afterlife keeps on going strong! earlier this month they brought us tale of us & vaals monument and that just got a proper remix treatment. no others than stephan bodzin and barnt, two artists, who stand out notably for their unique sound took turns on the original lead track and put their very personal touch on it.

tale of us present a new collaboration with vaal for the sixth release on their afterlife label. three years after they teamed up for -concur- and began to tour together, the trio return with their most anthemic offering yet.

tale of us are carmine conte & matteo milleri. born in north america, raised in italy, at home in berlin. and this is their first release for minus. both musical and minimal, tale of us strip things back to their most basic ingredients. circular phrases hinting at the melancholic slowly spiralling downwards.

visionquest’s ryan crosson, mighty duo tale of us and the unique aquarius heaven all unite for the into later habits ep - the next release on the visionquest imprint. a-side angel is a collaboration between crosson and tale of us, a multi-layered head trip with a moody intro of broken beats that builds with intricate textures until a rolling groove drives the track into another dimension. b-side head under water is structured around the penetrating and distinctive voice of aquarius heaven as he weaves a story of the importance of family and love. beginning on a sparse, ambient tip with electronic bleeps and fx, the track develops with a hypnotic percussive groove that vibrates beneath the powerful narration.

repress 2022 , beautifully designed 2lp ... when recondite, aka lorenz brunner, emerged with his debut lp for acid test (2012s on acid), we were still learning about the german producers inward- looking dance floor sound. a few years later, his sinewy jams have proved near universal like an underground zelig, hes fit perfectly everywhere from rødhåds dystopian to ghostly international and innervisions. acid test also allows recondite the chance to indulge his more outré tendencies and a welcomed return it is.

pt.ii sees tale of us collaborating with ovend, a french producer whose only prior output is a pair of eps for amandra s ahrpe label. mathew jonson, hunter/game and keith carnal are also among those making their afterlife label debut, while recondite, woo york and aether are back after previously appearing on the label.

from another mind, founded in 2014, presents its fourth and most capacious release to date. having started off initially as a south-german party series, this release sees commanders-in-chief shdw & obscure shape invite back previous guests from the clubnight, just this time using their talents as remixers to breathe new life into the first three much praised from another mind records.

afterlife and tale of us are proud to announce “realm of consciousness”, a 10-piece compilation expanding the afterlife totality into a label. the label and events will complement each other with one aim, to bring the crowd into another dimension of music perception with enthralling production to that ignite the senses.
