following on from the last dext limited release by otik & dead mans chest we’re kicking off 2019 in fine style with another limited 10” vinyl cut with the same ethos as the previous release’s , 1 rave banger with a killer remix on the flipside. this time we have invited glasgow s party starter and long-time label supporter nightwave to join the crew and it seems like she has been here all along. psychic tonic is exactly what we are all about rolling breakbeats and thunderous kick drums and is the perfect addition to the dext ltd series. and if that s not enough, another of our favourites jerome hill (super rhythm trax) comes along for the ride, and flips it totally on its head on the remix

we have reached number 10. time to celebrate with a remix edition of the deep88 & melchior sultana project. awaiting the album release (later 2014) we asked 2 of our heroes if they would like to make a remix for us. with a lot a lot (and a lot) of happiness we announce the nightwave remix by ben >cozmo d< cenac, formerly known as dream 2 science (and sha-lor and newcleus and the cellar boyz), that made us a wonderful space trip with his dreamy synths and stylish drums. the other remix is >yo house< treated by the excellent australian producer andras fox, that converts the song into a super classy deep house one with a lot of hiss and love. the man behind > running late> really made some magic over the melody of yo house, as usual with the aim of analogue warm-tape-feel and his crazy skills.

hit it is nightwaves second ep on her imprint heka trax featuring the one and only ghetto house legend dj deeon, whose signature vocals can be heard on the lead track hit it bringing together chicago and glasgow in a unique and refreshing way.

tivoli trax started as a multiplex series paying tribute to local artists connected to kongs mantra night club, while it was based in copenhagens tivoli gardens. the first 1996 ep was followed in 97 by vol. 2 and finally by a 12 track cd compilation in 98. in 2018 we are bringing back this iconic tribute to amazing copenhagen based producers with tivoli trax vol. 3!

following the release of their new album marble skies this january, django django will release a new ep focused on the single track surface to air, a track which features for the first time in the bands a guest as the sole vocalist: self esteem, aka rebecca taylor from the uk duo slow club. filtering a jamaican dancehall influence through a widescreen of dreamy psychedelic pop, the track is accompanied on this ep by its instrumental version as well as three remixes from canadian producer lunice, glasgow based dj nightwave and the multi-instrumentalist producer body in the thames.

the second outing from btg follows, in tradition, their 2 originals and 2 remixes format. this time round toyc creates a slower paced dance floor obliterator titled ‘kicks’ sounding like a wonky laser gun trapped inside a broken 808 landing somewhere between broken techno and bass. on the remix project mooncircle and 20/20 ldn affiliated deft deconstructs and reconstructs toyc’s track into a maximalist beast fusing the current sounds of 160 bpm 170 bpm and half­time dnb with the technical precision of amon tobin. up next the booty­shaking stormer they call itoa, known for releases on bad taste and being featured in storming 160­/170bpm sets by djs and tastemakers such as om unit and sam binga. ‘snake pass’ is a classic itoa track, playful bouncing subs and flickering percussion and shards of vocal, landing somewhere between footwork and booty bass. btg co­founder etch sets the pace with his remix of snake pass, coming through with a schizophrenic beats influenced sub heavy stepper that slowly evolves into a breakbeat onslaught.

following their last 12 inch from nightwave, svetlana industries remain in their eastern european heartland with a long awaited ep from 1000names, the bulgarian production duo who made their debut alongside rustie on the now legendary >beatnicks< ep back in 2007. the >machine city< ep follows 2010s album and ep for black acre, as well as mixing for mary anne hobbs on radio 1 and recommendations in pitchfork. the ep marks a development from 1000names, taking giant steps on from their base in the beats scene towards a new sound, taking influence from giorgio moroder and analogue synth disco to imagine a future both optimistic and dystopian. it is like john carpenter meets hip hop and it is as good as that sounds.
