originally released in 1986, �alkaid� was the first solo release of deca following his debut appearance on the cult various artists compilation �angelo segreti� the original edition was published in a tiny edition on the independent italian label videoradio and to this day remains a rare and sought after album. following mothball and bordello�s continued work with deca, we are proud to make this diverse and fascinating collection of music available to a wider audience. on this instrumental lp we can hear elements of modern classical, synth-pop, dark ambient and even some middle eastern influence.

deca (federico de caroli), composer and musician graduated in piano, for over 30 years is a protagonist of the italian electronic and experimental scene, then approaching to other fields such as theater, multimedia and television. he is a great summoner of dream suggestions and started from the lesson of cosmic school to arrive at a personal alchemy of tradition and innovation, clutching the paradigms of artificial sound on the natural one. he began playing in 1975 and in 1983 bought his first synthesizer starting a long process of creative evolution, playing in parallel bands that are inspired by the british new wave as joy division, the cure, killing joke and studying the dynamics of synthetic sound.

mothball record starts its 2016 release schedule with a bang by releasing their first lp. originally produced in a tiny edition of only 100 copies back in 87, this dark masterpiece from prolific italian artist deca finally appears as an official reissue on mothball (in collaboration with bordello a parigi) remastered from the original tapes. -synthetic lips- is an absolutely diverse album spanning industrial, synth-pop, ambient and even elements of new age...some tracks will hit immediately and others will reward repeated listening.
