dnaut is a brand new label launching with an ep from the mysterious collective mdec - music dance every chance. the first track *the treasure* is a spangled fusion of synths that variously rasp to shine, while the percussions lend a rough feel. the rubbery drums and bass line of *riz jungle* harks back to old school chicago. *hero* is a predatory, creeping and crawling house grove with a whispered voice to add yet more intrigue. *desire* featuring hayley blackman is a little more playful- rooted drums underpin elastic, swaggering percussive lines and a little disco dazzle is hiding in the subtle synth patterns. *glisten feathers* feat billy love closes the ep heartfelt style with a breathy male vocal. shimmering synths, lingering pads and tinkling pianos add color to the killer vocal.

in paradisums 11th offering comes from low jack, who returns to the label after his collaboration with qoso. it is a heavy ep of dense, apocalyptic sounds from the fast rising french dj and producer that often churns along at a very predatory sub-100bpm.

hot on the heels of the release of neville watsons songs to elevate pure hearts album, crme organization releases a three track ep of remixes from the longplayer. drawing on diverse names, each of the remixers transforms their given track into something quite different from the original. the first is by watsons frequent collaborator, bulgarian producer and live specialist kink. he tackles songs to elevate pure hearts and laces it up with some lazy old rave breakbeats and plenty of lucid synth and melody pattern before fast rising dixon avenue basement jams associate marquis hawkes takes on against the tide . he imbues it with what is fast become a trademark sonic weirdness, with wrought iron synth bars interlocking with molten synth lines and a slow, purposeful and predatory mood. finally, american moon b turns in a trippy outsider house version of son of house with off kilter claps, see-sawing synths and organic drums.

after the tense and dramatic soundscapes of jason letkiewiczs nzambi lp under his soundtrack guise alan hurst, emotional response have put the tracks to the test for three appropriately oddball remixers. fellow l.i.e.s. affiliate terekke turns out a heavily sedated dub of >nzambi< that rides a pacey house beat but buries everything in delay and reverb. timothy j fairplay brings some serious sleazy 80s electro tones to >parallel sensations<, complete with predatory vocal and thick ladles of synthy goodness. finally, jonas reinhardt cools off the intensity with a blissful ambient version of >before the dawn< which plunges headfirst into a warm bed of melodic drones.

matador is a dublin based dj,live performer and producer who has been releasing his own twisted but organic take on techno for the last four years. late last year came the huge kingswing ep on minus and now this spooks ep sees him step-up once again for a 5 track outing which balances his usual melody with a real techno drive. the title track opens proceedings with predatory, roughshod bass tone running underneath blippy melodies, snappy house influenced percussion and a dark male vocal where kenekt is all out sci-fi weirdness.spiralling space ships, undulating basslines and plenty of well-defined percussion all add up to a snaking track that really works its way under your skin.on the flip,b1 bambam is the most heads down and streamlined techno offering of them all before klay is the ep closer which manages to bend and drip little melodic droplets down the face of slinky hi-hats and deep,rolling basslines.

the owl, like its namesake, sits in the shadows. its deep, dubby bassline lazily rolls along, as our franco-italian alliance layer their percussive elements. string stabs usher in the smooth-keyed break, before that weighty bass drops back in. on the flip, txarco brings a sinister, somewhat industrial brand of funk, provided brilliantly by its growling, predatory bassline. as scything sounds, breathy vocals, and a variety of drums rolls lunge from the darkness, and fade just as quickly, we are constantly guarded by our bassline protector.
