sunday music goes deeper and depper with this fantastic album release. it reflects the love of label owner henrik schwarz for jazz, contemporary and chamber music. when norwegians electro-jazz pioneer bugge wesseltoft and henrik schwarz (!k7/ innervisions) produced their collaboration duo, it was clear that their synergy was both unique within, and revitalizing to, the whole genre of electro-acoustic beat-based improvisation.

this release represent in a sense the spirit of what we are. we started to think about it around 3 years ago, and is good to say that everything is gone positive. all the artists involved are connect from the same empathy and love, and things happened in the most natural way. collecting all the infos about mrs. endresen and mr. wesseltoft and looking at ninca and bruno biography, and of course with andrea and hubble always is our minds, we can affirm one more time the power of this intense feeling that keep us close to each other.

when some collaborations occur, it feels like fate has been paying close attention, planning something special. on one hand: bugge wesseltoft, pianist, composer and pioneer of electronic jazz, on the other: henrik schwarz, one of the most sought after producers of electronic music who has remixed stars from michael jackson to ane brun. this combination may not seem as radical as once it might, as in the days before bugges new conception of jazz, but the results most certainly are: this does not feel like your typical electronic jazz outing. its a super-group in microcosm. wesseltoft comes from a jazz background and has moved towards electronic music. he started on the ecm label with jan garbarek, and later collaborated with club music legends like laurent garnier and francois kervorkian on stage. schwarz comes from the chicago/ detroit techno culture, and performs at music festivals and in clubs on all continents. he has been moving towards the jazz and improvisation

henrik schwarz and !k7 are proud to announce a collaboration that will bare many different musical fruits. the first of these is a brand new label called between buttons, curated by henrik and focused on acoustic sounds and contemporary compositions. between buttons will be in partnership with !k7’s own neo-classical hub 7k!, and will kick off with a new mini lp by schwarz entitled works piano, followed by an ep entitled aphorisms by syrian artists khaled kurbeh & raman khalaf ensemble. mixing up old and new technologies, experimental and more classical approaches, the label will see schwarz forge new paths in his own work, as well as curating material from the peers he has worked with over the last 15 years. mainly made up of acoustic sounds, piano, string quartets, self-built instruments, percussion and intriguing classicist elements with a modern twist, there will be eps from piano virtuoso bugge wesseltoft, as well as other electronic producers wanting to show themselves in a different, more unplugged light. “in these times of constant turbo mode, likes and thumbs-up, we need to go back to basics,” says henrik. “we want to move away from the idea that relentless hasty productivity is a must, and instead take time to create space, to let ideas mature and to focus the mind on subtler sounds.” works piano will be a four track mini album that uses a yamaha disklavier as the starting point and reimagines it, reworks it and alters it with various digital and recording technologies. one track is a created with a reactive algorithm and one is composed purely from altered and processed piano sounds.

this is first single cut from the long awaited japanese deep house maestro kuniyuki takahashi s feather world (mule musiq cd 39, release on 21th jan!). kuniyuki invited many amazing gest musicians from bugge wesseltoft, henrik schwarz,fumio itabashi and name a few. this first single cut is club friendly version of the collaboration track with legendary 80 s poetry singer anne clark . her our darkness are our all time favorite. kuniyuki version is Êhomage to his all time favorite early 90 s house track. our very favorite new artist barnt version is his unique dark kraut rock oriented house.
