the el spirito ep is a three-track vinyl. the a side, el spirito is one of the lead tracks from the fading lp – which is set to be released a week later on 3rd september. the first b-side >work harder< combines dfrnts ear for melody and deep sounds with a techno-based 2-step shuffle. the second b-side >homeward< is a far deeper and more relaxed journey featuring the talented scottish singer joy dunlop.

unquote is the guise used by russian electronic music producer vsevolod ermakov. he joins a trend of exciting new producers from eastern europe delivering a new interpretation of experimental drum & bass and dubstep. he has, to date, clocked up releases on some of the scenes most forward thinking labels, including a single on med school and releases on hospital and influenza media. he has also been tipped as one to watch by london electricity on the acclaimed hospital podcast. cold tenderness is, as the title suggests, an emotional and melancholy piece of ambient dubstep. its stirring synths and haunting vocals create what is, quite simply, a breathtaking track that you will want to play again and again. the flipside sees edinburghs finest dfrnt on remix duty giving us a glimpse of what is to come on his forthcoming extended player on nu directions later in the spring.

guy andrews has been a prominent name on the underground circuit as of late, racking up a reputable back catalogue with releases and remixes for the likes of hotflush, hemlock and the vinyl factory. andrews has seen heavy support on the aforementioned singles from the likes of lorca, the black dog and a1 bassline, testament to his classy, understated take on house and techno. here guy joins the fina records roster, following a release from dfrnt, a striking indication of the attentive a&r approach of the label so far this year.
