sampler release extract from the forthcoming compilation from because and edbanger, introducing the nouvelle garde from the edbanger sound... all new talents that the famous label itself consider as their legitimate offsprings... over the past two years, other young producers eager to transcend the genres have been working in the shadows, preparing a new electronic revolution. who are they, and what does todays music sound like? thats what the dum-edges project is attempting to uncover, with a compilation and a live tour.
tensnake has been hamburgs best-kept secret. has been! past 12inchs for labels like radius, mirau (which he co-runs) or his gorgeous >keep believin< three-tracker for endless flight speak louder than words. on top he delivered all these nice remixes for the likes of junior boys ( fm÷ is theee one), sally shapiro or more recently toby tobias on rekids. firmly rooted in new yorks sweaty boogie dreams and with a soft spot for dazzling house music, >in the end< stays true to tensnakes juicy techniques and pleases our friends and colleagues (radio slave, robet dietz, prins thomas, gilbr, mark e) alike. we start off with a courageous house tune that has all the qualities of an a-side and concisely defines the dilemma of lovers: in the end someone always has to cry. but as long as it sounds like a cutty ranks rocket launcher, we want test it. the other side of the medal features >holding back my love< a slow-motion disco robot bomb with a crooning tensnake on the mic that makes everyone feel happy like they should. finally, >thethenunknown< somehow melts the moodiness of early factory records (think a certain ratio with a little finger exercise) with the atmosphere of kenneth dixon jr.s >misled< - one for the heart, soul and your headphones. at least, gerd feels and thinks like that. speaking of feelings. if downloads are your thing, you can get the digital bonus track >can you feel it< at all the usual spots. how is that for a change? this guy aint a blindschleiche

after successfully bringing back the boogie with the launch of their own imprint, boogie corporation are now back again to prove that they really are slaves to the boogie with this their second release on bc. inspired by strange android dreams and angelic visions of russian air hostesses on electronically powered scooters, aeroflot is equal part space and equal part boogie. meanwhile on the flip, git down is a slab of raw basement boogie, an experiment in time travel and is well heavy on the funk. last up, but by no means a slacker, is dirty rips which pays homage to the machine funk of the early electro sound while giving it a serious contemporary tweak. this track was previously re edited by dj legend greg wilson and released as hardcore boogie on redux, but this is the first time the original version has been released on vinyl. are you a slave to the boogie?

the running back sports team is glad to welcome two new players to its roster. dplay and whiz kid manuel tur (see also his brilliant ribn stuff) have caused a great stir with a bouquet of 12-inches for outfits like zurichs beloved drumpoet community or the compost black label as well as knocking out well-made remixes. for instance, their work on kiloos the passion is just adorable. here we have them melted into one organism called dplay, while mtur moves in silence (or in the production credits, if you please). stretching out on the a-side, huub sand is not only a tribute to two of schalke 04s greatest gentlemen, but a prime-example of cavernous, stoic and infective house those two (no not the schalke guys) had quite an impact on. initially planned to come with a remix by the mighty radio slave (please look at cat-no. 012 to see what became of that), our coach could convince the duo to hand out two rather atypical, nonetheless bloodcurdling tunes instead: tschaka kicks some deep dub disco houz styles of the highest orders with riot-like effects on your mind, body & soul. finally, schroulé is a claustrophobic corker, if we have ever seen one. should be the perfect sound track for padded cells and the up-and-coming remake of mel brooks frankenstein. these ruhrpott kids are alright!

a dark hypnotic tribal burner with some uplifting 80s synth sounds on top of it that could best be described as radio slave meets lindstrom! feedback: martin eyerer the original is very good! for a track that makes such an impact, the label could only entrust remix duties to a true production don, and jerome sydenham is that man. he delivers a heavy duty blacktro dub that is set to make an impact with so many of you!

versatile are delighted with this new addition to their catalogue. a release made in belgium by detroit techno prodigy: fabrice lig. as you will notice on this new ep, the first white guys to have signed a record on kevin saundersons legendary label kms, remains faithful to the sound of motor city. a light and esoteric melody sets the tone of >x-slaves who changed the world<. the tight clap and kick drum leave room for the modulating bass. a voice similar to martin luther kings, repeats names of cities in which slavery prevailed, whilst pads stimulate the mental trip. the x slave is taken by the dancefloor, changing the world as he dances to the beat. “funk la termite” is elastic funk. binary rhythms, off-beat chords which keep the groove balanced whilst the hi-hats, like little insects, dig away at the beat, building it and deconstructing it as the sounds evolve. >the round of funky bugs< continues in the vein of creepy crawlies. here, the synths are more upfront, their acidic layering create a mixture of harmonic loops which will set all hells lose. the melodies and use of pads stay anchored in the detroit tradition, but this production fits just as well with all the current electro releases worthy of any good dancefloor
remixes by audion (matthew dear) & motor big with: radio slave (top 10) , dj naughty, ewan pearson, laurent garnier, miss kittin, magda, tiga, konrad black & dave clark (top 10), monika kruse (top 10),… originally released on planete rouge records, terence fixmer >electrostatic< , have been licensed to gigolo records in 2000. electrostatic has been voted among the best track of the year 2001 by many magazines and dj s in the world and became a classic hit in the techno history. the smasher track electrostatic was the track which opened a new direction in the techno scene, this kind of mixture of energy, techno and ebm influence. now back to planete rouge catalogue, electrostatic has been revisited by matthew dear under audion and motor
