U CAN GET SONAR
12 Inch
29.04.08
pure hypnotic dope ! the 12inch opens with a blast of superlative dancefloor funk, >u can get sonar<. its immediately obvious that this track is the creation of someone who knows - as a fan, dj, record-seller and musician - what works on the dancefloor, what sounds good, and has endeavoured to make his record satisfy us on all counts. carried along by an unbelievably buoyant bassline, purring, deep house-style chords and crystalline percussion, the track climaxes in waves of synthesized strings. >upad aah< is a vivacious, skippy dancefloor track, its constituent bass and drum elements rounded and smoothed for maximum bounce, sharp, pressurized snares provide a glorious counterpoint, as quasi-tribal percussion, and airy african female vocals are layered over the top. the result is fresh, powerful and eminently danceable. >persuasion< is a deep, swinging club track. once again that warm bass is at the forefront, with clipped yet languid chords building melody around it as

get ready for this summer palate ! laposer have come out of nowhere with the biggest club rocker for us since dubfires and guido schneiders plastikman remixes hits the decks last year.taste this african twist, floor rasing house anthemas it sweeps through momentous build ups and spiced with a touch of outstanding percussion and a whole lotta house and groove for good measure. the b-side is irresistible as well, yet even more modern. no digital sales, no minimal ! pure vinyl! both songs drip of the sweat of the dancefloor -- each swinging with a tight, static afro-beat/house/funk-fused propulsion
INSOMINA

24.04.08
straight from the pink slow studio, david garcet strikes us with 4 new cuts. the a1 is simply said a good floorfiller. expect some straight forward beats and percussion work with that characteristic bleepy synth line being used to full effect. the >monday mix< is yet pretty mellow. the synths have come down a bit and the arpeggios are more upfront for that melancholic vibe.
BODY LANGUAGE
12 Inch
21.04.08
monotonix are a punk trio from tel aviv. they formed in november 2005, set up on the floor of the club with the audience, and the party began. but the party usually got too wild, the power got cut, the cops were called and monotonix were banned from playing again almost everywhere. before long, they were looking for good places to play outside of israel - and they were delighted to find that there are more rock and roll party places outside of israel than inside! today, monotonix are the hardest working rock band in the world. sure, lots of other bands work up a sweat, but monontonix are definitely the only band who puts in the kind of miles they do, and they rock rings around pretty much the rest of us too. these guys do two different shows in two different towns on the same day whenever they can manage it. but thats only the tip of the hard working iceberg. body language sounds almost like a monotonix show. the only thing you cant hear is the sound of your heart beating in your ears after having been chased around the room by a vocalist with his pants literally on fire, then getting dousedwith beer and dancing your ass off to the guitar riffage, then ending it all by carrying the drummer around on your shoulders while a few other guys hold his kit up so he can keep drumming. you dont end up quite as out of breath when listening body language, but you do get a ton of excitement anyway, courtesy of a killer guitar sound, precision power drumming and lusty lead vocals. they recorded body language with tim green (of the fucking champs) at louder studios in san francisco. it twists and grooves with all the fun and fervor of great rock and roll.

good news from the merkur kunst headquarters, a.k.a the japanese diaspora embassy: our attempt to enrich berlin cultural activities with a japanese interpretation of electronic music has found its voice with a first 12inch vinyl release. merkur 01 features gonno, a tokyo based artist who already released on uks perc records and japans wc recordings. his track >es< is a pulsating dancefloor twister build on a solid bass substrat rising with warm and tripped out pads. the flipside brings two tracks by merkurboss shingo suwa. he operates the japanese machines in a classic chicago style - percussive, hypnotic and with this specific grasp only the inventors can provide. these tracks are well made uptempo technotunes with a slight touch of aristrocratic reserve

belgian artist ludwig buez who has worked a long time under the soul preachers nickname is really happy to introduce komplement recordings, his fresh new electro minimal label. for the first release & asked french duo ginos & snake to remix his original track. on the a side, you ll find the original hypnotik electro track called cirkus. dark psychotic synth & great killer break gives to this track all the power & the emotion needed for massive crowd reaction. the remix from ginos & snake is a perfect exemple of how good these 2 guys can work with their gears! they did a more progressive construction, added raw synths & worked the main melody through special effects!

nice price deal !!! behold ear goodies from fjordfunk, with his hi quality sonic fishing fleet. the sounds of epic coldwater trawling can now be yours in the safety and comfort of your own adobe. the scampi disco scamp takes dancefloor analog melodic waves from the seas and oceans of tranquility, and then weaves the cosmogony of new record label, luna flicks, deftly and with the skill of loki himself into strangely solid beat nets to catch unwary listeners by the feet. with this, the first lunar orbit, we hear ovid 8 metamorphose into a post 9/11 poissonier. good lord, st. francis himself couldnt get the mackerel dancing so well (despite their lack of jiving feet)! an anthem for the pre apocalyse generation, spinning a woven path to dancefloor bliss and enlightenment. this is fjordfunk: hear him roar.

a joint effort between prins thomas and word and sound- the idea behind the label is to put out good music and not limiting ourselves to stick with a specific genre, instead opting to stay fresh and individual with each release going in every direction we feel. we re gonna be highlighting new talent, re-releasing some lesser known nuggets and certainly give you some dancefloor killers along the way to. from japanese techno to california kraut : ) just the way we like it... second release up is a taste of what s to come later in 2008 when we drop windsurfs debut album. these 4 tracks where initially planned for release on sentrall but where for some strange reason scrapped and made available as mp3 only. too sad as this is some of the finest heady downbeat electronic music to appear in the current baleric, cosmic blah blah blah call it what you want scene. windsurf consists of 1 part sorcerer and 1 part hatchback, both has records out on tirk and thisisnotanexit respectively and they ve also managed to deliever killer reworks of lcd soundsystem and shawn lee s ping pong orchestra(to be unleashed early 2008). crafting their own musical universeout of layers and layers of guitars and synths, never going for the obvious... well, im not gonna spend more time trying to convince you, check it out at wordandsound.de(paste in appropriate link here f.ex....)

as we found this fabolous track from bruce lenkei, we couldnt believe that this was not an original from the cosmic era, instead it is a new production. this track immediately came on to us very strong with its magic sounds and the great atmosphere, which describes the title best. after we included the moonlightzombiedance into our mix for the d.i.r.t.y soundsystem from paris, we got crazy feedback from around the globe and so we decided to put it on wax. on the remix duties we have the hot talented michoacan, who earned himself a very good reputation with 12inches on labels like bear enterainment, grayhound recordings, tiny sticks and lektroluv under his belt. most recently he also got remixed by the almighty dj harvey and the glimmers. he speeded the tempo of the original way up and transformes it into a crazy krautrock stepper in the vain of goblin. it makes the people dance like zombies on speed - we experienced :). if you dig the zombiezombie stuff you will love this one.
