2ND NATURE (INCL. JAY CLARK, SETH TROXLER & BAS IBELLINI REMIXES)
12 Inch 20.07.17
sometimes amongst all the music that we hear every day, something comes along so unique and brilliant that its captivates your mind and soul and refuses to let go. that was exactly what happened when we first heard dokta - the ex-studio engineer with the freshest take on electronic music we have heard for a long time. fusing a fully analog working method & live instrumentation with a breathtakingly unique arrangement style, dokta combines all his experience working with some of the best in the business and transcends it into one hypnotic stream of genre defying mastery. for his first ep on 20/20 we are fortunate enough to have remixes from fabric resident jay clarke, and a collaborative contribution from seth troxler and bas ibellini. it is a major milestone for 20/20 to finally have a seth troxler production on the label. he has been a great inspiration for us and hugely supportive of our output over the years. seth went into the studio with good friend bas and came out with a remix worthy of dokta s long abstract arrangements. we hope you enjoy, and with an album in the pipeline for later this year we promise there is a lot more to come
with previous releases on tuskegee music coming from the trio the martinez brothers, jesse calosso and phil moffa under their soundview alias as well as kool d and trouw resident william kouam djoko, next in line sees the return of bas ibellini with his first full length ep on the label in the form of friendship
we have a great collaboration album from unam zetineb and soolee distributed each original tracks and remixes. interpolate is produced by spanish techno producer unam zetineb which has chocking bass energy and gentle but harsh beats. another track tense is produced soolee, label head from south korea. it has highly tensed electric loops with pounding drum. each remixes are also showing different color of original mixes.

after 5 years of silence, dadub are summoning their magic spell on bas006 , rituals of resistance makes use of tribal drums, ghostly echoing samples taken from the collective consciousness. emotive techno in it s dubbiest prime evokes scenes of territories uncharted by global repression. dadub present their very own vision of techno politics. not shy to tap into a glitch, familiar sounds emerge from a well orchestrated chaos. an acutely bass driven sense for rhythm combines with the inevitable esoteric beauty of hand-crafted italian techno. this is the sound track for all those who yearn for an inner revolution.
the second part of the seltron 400 trilogy on most, trans i bas, sees the group re-embark on their singular journey in search of the essence of the rave. since the first ep in the series – zabawa trwa – came out last year, they have augmented their back-to-back dj sets with a full-on live show, which again fed back into their recording process. the record’s title cut, trans i bas (also available in an earth-shaking drum version) is as uplifting as it is spontaneous, complete with trance-infused pads and heavy, tripping bass. jest nadzieja brings a little swing and a mental breakdown, while oo is all crunched riffs and one-finger-string-solo glory. nuff said.
in the 5th installment of our various ep series, we continue our journey through both international and georgian soundscapes. put the needle on the a side, and you’ll find yourself in a melodic electro labyrinth. the journey goes on with the hypnotizing grandezza of a big room. the a-side closes with a spaced out sketch, deeply dedicated to rave reminiscences. what happens when electronic music resonates with eastern territories? flip the record to find out. distorted kicks and dirty drums, like ruins of an empire long gone, clash with house samples. our second georgian artist keeps it dirty: intertwined melodies tell fairy tales of landscapes both familiar and foreign.
irenicspc002 brings us two new tracks by bas amro, best known for his releases on freerange records and wolfskuil records. for this ep he takes an unusual straight-forward approach, chained is a driving dub track with beautiful chords, while nearing leans towards the deeper side of the techno spectrum. with both tracks being very suitable for the dancefloor, the b-side finds label boss roger gerressen changing pace, delivering a remix for the early hours.
the fourth release of bassiani was dedicated to various artists. starting from cassegrains track departure seven, we encounter a completely new and unfamiliar artist ersatz olfolks with his track straight road. hector oaks strikes with old school atmosphere by move on circles, walk on lines, while thomas hessler competes the circle with melancholic vibe by his track memories.
for the third binary cells imprint, the word is given to marla singer. -re-20- is a powerful industrial techno stepper combined with driving raw mechanic beats. b side includes bas mooy and endlec visions. the dutch and greek artists are delivering two massive remixes, transforming this ep in a brutal straight and effective dj tool.
bassianis 2nd12-inch release is out on november, 21. it will be 4 track included release, contribution from artists avi musaifi, abdulla rashim, varg, newa.
