apollo is proud to welcome paul frick to the fold. frick is a berlin-born music composer primarily known as one part of the group brandt brauer frick. stunningly despite a 20+ year history of making music “second yard botanicals” is his debut album. with bbf keeping frick inspired and busy since 2009, other ideas had piled up until a temporary break allowed him to fully dive into them - “while it took so long until i made my first album, it took about two months once i started.”

paul frick is back with another massive ep on kalk pets. i got through is his third release for the berlin producer on the vinyl sublabel of karaoke kalk and with it frick has delivered another quality record.

doppelschall is back! the label of brand brauer and frick with another strong forward thinking house release. its paul frick doing a solo with emika and come up with some sweet warm sounding song with a great funky groove and sexy vocals. dollkraut comes up with a more then excellent remix that sounds like dick dale & the del tones doing a house mix... killer track with much pop appeal! akufen goes all deep house with warm chords and laidback vibe.

watergate records returns with their fourth vinyl edition. once again it focuses on exclusive tracks from the highly successful mix cd series, named simply after the club: watergate. this, now the seventh edition, is mixed by resident and versatile producer lee jones, and features a fine selection of nearly almost exclusive tracks. three have already been featured on the >peacock ep<. continuing with their tribute to the animal kingdom, albeit this time a little something for the ladies in the house with the >peahen ep<..

paul frick schreibt als studierter komponist in erster linie musik für klassische instrumente. auf seiner ersten 12inch findet sich aber zum glück house musik die soul atmet und trotzdem repetitiv, hypnotisch und manchmal technoid ist. erinnert stark an akufen ohne dabei cut-up zu sein

brandt brauer frick haben wieder zugeschlagen. im vergangenen jahr debütierte das deutsche trio mit dem album >you make me real<, einer fusion aus techno und klassik. doch tracks wie >bop<, ein reichhaltiges, polyrhythmisches gebilde, zeigen, dass es geht. nun haben daniel brandt, jan brauer und paul frick ihr genre-bildendes experiment mit ihrem ensemble auf ein neues level gehoben: die computer haben sie eingetauscht gegen eine zehnköpfige band, mit der sie handgemachte dance-grooves live spielen können. wie das klingt, haben sie in diesem jahr bereits bei der eurosonic conference in holland gezeigt, dann in coachella, beim festival glastonbury, sonar, north sea jazz und bestival! der neue, handgemachte klang wurde nun auf einem brandneuen album festgehalten.
