the people in fog are back on sov! as smooth sky blue colour cat can represent. this ep has a smoother beat than the artists usual style. if you remember their previous ep with a darker colour. now the punching kick and identical house bass are gone and this ep is true showing off the producer s ability as a musician who can adapt to any kind of diversity. the first track last song has deep bass and atmospheric sounds. like a typical romanian loop. but after the long trippy beat when the piano sounds kick in. the atmosphere changes and brings back the emotion. the second track get funky is also truly hybrid version of house. while the combination of funky vocals and the endless hi-hat and shaker keep the groove tight and the deep down pad sounds mixed smoothly with the forest of beat make for a truly a unique character. the last track alright is a very joyful one. even though it uses a typical funky house vocal sample. its unique way of playing percussion and vocal keep the groove totally all-right
elizabeth merrick-jefferson is one of those artists who seem low-key. theres not a lot of information about her. if any. except for the existence of the first two records and a lone interview. one released in 2013 and the other in 2014. listening to either record tells you her music might be a lot of things. but low-key isnt one of them. powerful and colourful. direct. and with 313 references embedded in its dna. she pulls it off with style. elizabeths third record is no exception. it has found its home on our mothership label. burek. three happiness is tailor-made for the dance floor. it wont leave anyone with a pulse standing. playful synths. wonderful strings. and infectious groove make it impossible to ignore. knowledge revolution is layered and paced. painting a somewhat different picture. melancholy and a sense of mystery envelop this track. whose leitmotif vocal appears just frequently enough to provide insight into the title. the last track of this ep is fittingly titled noctilucent clouds. its a drumless track with a rhythmic main synth counterpointed by sounds which give off the impression of clouds shining through the darkness of winter nights. another amazing release from burek.

thus far lost city of atlantis has been spotted on just one 12-. released on emotions electric two years ago and supposedly the handiwork of a producer active in the late 80s between new york and detroit. whether the providence is correct or not hardly matters. the most important thing is the quality of the tunes. and on this new release for slow town there s an abundance of hardware delights to get freaky to. -secret code of 7- is a particularly bugging synth jam. while -four- piles the swinging funk on heavy. this is certainly rough and ready house music. whenever and wherever it was made.
the latest release from serbia’s soul print recordings brings together the two l’s. leonid and laak. up first is leonid on the a side with two tracks urania 1 and 2. possibly named after the muse of astronomy. which makes sense. as both tracks have a cosmic feel about them. urania 1 starts off with a nice string sound that permeates the space before the drums start to really take effect half way through. urania 2 has a more house feel about it. with the acid bass line sitting nicely along the deep pads. over to the b side and laak takes control. delving into late night territory with haunting layered leads & pads these tracks are typical quality by laak. featuring label artwork once again by fellow serb. bratislav milenkovic and pressed on a beautiful sky blue. yesterday for tomorrow is a thing of aural and visual beauty.

april showers bring may flowers. but this april claude vonstroke brings you the rain break. inspired by two different songs from the 80s - (razes classic break for love and oran juice jones the rain). claude has replayed and re-sung all the music from scratch to make a special cover tune of both tracks changed and combined into a surefire dirtybird classic. to quote vonstroke. i kept singing the break for love bassline over and over again in my head but the vocal that always popped in over the top was from the oran juice jones. i cant explain why that happened but i just thought they went together so well that i ran with it.here comes the b is a much weirder affair. built with massive psychedelic effects. a huge kick and almost no hi-hat pattern. this is late night cavemen music at its best. this big release from cvs will have you wishing for a downpour so you can go walking in the rain.
