born in canada, fatima camara was raised in a large portuguese family where traditional song and dance were as integral to her family gatherings as food, laughter, and wine. before we sleep, her debut album, is as a collage of the diverse musical influences that have defined each chapter of her storied life: bass guitar lines wrought with the new wave sound that marked her formative adolescence, drums that echo the electronic music she migrated to during her early adulthood in toronto’s dance music scene, and an overriding melancholy that signals the conflicted feelings she has when considering the thin layer of dust that has collected upon her chair at the family dinner table since she made her move to berlin. &#8232,,,apart from music, fatima appreciates happy accidents, blended horizons, and unlit corners.

it seems that dapayk used to listen to a lot of hip-hop when he was younger. his latest ep for still vor talent >let go< has got these influences written all over it. the title track starts out with a male vocal and some sounds that sound a little like scratching before things then quickly head into the direction of the club. the vocal by singer camara could not be more reminiscent of 80s house music and this track has got all the soul and groove of this era. beneath the delicate vocal and sound patterns lies a wonderfully simply staccato house groove that is sure to get everyone shuffling. on the flip things get a little more techy with >nneka<, a deeper and more melodic tech house glider that gently takes the listener towards a harmonic state of mind. beautifully arpeggiated pads, a warm soulful groove and some reverbed vocals make this one. last up is the sample-based tech-house stomper >upyo< featuring production partner jon hester. this is loop heaven: a pushy beat loop with many snares, reverse samples and an unexpected saxophone melody make this one the perfect changeover track from warm-up to peak-time. this ep shows dapayks skills to combine many musical influences into his unique still of tech-house music

all 10 releases + brand new dpk11!! dapayk solo is a studio workaholic and he strikes a blow for vinyl. in 2009 he started his very own vinyl only series called dpk, next to his well established labels mo s ferry, fenou and rrygular. the idea was to present vinyl in striking colours as a special format for his liveset tracks and beloved edits by artists such as format:b, super flu, sascha braemer and jon hester. it s a feast for the eyes and the ears all in one. now, four years later and after reaching #10 of the series, dapayk decided to compile all tracks in a collectors box. in addition to the previously released records he also included the brand new dpk #11 with a remix by aka aka. this big bundle contains 23 tracks and ranges from minimalistic to funfair tunes and also some edgy b-sides.
