information ghetto, also known as clapan, has had numerous releases on labels like broque, manual, dars records and multi vitamins. sometimes compared to dominik eulberg, he lives literally in the woods, where he has set up his music lab full of strange self-built sound devices. his first 12 inch on pro-tez sports a dense atmospheric deep house tune (apartment 808) together with the swinging >forest dreams< built around a marky flute solo on the a side. backed up by a fine remix of >forest dreams< from jonas bering on the flip! three hits for the coming spring.

following up scape 1s >potent mutagen< ep, cultivated electronics is back with its 1st release of 2012 under a newly signed clone distribution deal. and who better for this release than electro flavour of the moment morphology.

after a short hiatus, misericord is back for 2010 with more off-kilter missives for back-room massive. first up is the welcome return of mr al usher. his >gnanfou< ep christened the label back in the summer of 2007 and was rapturously received / licensed all over the place. al has been quiet of late, busy being a dad and doing a proper job, but prins thomas put his out of the loop gem >lullaby for robert< out again in 2009 to much acclaim. this new release >hilversum< is very much its follow-up: al at his most unashamedly gorgeous, re-contextualising an old deutsche neue welle melody and weaving it into a characteristically intricate and beautiful piece of post-balearic loveliness. for the flip we commissioned a remix from one of europes most exciting new producers, barcelonas john talabot.

the third in struts inspiration information studio collaboration series brings together an intriguing pairing between one of africas great bandleaders, mulatu astatke, with the next level musicianship of the heliocentrics collective from the mighty roster of stones throw / now again. known primarily through the successful ethiopiques album series and the film soundtrack to jim jarmuschs ?broken flowers, mulatu astatke is one of ethiopias foremost musical ambassadors. his selfstyled ethio-jazz sound flourished during the swinging addisÑ era of the late 60s as he successfully fused western jazz and funk with traditional ethiopian folk melodies. the heliocentrics have become known as one of the uks foremost free-thinking collectives of musicians, inspired by a wide palette covering sun ra, james brown, david axelrod and all manner of psych, afro and eastern sounds. the collective have featured on records by madlib and dj shadow. now a fixture within the stones throw / now again roster, they forged their own genre-breaking directions in the astral analogue groove on their 2007 debut album, out there. a number of tour dates around the release and headline slots at festivals throughout 2009 have been confirmed.

so at last its time for misericord number two and a track we re really proud and excited to be releasing. hot on the heels of al ushers mighty gnanfou ep, mugwump deliver their finest work to date. a 107bpm club monster (for us balearic grandads this is not a contradiction in terms) entitled boutade. an extended intro with marcato strings and timpani builds the drama until a massive bassline drops and the dancefloor gets stupid. on the flip myself, naughty and sasse turn in a chugging prescription esque dub for good measure.

mike sheridan is the name of the fresh new talent emerging on mis 12th release. alt & intet is deep, mysterious and have a few hints of dub elements. its a really special track consisting of a dark, angry and hypnotic mono-groove topped off with little trippy melodies. the second track barcelona takes this release in a different direction. the deepness of this piece will make you dreamy. tom clark is on the remix duties reworking alt & intet and of course he doesnt let us down with this bumping e-tune of a track

lophi is the combination of loth de luca & philip flindt, they met eachother at a n.y.e party in 2001. they quickly found out that they shared the same passion for dirty electronic music. the sound that makes up the rather unique lophi sound, is a mixture of de lucas long lasting love affair with the darker and more minimal beat. combined with flindts flair for dancefriendly music and his craving for the melodic themes, you are left with pure audio eargasms
