“all the same dream” is the third album from kyo, the enigmatic product of hannes norrvide and frederik valentin’s compact. for this record they have collaborated with american vocalist jeuru, a recent recruit into the city of copenhagen. pressing on white vinyl.

farväl falkenberg is an album by erik enocksson and a soundtrack to the movie of the same name. it is 10 years old this year and in celebration of that posh isolation is rereleasing it in a remastered version with new artwork, giving it its first widespread lp release to date.

cut from the same cloth as last year’s double-cassette, “like all mornings”, vanessa amara’s new album trails shorthand piano pieces and wilted strings through magnificent, electro-acoustic surrounds, often settling into buzzing, syncopated reveries.

“great many arrows” is the 6th studio album from damien dubrovnik, the danish duo of loke rahbek and christian stadsgaard. it is also the 200th release on their posh isolation label, marking 8 years for both the label and project. the label’s inception came with damien dubrovnik’s debut album, and since then the two have been inseparable. without damien dubrovnik there would most likely have been no posh isolation, and vice versa.

this latest work from vanity productions is a turbulence steadied to rest with care, and marks a critical high point in the project’s evolution. as the nom de plume of posh isolation’s co-founder christian stadsgaard, there is a deeply private yet fiercely empathic quality to “only the grains of love remain”. pirouetting between his collaborative work with loke rahbek as damien dubrovnik, as well as the empire line with varg and iron sight, to name just stadsgaard’s most recent activity, the inwardness reserved for vanity productions is perhaps a necessary step. that the emotive experimentation should generate such a touching soliloquy is an arresting watermark, presenting only the grains of love remain as the most eloquent work of the project to date.

“aktuel musik” is the second release from kyo, a duet of hannes norrvide and frederik valentin. norrvide is best known as the protagonist of synth trio lust for youth, though his recent solo techno productions under the guise of norin have also been met with critical praise. together with danish music’s enfant terrible, valentin, whose musical history is as difficult to trace as it is to comprehend, kyo is a project nourished by the orbit of two individuals around impassioned collectives.

“i musik” is the third piece from kyo, a duet of hannes norrvide and frederik valentin. with each release the pair make a shift in the project’s aesthetic equilibrium, forcing a new constellation of resonances, handing us a new beauty. “i musik” presents another wondrous movement in the narrative, like discovering a secret escalator that passes everything you want from a new angle.

long awaited reissue on white vinyl of croatian amor’s debut album from 2013. the world marked a switch in the project from the earliest tape experiments and this debut is in many ways a key release in the back catalogue of posh isolation.

hannes norrvide has had a busy year, it has been only six months since the latest album from lust for youth was released and since then he has released the debut album of norin in the shape of february’s “bakom planteringen”, he has released his collaborative work with frederik valentin under the name kyo with june’s “aktuel musik” lp and the earlier “potentiel musik” cassette album. now he is ready with the second vinyl release under his norin guise.

“the spiral” is frederikke hoffmeiers third solo lp for posh isolation under her puce mary moniker, and follows where last year’s critically acclaimed “persona” left off. working more precisely than ever, “the spiral” binds the listener in a tight web of sharp synthesizers, hammering percussion, obscured vocals, field recordings, and blistering noise. puce mary manages to at once honour the history of industrial music and noise, as well as transform it.

“finding people” is the newest recording from croatian amor, the morphing alias of loke rahbek. with last year’s croatian amor album, “love means taking action”, we witnessed a transformation in the project, its wide-eyed gaze having stared deep into the news feed, reengineering its heartstrings. finding people takes this even further. white vinyl presented in a clear pvc sleeve.

whether thought of as a fistful of small change or as a digitally distributed asset, monetary exchange is best calculated for aesthetic ends at the planetary scale. zoom out, and as far as you can. yen towers is copenhagen’s simon formann, known for his work as a member of lower and age coin. “bidders must justify their price” tracks the mechanisms of global exchange and scales sound system dynamics to fit, preserving only the minimum quantity of human perspective necessary to calibrate itself for advanced club environments.

“performance”, drenches industrial-infused techno in high definition details, divining a cracked bump & flex from the condensation of a joyride. with a handful of tapes on posh isolation, as well as an album on luke younger’s alter, kristian emdal and simon formann have developed a project whose momentum and reputation has steadily escalated, finding common ground between electro-acoustic methods and quantised club nights.

body sculptures is a contemporary project that brings together five unique voices in european experimental electronic music today. the formative element is the collaborative pact between sweden’s northern electronics and denmark’s posh isolation. last year marked both body sculptures debut live performance - a highly notorious set at berlin atonal festival 2015 - as well as their debut recording, “the base of all beauty is the body”. the disparate elements that have come to inform the project thus far are further refined and encoded in their new lp, “a body turns to eden”.

“the water we drink” is the debut album from khalil, a close confidante of posh isolation, and naturally a project close to the heart. with an iridescent shower of auto-tuned vocals and encrypted synthetic forms, khalil presents a luminous route into a future of cadences pitched to a crushing intensity.

“motor city” remixes by yen towers, abdulla rashim, quiltland and 1991. from blissed-out, droney tape works to sharp dance floor tracks, each of the four remixes presents a beautiful elaboration and articulation of sand circles “motor city”.

the pale and the colourful is the first album of internazionale presented on vinyl by posh isolation after a near flood of limited tape releases both through his own remarkable janushoved label and through posh isolation. the pale and the colourful is a logical summary of internazionales work up to this point and is the prime example of the sensual synthetic meditations he has come to be known for.
the clear pop sensibility to his compositions are clouded with noises and ambiguous field recordings and it is somehow hard to really figure out if the music intends to lift us up or hold us down. what is certain is that no internazionale release up to this point reaches the level of this new album.

boli group is a new ensemble spearheaded by copenhagen based composer and producer asger hartvig. responsible for some of the most fearless and intriguing works to come from the city in recent years, hartvig is as imposing as he is mysterious, and his debut release for posh isolation makes no concessions.

following on from the previous iterations of the series, particularly the widely acclaimed “nordic flora series pt.3: gore-tex city”, the cast of collaborators remain familiar. some faces are more prominent on this occasion, while others were folded into the series for the first time at last year’s berlin atonal festival where varg’s nordic flora program was unveiled.

born in munich, sebastian schnitzenbaumer aka belp partially grew up on the seychelles islands off the coast of east africa. educated in classical piano, those two gravitational poles, european and african influences, became the basis for his musical development. having travelled extensively with a closer connection to london over the years, belp kept his base in munich, becoming part of a small alternative scene questioning the predominantly rich and posh surface of the city. blending jazz, dub and noise, an emphasis on darkness in his broken beat oriented works evolved as a reaction to a rather hedonistic society preferring warm and uplifting sounds.
