cosmin naie aka dot13 is a young romanian artist making his debut on the first release of the r.organic label. this is a very limited edition, 180g, colored sleeve, containing tracks already supported by herodot, nu zau, janeret, los bastoneros and many others. the ep was named after the first and only romanian that reached the space in 1981, dumitru prunariu. its time to do it again.

for this second release it is the young artist blicz who joins the volphonie team. he proposes two original tracks, mineral effect and 2nd story, which perfectly characterize the universe that the artist has developed in spite of his young age and which perfectly matches volphonies spirit, a hypnotic and effective techno that does not forget the melodies charged with emotions. each original track will be followed by its own remix: the first from flug which gives us a clean and ultra dance floor version of mineral effect, and the second from andre kronert, focusing on drums and groove. in line with the first release signed scan x, volphonie continues with this second opus to develop its universe by bringing together artists from different horizons but who all share this involvement in music and in the techno movement in general. because volphonie thinks, like many, that it is not just about music ...

a mineral love- ist ein facettenreiches album mit einflüssen der späten 60er bis hin zur gegenwart, das dabei jedoch immer den unverkennbaren klangcharakter bibios beibehält. das werk ist ein ausdruck von vielfalt, einem elementaren bedürfnis des britischen produzenten, der wohlüberlegt und sorgfältig die unterschiedlichsten tracks nebeneinander platziert. dabei verzichtet er komplett auf samples und spielt jedes detail selbst ein. zusätzlich geben der belgisch australische singer/songwriter gotye und der haitianisch-kameruner us-sänger olivier st. louis zwei vocalfeatures, während der brite rob lee aka wax stag den track gasolines & mirrors co-produziert, auf dem bibio singt.

whilst barlande may be difficlut to classify in genre it has been described as having its roots in flamenco and some ramifications of contemporary classical music. but any attempt to pigeon-hole this album should be ignored beyond deciding what shelf or floor to place it on in a record store. barlande is about creativity and discovery and its story is both fasciniating and inspiring a father, pedro soler, and his son, gaspar claus have created something entirely unique. the opening track insomnio mineral is a gentle begining with sparsely plucked cello before being joined by a gently sweeping flamenco guitar. what takes place from there on in is difficult to describe in words. the language between the cello and guitar become unlike anything i have heard before. the cello comes alive, a voice at times, leaping and striding in near freeform before coming back to join in mutual step and melodic interplay with guitar.
