the new series for raw no-nonsens techno and house tracks. some straight up techno... some edgy, exciting and fresh, sometimes just plain functional dj tools. first one is mike dehnert with his solid umlaut track that was overlooked by many when it was released on his own fachwerk imprint. mike is one of the big talents with his own trademark sound.. something we don t hear to often! 3 unreleased verions of umlaut2... mikes first unreleased mix, slightly housier then the first one, the umlaut2 new version which is a straigth up club tool. big surprise here is the remix by levon vincent! a new talent from new york that got his name on the map after 3 incredible releases on his own novel sounds and deconstruct labels. he did a more then excellent job with his dirty and housier version. levon did lay down a crazy groove with an old fashioned hook line (very n.y. house) and mold it into a fierce techno track. fresh and completely different then most techno out there these days.

two of turbo s rising stars come together to make one of the biggest records of the year. peanuts club has been arguably the hottest track of the summer for heavyweight djs erol alkan, tiga, and a-trak. it s instantly catchy and massively effective, and we ve seen it bring the best out of the crowd night after night, but you probably already know all about it. the real coup here is that cajou club is another absolute bomb, maybe even better than peanuts club, and more disturbing evidence that france has produced yet another two major-league players in dance music. noob s really been hitting his stride lately, following on terrific remixes for brodinski and d.i.m. and tai s lyposuct, his productions getting exponentially bigger with each release. as for brodi, anyone that s seen him play knows he has all the makings of a star, and if he can keep putting out records this good, the sky s the limit! wanting to go beyond double-megahit and attempt quad-bomb status, we commissioned a terrific remix from sound pellegrino s renaissance man. noob & brodi are in love with it, plus they re the only finns out there to have not produced a record for turbo, so it was a perfect fit. the ph 0 remix on the vinyl is, incredibly, an original take on acid, it s loopy and weird, but works like magic.

afu limited welcomes alex long to it s artist catalogue and he starts with two slammin and cool technotracks with ultra trippy vocals! there is not much need to say anything about these tracks, just listen and enjoy the trip through the space age with a fast beating heart! since he was young, he has always been impressed by the sounds of the synths, electro pop and later on acid house. in the beginning of the 90ies, when the slovenian electronic scene was still in the making, he was a regular guest in the legendary k4 and palma in slovenia. he was taken further into the world in 1998 when he took his first steps behind the turntables and he has been producing music since 2004. since then, he has had quite a few releases and remixes for different record labels. he has dj gigs with huge names of the electronic scene and in large festivals in slovenia and became the official slovenian hero of the future in 2007 at the disconautica festival.he spends much of his time in his studio, where his thoughts are converted into notes and melodies, and as he often states, he finally found a style that suits him and always finds a challenge in. what is that style? he doesn t like to be defined by a specific music style, as he prefers and is influenced by many different genres of electronic music. alex long is definitely a name we will hear of in the future!

punk rock anthems for the next generation!!

the arctic monkeys much anticipated third effort was co produced by queens of the stone age frontman josh homme and james ford. humbug is a voyage somewhere new - its a richer, darker and more powerul sound. its heavy yet melodic mixing offhand self analysis with verbal assaults. turners charismatic vocals remain centre stage with that sweetening flutter of vibrato. the songs remain stories - fabulously wrought and told, set to thrilling and adventurous music. its a more grown up album of irony, guile, riffs and tunes, yet it still very much the arctic monkeys.

the spanish duo exium attacks again, and this time they are not alone. contributing a remix of the original track the omega man , the dutch duo radial add their special touch of today s techno with a style reminiscent of the best hits from the 90s. this 12 disc closes with exium s remix of dominik muller s silesian boy . the original track was released on the british label locked records, and it can already be heard in sets of artists like surgeon and rob hall.

german modern metal act caliban has returned with its highly anticipated studio album say hello to tragedy! the album was produced by benny richter, co produced by guitarist marc goertz and mixed by killswitch engage guitarist adam d.

finally after being a part of mark e s dj sets and very much in demand for a long time heres a much requested edit of one of the biggest tunes by the cool androgynous disco icon. it was already featured on marks resident advisor podcast and has received plays from gilles peterson on radio 1

trish van eynde has agreed to bless subject detroit with her soulful detroit techno tunes on this first subject belgium release. all tracks are amazing, she really put her soul into this release. respect !!

the upper austrian youngster has been addicted to electronic music since his early youth. after experimenting with different kinds of music he was fascinated from techno and house music and decided to buy his own dj equipment. through his outstanding talent in mixing records it didn t take him much time to be booked to local clubs and festivals. due to his unmistakable style of djing he attracted the crowd and found his own place in the austrian house- and techno scene. after his successful start as dj he started being interested in producing. at the moment he is expanding his international career and producer skills with the music association >elmart - electronic music art<. in october 2008, his stunning remix of chris eckers >when they say hello< was released on the german label >resourced music<. a month later, mike absolom released his first vinyl single >from absolom to heaven< on >elmart<. in 2009, he did several remix projects for mike turrentos >tele commander< on >elmart<, stefano vozzas title 2 on the irish label >dublin xpress records< and rob glennon on >nice &nd nasty records< with other remixers like orlando voorn, paul mac and many more

as a special little present, bitches brew is releasing this special cosmo remix of jamaican legend horace andy & ashley beedles when the rain as a limited 500 only 10inch with hand silk screened jackets and hand stamped labels so each copy is completely unique and a collectors item! cosmo was commissioned by k7 to remix when the rain from their album inspiration information, yet k7 released her cosmodelic remix as a digital mp3 download only so cosmo got the rights to release it on vinyl. there is also an unreleased reprise version on the b side for those of a dubbier persuasion. lovely, deep summer vibes all round.

tony nwachukwu is a pioneer and his musical roots go way back. he was the mastermind behind attica blues on the legendary mo wax label and has produced wonderful music which is still timeless. remixes for people like unkle, macy gray and even duran duran prove how incredible he is. at the red bull music academy he teaches his skills to young talented producers and has established an interesting night at londons plastic people called cdr where they only play unreleased music. cdr has also worldwide events. with burnt progress he gives young producers the chance to release their music on his label. his first ep for drumpoet is championing his big love for techno(logy) and equipment in general and underlines the great musical knowledge and open-mindedness of this forgotten legend he is! the ep has already huge support from some of the best djs around and the quality of all three tracks whether it is the detroit-ish t time too the twisted outta ere or the broken flowin is impossible to ignore!

our man from italy hits base again! he was the first house-agent that weÆve send out on a pure digital upon you mission. he mastered it with such bravory that our headquater see it worthwhile to hit session two on vinyl. in phase a1 he successfully recovered a hole row of bad house replicates under the code name ôshadittzö to bring back the good taste. ôback from the middleö is the motto in phase a2, essentially contributing the bust of a few lousy tech-house bosses that where about to sell scuzzy loops to minors. his work was very useful for us and an easy seizing for mr. superbrain tolga fidan who could complete the mission as our remix profiler.

this is the one you ve all been waiting for, the bad science ep from the mighty rustie. amazingly enough for an artist who has such an huge impact over the last year this is only his second full ep. i could go for on days about how good it is but best not eh. it all kicks off with the fractured hip-hop weirdness of tar and then swiftly moves into the massive bad science. we ve been seeing folk go crazy to bad science and rightly so, its an anthem and has getting properly hammered by kode9 and mark pritchard to name a few. its then on to the out there 8 bit bleepage of shadow enter. the b-side is now dedicated to the now legendary zig-zag and wireblock have really done themselves pround with this one by going straight to one of rustie s hero s the legendary henrich mueller (dopperleffekt, drexciya, arpanet etc) to add his own electro-physics sound to the aquatic mentalness of the original track. it comes to an end with zig zag (reprise), now the original was daft enough but this just to pushes it even further into new realms of madness. buy, buy, buy!

cause records is the project by the most famous (and married) hard-techno couple: petduo. straight from brasil, but based in berlin these days, petduo is well-known for their extremely energetic life-sets and bestselling releases on cannibal society / nerven / inflicted to name just a few.for the 4th release the pets invite a bunch of upcoming artists from their motherland. that brazilian hard techno is very much alive was already a fact with names like lukas, alex tb and pet duo themselves creating damage around the globe. this new ep holds brand new tracks for the masses. another killer on this young label that will literally blow your mind!

moombah is one of those records you probably heard on just about any party where chuckie dropped his beats and thought: what the hell...?! the massacre which followed on the dance floor when this bomb (or as david guetta quoted to chuckie: you gave me a huge weapon) got dropped was inevitable: total madness, and a track which became a much sought after release on the net, speculating by those youtube fanatics what it was in the first place. it was only before chuckie added moombah to the tracklist of his dirty dutch compilation when people actually knew the ins and outs.

in the summer of 1975 peter gathered his collective to record 5 compositions. the outcome was this great album ?the silver apple? heavily influenced by coltrane and his quartet, as well as by cecil taylor, maurice mcintyre, roswell rudd and many musical greats. it?s a monumental lp as it will take you back to a truly unique time of jazz in new york.

moxie say: we got hipped to the life of a party last year during a breaking contest in nyc, one of those old school ones in the bronx. it was pure ecstasy! so we extended the good part, so the trip would last longer. the idea was to combine party life with two other breakers tracks to form a steppers package and then mj died... browsing back through his catalogue we were reminded of two other sweet 70s tracks: the funky hum along and dance and the smoother, but dangerously infective let me show you (the way to go). the result is moxies tribute to mj. may he be with us forever. thank you for the inspiration and joy you gave us.

here is a limited repress of the 1st ep in detroit beatdown volume two. called the black ep, it was a fine opener for the second detroit beatdown series. the repress is limited to 300 copies.

the new, first time ever on vinyl 2lp reissue of a long way around to a shortcut is somehow a greatest hits of the golden not quite decade of sic alps. well, not quite golden, either. can gold be tarnished? can it be done on purpose? if so, sic alps are artisans of the highest order - for their music is the bright, surging sound of ye olde rock & roll radio (and the garages that tuned in) heard through air darkened with specks of nameless obstruction. in and amongst their ingrown sounds, sic alps take on classic tunes from strapping field hands, throbbing gristle and the zipps on a long way around to a shortcut. it is to their credit that they completely absorb their estimated predecessors and create the only sound left to them: the sound of the sic alps. a long way around to a shortcut was issued as a cd in 2008. it collected songs that were first issued throughout the epic years of 2006 and 2007 on two 12inch eps, three 7inch singles and a cassette, plus a song from a compilation cd r and a song exclusive to this compilation. the records were originally given titles like united, strawberry guillotine, semi streets, hip hop sweepers vol 1, teenage alps, and the soft tour in rough form, but all these original releases are long gone.

rock it is a full on dance floor assault thats fastly become the peoples anthem of 2009. already and permanent fixture with virtually every djs set within dnb and beyond, including the shows of zane lowe and annie mac. automatically recognisable with its half time intro, vocoder vocal hooks and lead line, you wouldnt be mistaken if you thought this tracks was talking to you. this has organic cross over appeal written all over it and we could definitely see some sort of national play list with this track on it.follow the light, is an awesome piece of musical production in its own right. this has become one of the most anticipated releases for ram records and sub focus since he debuted it nationally during his dj set at glastonbury that was broadcast live on radio 1. as such it soon become zane lowes hottest record in the world and has gained numerous plays radio wise since and has become a permanent fixture in the sets of dance musics a list djs worldwide.

this one was a smash all last year at the john waynes beach parties and its not hard to see why. beautiful and hypnotic naive melodies intertwine with a gently bumping rhythm with plenty enough groove to get you off the sun lounger and dancing on the beach/by the pool/on the roof (delete as applicable). perfect for the summer that keeps threatening to happen in the uk but that we never quite seem to have, time to go on holiday. theres a killer piano part that comes in later in the second half after the clip finishes

welcome to rebel intelligence - the new label is ready to make you pop like it was 1984 all over again! their first single is by the uks matt whitehead, one half of signal type (along with phil bolland on the cultivated electronics label) and captures the style of early electro funk in all it s analogue glory. so good! the a sides >beat the heat< is the more pacey of the two tracks here, constantly building with vintage synth stabs and the true feeling of electro, reminding us of harold faltermeyer and all those cats so heavy influenced by kraftwerk. on the flip, >tuff city< combines classic b-boy sounds and punchy drum programming to create an authentic listening experience that will make you want to get your lino out and bust some moves. highly recommended.

slam bring us the third chapter in their devestating paragraph series, following up their dancefloor destroyer, hot knives that was played by the biggest djs around and dubbed as one of carl craig s favourites of the last few months. the label s previous releases have already had big support from the rest of the techno fraternity, including legends richie hawtin, adam beyer, dubfire, anja schneider, len faki and francois kevorkian.
paragraph number 3 delivers some deep, bass-heavy electronic funk on the a-side, with one note samba . grooving from the off-set, the percussive elements of the track wind around a solid and heavy sub bass, introducing dubbed-out horns reminiscent of slam s freelance science days. hypnotic and tripped out, slam return to their house roots.
on the aa room 2 , dedicated to one of the world s best clubs, fabric, where slam hold a residency, keeps with the stripped-down, rhythmic and gritty sound of paragraph. whilst constantly fluctuating echoes and delays control the rhythm of the track, a swirling, yet straight to the point synth creates some frenzied and panic-inducing builds throughout, leading to a wholesome and satisfying ride cymbal. room 2 is a killer, peak-time track that will be sure to induce some serious convulsions on dance-floor.

after the smash that was shatnereffekt one, handsette recordings return, bringing a host of diverse and super talented artists from around the world together on one massive ep and another essential array of electronic music.
kicking off the ep is kritical audios >spandex<, a tune that comes slow on the heels of the swedish duos 2006 braindance monster >krupp<. the swedish duo have come with an itchy slice of razor sharp electrofunk with a burbling acid bassline thats currently being caned by surgeon and rob hall (who says, i ve been playing the kritical audio track a lot. good stuff )... this is a big tune!
next up we have miles tilmanns >spirex< which starts with a wonky off beat that gives way to some wacked-out rubbery bassline action and a lead line that could have come from the keyboard hands of harold faltemeyer or parliaments bernie worrell.
following that is c. mantles >that other eden<. fearsome and delicate, morose and savage, >that other eden< is a serious piece of dancefloor heft with reese basslines burbling under a clattering beat before dropping away into a slightly terrifying double-drop breakdown.
unity gain temples >sahmo< rounds out the ep with a glistening, truly beautiful piece of work. the heavy kicks of the intro are met by a rush of lush chords and deft touches of melody, driving the track into a space that is pure audio luxury and reminiscent of brothomstates, arovane and tippers more contemplative moments.

the new series for raw no-nonsens techno and house tracks. some straight up techno... some edgy, exciting and fresh, sometimes just plain functional dj tools. first one is mike dehnert with his solid umlaut track that was overlooked by many when it was released on his own fachwerk imprint. mike is one of the big talents with his own trademark sound.. something we don t hear to often! 3 unreleased verions of umlaut2... mikes first unreleased mix, slightly housier then the first one, the umlaut2 new version which is a straigth up club tool. big surprise here is the remix by levon vincent! a new talent from new york that got his name on the map after 3 incredible releases on his own novel sounds and deconstruct labels. he did a more then excellent job with his dirty and housier version. levon did lay down a crazy groove with an old fashioned hook line (very n.y. house) and mold it into a fierce techno track. fresh and completely different then most techno out there these days.
