alex dorothée was born in guadaloupe, and lived between paris and his hometown. he began his musical career as part of the band: the will boy, vautours and les junior de paris. he has released 8 albums and several singles. harmonie exotic will re-propose you the reissue of the album “au krisma discothèque” released in the mid 80s.

discotheque fantastique is a musical collaboration that produces an eclectic spectrum of genres, somewhere between psychedelic rock, rare groove, funk and cosmic disco.

the first release is an ep with three driving tracks. the first track by discotheque fantastique -carnaval- has a percussive beat, hypnotic bassline, solid funk breaks with layers of tension. the second track by herr 2003 s -bourdonnement de l amour- is an amazing rework of a classic 70 s psychedelic rock tune with a groovy bass line, punchy female vocals and a shimmering arpeggiator synth. on the b side, club bizarre delivers an incredible extended version of a classic french cut from the 80 s.

acclaimed italian house producer simoncino is back with another full length album, amazon atlantis, this time on one of his regular label homes, creme organization.

nice price deal !!! a key milestone in the labels discography. the ep begins with a cool drifting taste of modulated pads, rhythmic guitar and simple drum work. highlighting a bit more of a funky disco groove, atlantis is a liquid soul jam for the ages. the beat picks up with count down to zero, as an uber progressive hypnotic loop track gets lost in the smooth key stabs. the tribal vibe picks up with dont look down, adding some more percussion, slow attack synth chords and crazy rhodes melodies. gabriel slows things down to a lazy dubbed-out house cut full of succulent strings, charismatic claps and middle-eastern harmonies. great for the late-night club slot or an introspective headphone listen, this solid ep is a sure fire success!
