out at studio 54 while isis tells of the joys and dangers of being sixteen and ruling the dancefloor. its not clear whether the natural stage genius (time out) is encouraging under age sex, cautioning against it or just suggesting engaging in some healthy exhibitionism. whatever the message she makes it sound great. cruise low is as low slung and bass heavy as you d expect from the title, isis whispering about popping the trunk with a mixture of enticement and threat. bonus track whateveruneed is an epic instrumental electro symphony from grahmzillas hard drive. ny mover and shaker eli escobar rounds out the package with a mix of sweet 16 which harks all the way back to planet rock...

there is no doubt that leipzig is a pulsating place in terms of electronic music. however, the potential of the city seems to be experiencing a new surge - not least due to up-and-coming producers like sven tasnadi and stefan schultz aka juno6. both belong to the generation of musicians who initially released their tracks for free on net-labels but have since have made the leap to vinyl. while sven tasnadi has already released great eps on liebe*detail, smallville records and of course on cargo edition, juno6 just recently made his debut with >salamis< in spring 2008 on broque. now they have joined forces with their first collaboration for cargo edition. both tracks on the ep are characterised by elaborate rhythms, a special deepness and intricately arranged sounds. >aramis< tells apparently different stories which merge seamlessly during its 14 minutes. the track also explores the hypnotic moments on the dancefloor in a very subtle and complex manner - reduced but full of vibrancy at the same time. >genau so< on the b-side takes a similar line, but adds a spark of funk, which combines to form its distinctive rhythm. sven tasnadi & juno6 have created two modern house tracks which are full of character.
