after the release on french label basse resolution and after a couple of years since his last ep on bosconi, having released with the -under the line- track one of the highlights of our latest 10 years compilation and as bss together with his mates fabio della torre and mass prod, rufus is back on bosconi with a new four tracker record which goes on a new direction compared to the past music he did. -ritual chants- was mainly recorded in the abandoned industrial area of milan called bovisa and probably for this reason the release sounds all around a bit sci fi, cinematic and especially gothic. all begins with the raw techno jam of -fast rituals- where structured mellow and dreamy synth lines combine with the dusty, aggressive and driving rhythmical transportation of its drum section. fast rituals is one of those electronic pieces which tells you a story from the beginning till the end, so please pay attention to it. -sapere sparare- looks calmer but actually has the more mental and psychotic feeling of the whole record, driven by an intoxicating and fat bass line, rough jazzy beats and a lot of twisted out fm synths goodness whose times are punctuated twice by the warning female vocal theme of the track. -last shot #5- instead is a jacked out, hypnotic and darker broken house track dense of pumping low ends and subtle but glorious synth riffs properly made for the late hours and totally in the vein of a baby ford - minimal man production.-tenebre- closes up the ep with its horror movie atmosphere, drilling drones here and there, big bouncy bass lines, reverberated snares, drama strings and a dominant sinister melody which slightly reminds of some old dbx track.

owen jay and melchior sultana are frequently found working in tandem on their particular brand of contemporary deep house, and this is the second time they ve been snapped up by contrast wax following the aftermath ep back in 2014. the mood is smooth and sultry on the title track for this new 12inch, with a sensual sax lead taking centre stage over the kind of gentle bump that would sit comfortably on guidance recordings. bubbles floating in the sky, as the title would suggest, is an equally mellow mover, while b-side lounger saturn heads into even calmer waters with its hushed pad tones and technoid synth pulses.

will sauls aus music has seen a number of new additions to the roster this year as the label continues to prosper. now - adding to names such as timothy blake, geeman and escape, aus welcome in another auspicious producer by the name of fold. having released records on man make music and electric minds - fold lines up his netflix & chill ep: a potent stack of hip-hop indebted house tracks backed up by the extolled and shady kassem mosse on remix duties.

ovc is from chicago where he has been producing, and playing out electronic stuff in one form or another for like ten years including a lot of gigs and some residencies for example in sonotheque. but it s only the last three or four years hes gotten into the deeper side of techno and recently into the deeper/dubbier techno style, his music is a little raw as he does it all in hardware just live to two-track. he weaves together deep narratives out of a collection of blinking sequencers and drum machines, always assisted by a generous dose of reverb and delay. ovc releases with us on telrea the first 3 tracker we have done. all 3 tracks being on the calmer side of electronic music, rich in depth of sound and motion.

with this compilation aarhus-label help recordings presents a selection of electronic music, giving it the self-evident title *relevant material*. on the first face, an uncredited weird intro is followed by two tracks from two debutants. the lofi energy of brooklyn-based love letters is followed by a new-and-classical house-sound from sports, the younger brother of the two label-heads. on the flipside older brother central, who recently appeared on the the neighbour-label nord records, shows his calmer and more melodic side. the local group lester, who did the first tape on the label, deliver a playful jam, a groovy exploration of machine dance music. the final grooves of the compilation reveal another uncredited sportive track.

opener getting run down loops up a nagging hip hop sample over skittering dukey beats and washes drifting pads and spacey keys over the top for a hypnotic late night groover. reach out goes at a calmer pace, but revolves around intense builds, insistent polyrhythms and detroity riffs for a bit of hypnagogic drama. on memix duties, om unit does what you hope hes going to do, injecting reach out with seemingly infinite swathes of space and bottom end, looping about at his own pace, but with that constant sense of om unit purpose. nphonix closes out proceedings with a tweaky, rubbery acid style workout that will find friends in bass and house camps.

everything in valse lucht twists and turns, yet it remains catchy and playable like no other. linnenhoods step write is slightly calmer, a perfect early-hours-track and a 9 minute trip through the darker parts of the wood.

marcin czubala has been a busy man of late but the paper work certainly hasnt stopped the creativity flowing. whilst setting up his own imprint >your mamas friend<, for which he produced the first release, he is now back with a very strong ep for mobilee records >just away<. as someone who is always moving forward and looking to expand in new ways, czubala applies the same philosophy to his music production and this release presents a very fresh look on modern house music. >just away< features four tracks, each of which are expertly produced and have their own moment in the night, with much more bass, rawness and energy than his previous releases. whilst the title track warms the floor with drawn out synths and a expectant bassline, >memory lane< is an obvious peak time killer. meanwhile on the flip, >not like this< and >pleasure control< carry a calmer deep house vibe, but still enough of a kick to keep the floor moving. enjoy!
