montréal native marie davidson�s unique form of synth pop has become an undeniable force in modern music, and until now her 2013 debut has only been available through digital download and limited edition cassette. on april 13, 2018 marie davidson�s newly re-mastered self-titled ep will be available for the first time on pink colored vinyl with foil stamped deluxe packaging and download code included. her debut chronicles the development of davidson before her three critically acclaimed full-length lps, high profile press coverage and headlining slots at international festivals.

we welcome gabo barranco to the omnidisc family. gabo has a recklessly curious ear for distortion. an enthusiast and creator of electronic music ranging from classic acid house to crackling ambient to venetian snares-style glitch bass assaults. on jazz d, aaaa channels his admittedly shy personality into an identity-hopping slate of ideas that s undeniably intense.

from quebec, with love is the first ep from sleazy, a project from stacy boudreault (marie davidson) and sam paquette (ginger breaker). an ode to the rural and suburban quebec experience, sleazy is the progenitor of suburban techno. sleazy made their recorded debut in april 2017 with the single que calor, released as a limited edition cassette at a party headlined by helena hauff in montreal. described by npr as equal parts inviting and menacing and pitchfork as playful and sensual music made for the family home s basement a soundtrack for all the salacious discoveries one might make in that damp, dark incubator.

the name detobeat. derives from the home cities of all parties involved in this project: de/nver (todd nickolas), to/ronto (linus booth and chris macintyre), be/rlin (gene kouzouka) and at/hens (lurid music).

given the underground acclaim heaped on marie davidson s previous albums - ultra-stylish affairs that blend elements of minimal wave, dark italo-disco, off-kilter electro and moody ambient - it s little surprise to see her popping up on minimal wave offshoot cititrax. the album s nine tracks are largely sharp, rough and fuzzy, with sparse-but-dense drum machines rhythms underpinning bouncy, delay-laden synth lines, thrusting electronics and davidson s sleazy, spoken word vocals. it s an attractive combination that guarantees thrills throughout, from the almost claustrophobic throb of -denial-, to the mutant electrofunk bounce of -good vibes-.

dark entries is honored to release dualism , the sophomore e.p. from contemporary montreal-based duo, solitary dancer. they released an eponymously titled debut e.p. on midland s label graded in late 2016 after their track

das duo essaie pas, j�ngst untergekommen bei dfa records, ver�ffentlicht sein neues album demain est une autre nuit. hinter essaie pas verbergen sich die in montreal lebende marie davidson und ihr musikalischer kompagnon pierre guerineau. die geschichte hinter dem neuen album ist gepr�gt durch einen neuanfang. als die band von ihrer ersten europa-tour zur�ck nach montreal kam, mussten die beiden erfahren, dass ihr proberaum und studio einer schnellen gentrifizierung zum opfer gefallen waren, auch ihre wohnung verloren sie nach einem streit mit dem vermieter. einen neuanfang konnten essaie pas in den industriehallen von le filles electriques wagen, einem veranstalter f�r verschiedene k�nstlerische events. this environment influenced our music, sagt pierre. the sounds are more clear and open, the production has more depth, on a full frequency range. die musik von essaie pas l�sst sich schwer in ein genre zw�ngen, vielmehr ist es ein grenz�bertritt zwischen verschiedenen sounds.
