gravetemple was formed in 2006 as a side-project of the band sunn o))) by oren ambarchi, stephen o malley and attila csihar. the group formed initially to tour in israel summer 06, creating several recordings which eventually became the holy down album, which was released on southern lord recordings in 2007. at the time of the israel tour, the lebanon war started and was in action. in summer 08 the trio reformed together with the addition of australian drummer matt skitz sanders for a short european tour culminating at a headlining performance at supersonic festival in birmingham. in late 2009 the original trio reconvened for a special one-off concert at londons institute of contemporary arts. april 2013 marks the first set of live action since that period, and a new chapter in the ongoing system of the related network.
ambient/ruin was created with the 2008 quartet, elements of tape collage, concrete, field recordings blend within a strong geographically diverse (parts were recorded in japan, australia, paris and israel) suite of heavy minimalist/maximalist music, black/death metal and drone. the culmination of these efforts become the music, literally, of sadistik exekution meeting phill niblock.

the rekids-affiliated pyramids of mars imprint is set to really take off in 2013, with a string of unique releases already in the pipeline. for this special remix package, label bosses matt edwards and james masters have brought in nyc house legend joaquin joe claussell to re-imagine the machines debut album redhead from 2010. but make no mistake, this isnt any ordinary remix project all the tracks have been reproduced, rewritten, dubbed, performed and mixed by joe, with the help of a group of musicians.

toronto-based duo a digital needle are purveyors of disco, funk, & soul edits, pruned for the dancefloor & subscribers to the mancuso method of deejaying, with a preference for quality sound and selection over long, elaborate mixes et al. they join forces with fellow canadian re-editor/producer cyclist to deliver a killer 4-tracker of the finest disco-funk. the release comes as red coloured vinyl in a full colour sleeve photographed by top photographer matt barnes (who has worked with snoop dogg, dimitri from paris, mike skinner, lily allen), in the vein of a lost disco lp from the 70s and looks amazing. this is the first release on tripped out records and is one hell of a debut.
