we are proud and happy to present the first release by our cologne buddy ziggy kinder. since many years ziggy is a close friend and has impressed with his work on labels like ware and tiefschwarz imprint souvenir. favela is the generally used term for a shanty town in brasil. ziggy has recorded the vocals originally with aline de magalhaes during his brasil-trip. this house-tune has been tested succesfully on the dancefloor and comes with great remixes by soukie & windish from hamburg. the digital release also includes a remix by deep data mastermind rené breitbarth from berlin.

ziggy kinders last outing on souvenir proved to be one of the highlights of 2007. bailamos, a record destined to make love to the converging worlds of european techno and south american latin music was hailed by artists like laurent garnier, koze and mike shannon for its mysterious melodies and enveloping percussion while the a-side que pasa maria was championed by anja schneider and radioslave. fans of tiefschwarzs daring souvenir imprint will be in no doubt as to what lies in store for the label’s tenth release. >flipflop crash< is another typically ziggy workout destined for a discerning international dancefloor. disorientating percussion and flanging effects dance around an insistent throbbing bassline while a female vocal whispers in french. the warm melodies layering the track hint at the sultriness of >bailamos< , but this is a continuation not a revisitation and an impressive step forward for ziggys sound. on the flip chilean star pier bucci takes up the remix reigns. after impressing with his ahead-of-its-time familia lp on crosstown rebels in 2005 and last years club bomb hay consuelo, his addition to the souvenir roster is another memorable recruitment with current label remix talents including artists like carl craig, tiefschwarz, shonky, samim, kiki & silversurfer and radioslave. his interpretation adds an injection of urgency to ziggys original, stripping the vocals back to a minimum to make way for an epic delay soaked synth hook. its a remix destined for the end of a night or that perfect plateau of a party when the dancefloor has been moving for hours waiting for a hypnotising melody such as this to sweep it onto another level

für die alben space oddity, the man who sold the world, hunky dory und pinups! wurde die remasterte version von 2015 verwendet, während für the rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars auf das 2012er remaster bzw. bei aladdin sane auf die remasterte version von 2013 zurückgegriffen wurde.

mathias schaffhäusers fourth collection of remixes will be released in march and april 2015 in an exceptionally lavish way. two vinyl eps, each with an additional cd, will be released 4 weeks apart. the vinyls will feature the clubbiest tracks, which also will be on the cds (some of them in uncut original versions), flanked by a handful of more subtle and experimental tunes, making 17 tracks in all.
