a four-track acid ep by veteran producer warlock, out on kalbata s brush & broom label. ex-amount of jaw-grind action from the london underground legend. violent rays and swearings are both straight-up warehouse workouts, comfortably placed next to reflective after-hour gushers run dc and cave tone. once again, warlock demonstrates stunning crisp production, touched by old-school heritage, dating back to pre-94 legislation times. essential.
a true child of the rave generation, dj/producer warlocks mixtapes and radio show, on the now legendary london pirate station pulse fm, established his cult status as a stalwart of the early 90s uk dance scene.
continuing to push the boundaries of extremity and precision playing, exocrine are the bridge between the ferocity of archspire and cryptopsy, and the potent progressive leanings of obscura and gorod. on their new album ‘legend’, the band pushed even further to be more technical and faster, but paid attention to and increased level of epicness to their music. with this, exocrine have created a more grandiose sound to their music. ffo: archspire, gorod, fallujah

in the beginning of 2017, nightmare factory records will put out their first vinyl release. for this special occasion, the label s owner electrorites put together a unique va record called interweavings vol.1 comprised of smashing techno tunes which will shatter the dance floor into pieces. arween s hurry indeed doesn t take its time and rushes forward like blood through one s tempels when trying to make it in time - or when raving fast and hard, which is exactly what the track encourages you to do. the synth doesn t have time to unfold in a melody and stays on one spot, driven by a harsh beat which doesn t go under 137 bpm. the sour sweat doesn t drop any slower when state of mind by electrorites hits the speakers. incisive synth erupts through the dense wall of iron and steel which crushes and shatters under the surge of the drum kick. the hungarian techno warlock gabeen returns to nightmare factory with disappearance , a guaranteed dancefloor banger for those who prefer to feel the beat deeply in their viscera. the enigmatic duo vertical spectrum rounds up the release with andromeda collision course . this tune is weirdly soothing thanks to the sweeping, high-pitch rustling sounds and swirling trickles, but is still turbid by the sediment of neurotic, angry beat
one of house musics true originators, todd terry was first discovered by pioneering new york house imprint fourth floor records. now the label has collected four of his earliest and most essential productions on to one 12inch vinyl. the a-side houses a pair of tracks created under his black riot alias in 1988, both featuring his trademark raw, jacking drums. the unmistakable rave stabs on a day in the life were to reappear on countless hardcore records, testament to the tracks influence, whilst the cut-and-paste sample patchwork of warlock defines the house sound of that era. meanwhile, the b-side features two tracks as masters at work, a moniker that todd would later pass on to his friends little louie vega and kenny dope gonzalez. both alright alright and dum dum cry, originally released in 1987, exhibit terrys musical roots, combining hip-hop breakbeats, powerful electro-funk and playful freestyle melodies in his inimitable style.
support from truss, jerome hill, warlock, esther ofei, dexorcist, noyeahno and others

after putting out releases from the likes of uk rave legend warlock and baltimore rapper rye rye produced by bullion, dave maclean of django djangos kick + clap label announces tom furses run to me suite with because music, due out 9th october. on run to me furse has mapped out the ep as one opus divided into five cohesive parts. referencing early techno it has one foot in cologne and the other in detroit, with its tightly worked, precise machino-florescence, condensed and upfront, and free of the pomposity that abounds in the genre. a sound enamored with kraftwerk, juan atkins and yello, it underpins a latent narrative on themes of love, machines and obliteration.
its been just over a year since we brought you the fantastic ‘inner activist’ ep from our brother chris. crazy right? the fact that all three tracks became mainstays for many over the past twelve months is testament, yet again, to the talent of mr. carrier. we never leave home without him. magic gallery sees chris displaying yet more his own musical sorcery. opening with the soulful tones of fantasy faces we’re soon thrust into the serious drum workout of stories. the choppy beats and sliced samples of warlock follow before the ep is closed, in the finest fashion, by the spellbinding title track itself. another strong and essential collection of house tools from chris carrier.

how do you define the music of mantronix? is it hip hop? electro? funk? house? maybe the answer is all of the above (or is it none of the above?). it is true that mantronix will be remembered for their multi-faceted sound as well as their ability to bend and blend genres flawlessly into a cohesive musical tapestry, but they will also most importantly they will be remembered as musical innovators and sub-genre pioneers.
now available for the first time ever, traffic entertainment group in conjunction with sleeping bag records and warlock entertainment present, mantronix: king of the beats, the anthology 1985-1988. this carefully curated double lp compilation combines the best of mantronixs work from the early, and arguably, best era of their career into one amazing listening experience. whether you are an avid mantronix fan or are looking for a place to start - this is the collection to wrap your ears around.
we think everything we release on frijsfo is fresh. at the same time we believe it doesnt hurt to stay in touch with your roots, which is something buzzin10 does in a fascinating way. we cant tell you much about this young producer from east london, a publicity-shy individual whose music we first heard thanks to his older brother. but we do know he pieces together rhythms by sampling fragments from old tape packs – mainly garage nations late 90s recordings of some of the best djs of all time, including dj ez, karl tuff enuff brown, dj luck & mc neat, and ray hurley.
dj support so far comes from sully, desto, oslek, warlock, kingthing, resketch, rk and ltf (wifey ldn), cardopusher, valta, dusk & blackdown
