mutant clan is the name of the new project from timo maas and santos. these boys have really come back with a bang, havent they? having been a fan of santos productions and sound, timo arranged for some studio time together, and the rest as they say.... >inside< is a real moody bitch. with its phat planetesq bassline (not a bad thing, im sure youll agree!), rolling drums and deep ass d base, its one hell of a groove. >outside < is definitely the older, more rebellious, troublesome brother: a darker affair that growls at you from its opening bars, sounds and efx thrown at you from out of darkness. it really is a wonderfully constructed track. once again, maas and santos (aka mutant clan) deliver the goods in the finest way possible and once again, dubfire and sci+tec bring you some of the finest techno around today. a true match made in heaven

just a few minutes till impact. final approach, three, two, one… stephan bodzin and marc romboy aint no astronauts. they are first and foremost musicians, producers and long time friends. both would admit that arguing and talking music is as important as making it. together with their own long running imprints, systematic recordings and herzblut recordings, they have proven how to build up a distinct label sound. however, similar to some well-known astronauts, the word >luna< has a very special meaning to the musicians because its the name of marcs daughter and coincedently that of stephans wife as well. therefore it had been the obvious choice when they were looking for a fitting title name back in 2005. six years on, and the project nears its final touchdown and is honored with a an outstanding vinyl-set of six records!!! 16 different producers from all over the world take you to a musical orbit, starting in germany with moritz von oswald (basic channel, rhythm & sound), dominik eulberg, chris liebing, oliver huntemann, martin buttrich (desolat), roman flügel (dial) und robag wruhme (pampa records), continuing with speedy j (plus 8) from the netherlands, minilogue from sweden and even abe duque and brendon moeller from new york from the u.s.a.. an electronic transmission from the moon to the earth takes a little more than one second to cover the distance. but when listening to >luna<, you wont dare to think in minutes or seconds ignition sequence start, trois, deux, unité!

incl mutant clan & timo maas rmxs! the rhythm monks are masters of trance, searching to understand the fundamental essence of the drum. they are technicians of ecstacy. modern shamans. mystics. the song primal beat is based on a rhythm popular in the siguiri, kankan and kouroussa regions of africa. it was traditionally played to settle disputes among the men of the village. the two in conflict would dance the doundoumba in the bara among the village people. this would ensure the safety of the competition which lasts from dusk to dawn. for this track, the rhythm monks have joined forces with their friend and vocalist barbara panther.
