with brighton being the spiritual birthplace of the london based anti skate label, it only felt right for them to finally have a proper release from a local talent. tech supportís output has seen releases on the likes of homage & astropical tapes, as well as a busy year of djing up and down the country. ďexcursionĒ is the dreamy playful opener that everyone needs to be prescribed in the morning, and not surprisingly, jesse bru has done an amazing job at turning it over its head quite intricately with a bit of detroit flavourings to go with it. the b-side is nothing short of special with the exciting piano keys and vocals on ďpraiseĒ making it a boat party must-have. last but not least, the namesake ďfriendsĒ is the butterfly-inducing club closer thatís been shown love by the likes of dan shake, lovebirds and laurence guy.

the man, the myth, the legend, back in the 80s jesse rae, along with roger troutman and bernie worrell, was part of the p-funk movement that was hugely influential to detroitís early electronic experiments. lesser known is that the enigmatic scot-funk warrior later produced underground electronic tracks in the 90s. the inaugural release on glasgow label southside shufflers presents two of jesses shufflers on vinyl for the first time on the global 95 ep- a sampler from his pioneering 1995 album compression. ever the innovator, jesse recorded the album collaboratively using live isdn technology spanning three continents, with the resultant tracks fusing african, us electro-funk and old scots influences. 23 years later, jesseís under the radar shufflers sound more relevant than ever. southside shufflers are a record label and sports collective based in glasgow with outposts in london and amsterdam. sss aint no half steppin!

hot creations revive chicagoís ghetto house scene with pioneer dj funk and german producer rydim who deliver the pumping ďghetto bootyĒ. a fitting addition to the release, miamiís jesse perez is on hand with solid remix.
the title track is a real throwback to the era of ghetto house with itís straight up, stripped beats. rydim explains ďthis project is a dream for me! dj funk has always been my greatest hero in all things chicago. doing ďghetto bootyĒ with charles was such a fantastic opportunity to bring all these energetic, uptempo chicago vibes to todayís dancefloors. itís a bouncing, killer of a track! the other ďeasy as thatĒ is more of a dj tool. itís the result of my latest drum computer, swinging like only these little machines can.Ē
rydim has been stirring up dance floors and releasing records under a variety of pseudonyms since 2002. since his rydim alias began in 2013, he has delivered releases for an enviable roster of labels including hot creations, tsuba and pets recordings and his tours have included the electronic sceneís most prestigious clubs.

super tuff makes an impressive debut straight out of brooklyn with m. vaughan at the helm, and it looks like high grade deep house is on the menu judging by the quality spread across this first 12inch. jesse bru is up first with the steady cruising futaki, featuring a great speech by tom waits about crooked trees. dj aakmael gets into a bouncier concoction on offering, and then it s down to label boss vaughan to push an agenda of tough nyc flavoured grooves splashed with dusty soul and jazz tones in an utterly infectious style. moony me then finishes off the ep with an acid track that features swooning strings and some deft drum play.

jesse bruís release on slivers invokes early edit based house with a number of tracks both for the head and dancefloor alike. similar to bruís eclectic and expansive releases as of late, Ďgiving me the feelsí, as the title suggests, focuses on a focus on soulful sounds that has become his signature.
were happy to welcome back harry wolfman for a full record after his fine collaborative square lane ep with loz goddard last year. here he delves into the leftfield side of house, this dreamy 5-tracker. torontos jesse futerman joins us for the remix fresh from his debut releases on church and omena.fermi brings the tropically tinged deep house heat, wavering pads and buoyant bass paint us a mirage of sweltering summer days ahead. ice thin starts as a melancholic mover, it steadily builds through dusty samples, shaken percussion and smokey moods elevating the energy into something euphoric. things get gritty as we flip to the b-side. downstream is a dark and grainy outing, edgy arps work in and out of tough drums and frenzied synths. jesses superb rework of ice thin features distant horns and vocals that ring out over a warbling rhodes and rumbling bass, then comes the lick of a slide guitar reminiscent of some kind of twisted western. wrapping up this beautiful and somewhat nostalgic journey we turn to outro version a funk laden work out. rich strings and woodwinds fill out the lush landscape that swells and soars across the steady, bottom heavy, dance inducing
kreattones third release is here, and we are extremely proud and thrilled to present ďday tripperĒ from the outrageously talented jesse bru. this four-track ep is a lesson on sampling, cutting and building, an aspect already acclaimed and recognized by all that had the chance to hear jesse s work (released on heart to heart, egoplanet, etcÖ). the opening track shares the ep title and clearly demonstrates mr. bruís vision on deep-house, with elements coming and going, breaks and drops, all working in perfect harmony. ďi want uĒ is a groundbreaking piece of art, filled with melancholy, heart-driven feelings and shivering whispers, resulting in a gorgeous love song. the first track on the b side, ďthey told meĒ is a uplifting tune, with clinic-cut sampling, powerful vocals and beautiful percussion. last but not least ďremember how it used to beĒ, a groovy arrangement of pads and vocals topped with a killer bass, ideal for club use. considering that this one blew our scale, we hope you enjoy this record as much as we do.
strictly limited to 300 copies. no repress. artwork & design: andy book
