the third and final part of the jacob f. desvarieux anthology on endless flight brings two more hot productions of the fabled french zouk veteran with roots in guadeloupe. the tune “rifyx” is taken from desvarieux’s 1985 album “oh madiana” and delivers arresting jazz-funk and zouk-suspense enlarged with touching horns, synth-enthusiasm and longing female vocals. the second song comes from the paris based, west cameroon born singer tala, produced by desvarieux for tala’s album “mother africa” in 1982. also here desvarieux tuned the synthesizers odd and edgy to let them dance with an afro styled rhythm. above all tala sings sexy with a chorus of girls while percussions go crazy and the sounds of horns are longing for the sky. on top of everything endless flight asked again the japanese producer kuniyuik to edit a desvarieux track. he chose “rifyx” and tuned it into an epic soulful eight minutes long dream house anthem that funks all dancers crazy. hotter than hot stuff here!

samaris release silkidrangar sessions ist ein nachfolger und begleiter des letztjährigfen albumdebüts silkidrangar und beinhaltet überarbeitete versionen des originals, welche nun exakt ein jahr später veröffentlicht werden. samaris vereinen sehr ungleiche elemente in ihrer musik, die von elektronischen sounds, über klarinette bis hin zu jófríður Ákadóttirs bezaubernder stimme reichen. samaris mischen kalte elektronik mit gewagten, perkussiven beats und eindringlichen vocals, welche isländischen gedichten des 19. jahrhunderts entnommen wurden. einen großteil des letzten jahres verbrachte die band auf tour und spielte festivals wie roskilde, green man, reeperbahn, longitude, etc. die silkidrangar sessions wurden über zwei tage in reykjavík aufgenommen, und es wurden diverse gastmusiker eingeladen, welche instrumente wie tabla drums, cello, saxophon oder modulare synthesizer einbrachten.

around 1980 menko konings (em.) started the dutch underground formation s.m. nurse, first together with jos jak and later also with anneke stempher. s.m. nurse experimented with collage-like music and were inspired by n.y.-ultra, disco e.g. the band mainly performed in the amsterdam ultra-circuit (oktopus, paradiso), clubs and discotheques. they were played regularly on the famous radio programmes radionome and spleen and performed live on radio in the villa of the vpro in hilversum. they also contributed to the theme cassette turkish delight of the label ding dong and there was a cassette release on the label top tape. at the end of 1983, s.m. nurse split up.<vr />limited edition of 500 copies.
