by the 1970s studio one and clement ‘sir coxsone’ dodd had already proved himself to be the defining force in reggae for almost two decades. from running the downbeat sound system on the lawns and yards of kingston in the late 1950s to opening studio one at 13 brentford road at the start of the 1960s, ushering in ska and rocksteady and establishing the careers of most of jamaica’s artists – everyone from bob marley and the wailers, ken boothe, toots and the maytals, the skatalites, jackie mittoo and more – clement dodd had until this point dominated the jamaican musical world.

green supreme is the fourth studio album from house music veteran phonique: a collection of 11 remarkable songs from one of the scenes most revered producers. to describe phonique as prolific would be something of an understatement. to date, he has amassed a discography of more than 500 original tracks and remixes - as well as three previous studio albums - for acclaimed labels such as dessous, poker flat, crosstown rebels, systematic, souvenir and of course his own label ladies and gentlemen, a collection which includes some runaway successes. despite working on green supreme, phoniques fierce production rate has continued unabated in 2016, with highlights including t groove on katermukke and his stunning remix of frank & friedrich coming home which landed on universal earlier this year. phoniques three previous critically-acclaimed albums attest to his evolving sound and diverse influences, his deep knowledge of house

the rawkers ep…more than 10 years after the release of cassius first album, the duet comes out with a 6 tracks project that mustn’t have left a lot of people whove listened to it indifferent. well, if there are two people who appreciated the ep, it is jay-z & kanye west, aka the throne, who sampled the famous i <3 uso on their track why i love you, turning it into an absolute popular anthem. if the former album of the band was a tribute to adolescence, here it is more about the earliest days of ours, as the song les enfants (children) depicts it. to such an extent that the rawkers ep sounds like a gigantic playground, full of joy and happiness. were glad to repress this record and to give you an opportunity to escape through this enchanting opus, before cassius new album is released.

its not often we end up releasing four singles from an album, but with the tuneful love supreme standout track >waiting for the love< we seem to have achieved it. penned with uk based benjamin james smith, (who also delivers the snappy vocal) the track screamed single right from the start. heading up the remix package are two stomping mixes from synth-wizards, chicken lips. dean and andy keep the catchy vocal but overdrive things in the synth department. their vast armoury of sounds and accomplished arrangement makes this mix one to be really proud of.

(and with hit we mean hit... like top 10 positions uk and us etc). we already got some raving reactions from people who use to love this big brit funk tune back in the days... and this might even sound better! nice remix challenge for greg wilson and elitechnique... both delivered the works! we could write a long story about the remixes and the remixers... but just choose your favorite. 2 sublime nu disco funk work outs!

clone v2.0! clone back in its new form.. a series of specialized series dedicated to different functionalities, emotions and styles of electronic music. the clone loft series will be releasing more traditional house and ny influenced disco for the smaller and more intimate club settings. first of reggie dokes with probably his best release so far! a-side is a dirty but massive house track that goes down very well in any house set! at first notice this might be the main track... which most likely it is for more peak-time use... but actually our favorite is the fierce i wear the mask track on the flipside. this track has a nice jumpy beat, very light... but such a balanced rhythm that it will grab one for sure. on top it has layers of strings and a bouncy bassline and very staccato keys... and everything is so well balanced, so sensitive that it really gives us goosebumps all over! it reminds even to some derrick may tracks where he managed to make his songs emotional and fragile with the same kind of timbre and hidden energy (but then less 909 orientated and such...) it has that force, that gentle force of magic that frees that inner energy, that inner power that makes you wanna dance. what a stunning track and what a strong release by mr dokes. essential!
