brookyn-based hip-hop indie, coalmine records, is pleased to release the limited edition, 7-inch pressing of their acclaimed single, “one for the money,” which unites veteran emcees, royce da’ 5’9”, skillz and diamond d, over the anthemic, string heavy production supplied by beantown’s deejay/producer, g-squared (formerly of the kreators). first released in september of 2012 in a digitalo nly format, and later included as part of the label’s decennary compilation lp, ‘unearthed,’ (may 13, 2014), the limited edition 7-inch will be pressed on money green vinyl, and packaged with a free album download card of ‘unearthed,’ exclusively for black friday.

sonikku comes riding back into the lobster tropical gardens with a flurry of sparkling, arpeggiator-driven ambient jams featuring three extended reworks from nts regular mobbs.
sonikku’s originals apply a drier and skit-length pop approach to synth-based home listening. building a borderline-saccharine melodic base to each track then upping the sheen and the tropical & twinkling production. shots of balearic appear in earth temple, christmas jingles echo from the depths of diamond dust, while sky garden channels a more direct emotional palette of warm synthesizer heartbreak.
mobbs’ approach is to allow each track to breathe around it’s core strengths over a longer time frame, whilst enhancing and encouraging each element to make it’s space and time to enter the track. the shifts and swaying structures turn shorter synth ideas into fully blown journeys that become almost hypnotic by the end. a soft, dream-like ride into bliss.

when diamond district dropped in the ruff on mello music group in 2009, the gritty drums and grimy raps combined as elementally as hydrogen and oxygen. the d.c. voltron of oddisee, yu, and x.o. dusted off and revitalized a sound once consigned to the catacombs. hailed as an instance classic, its impact reverberated throughout the underground and mainstream. the washington d.c. city paper called it the citys best album in many years. during an era when lyricism was deemed too intellectual and samples too dated, diamond district overturned conventional logic. they preserved the raw and made it righteous. a half-decade later, the holy trinity has returned with march on washington. the truths remain timeless. wisdom over rhythm. slang turned into testament.

first on decks.de !! t-bet records is glad to introduce the duo mr. bizz, a project with house and dub sonorities. even though its a young project they have already had plenty of releases. among these the track eternity has been used in the compilation ten years cocoon ibiza mixed by dubfire and loco dice. strong irreverent percussions, kinda hypnotic, deep bass lines screwing in your ears, disarming melodic patterns mixed with elated voices all contained in dreamy atmospheres. its easy to be taken away by esta manana and to be enraptured on the rolling wheels of oasi. you know, we have decided to bet on techno and what would be more satisfying than to embody on this ep two great remixes from from andrea ferlin (1/2 of duoteque) and diamond dog (contexterrior)

after releases from heavy hitters such as two armadillos, solomun and andomat3000 the mantle now falls to new boy class71 with his double a-side >seaphone/diamond door<. well, it would do if he was really the new boy, but he s not. in fact, this new artist is an alias of italian producer santos, who has pretty much done it all in house, techno and every other genre we could lazily list. rounding things off with a respectful nod to classic techno via moody stabs, lazy melodies and an airtight arrangement in the form of >diamond door<, it seems like class71 is a bit of a name to watch. don t take our word for it though, ame, sasse, djinxx and agnes are already backing this winner.

yakuza are back again with some lovely goodness for all the deep house heads. this time the craftsmen step up to the plate with their debut release for yakuza. on remix duty for the release we have the ever so reliable johnny fiasco who brings something extra to the release. also pushing the buttons for yakuza we have label head honcho soydan who delivers a stomping dub. bringing up the rear with a dirty dub we have ben armstrong, all together a very strong package.
