incl ron flatter rmx!! das neu gegründete label mittel zum zweck releast dieser tage die erste vinyl. aconite, cert-8 und dj steven-x sind die macher und väter dieses projekts. nachdem sie bereits letztes jahr eine gemeinsame tour mit 19 terminen absolvierten, folgt nun das eigene label. ohne viel schnickschnack soll es sein, deshalb trägt nicht nur das label diesen namen, sondern auch das musik-projekt selbst. der titel >kankar punsum< war schnell gewählt. es ist der name des höchsten bislang unbestiegenen berges der welt. die drei jungs von mittel zum zweck wollen diesen nun musikalisch erklimmen und stellen sich in der heutigen zeit großen herausforderungen... um das packet abzurunden, haben sie sich ron flatter mit ins boot geholt, der einen amtlichen remix anfertigte, der ebenfalls wie die drei anderen mi xe durch feinsten tech-house und minimal-sounds eine heiße electro-nummer abliefert

with five beat pharmacy albums and almost a dozen vinyl releases on francois ks deep space imprint, this dubby and eclectic project of brendon moeller needs no introduction.
chugging along at 120bpm, underpinned by a thick sub-dub bassline and a modulating maurizio-style synth cord arpeggio, pump is a hypnotic slap of deep smoky house with some memorable hooks to boot. swirling rhodes keyboards and a slick piano riff serve as a lovely counterpoint to the swinging funk of the hi-hat groove. forever morphing and evolving, the stready and unrelenting groove are guaranteed to keep heads bobbing and toes tapping!
the first remix here is by echospace head honcho, stephen hitchell under his intrusion guise. stripping away and re-contextualizing the key elements in the track, hitchell crafts a warehouse-style dj-tool that subtlely weaves its way into ones subconscious via a delightful psychedelic keyboard hook.
londons bearweasel takes a similar approach, except with a much more pronounced beat track superbly trippy atmosphere. a top notch dj tool thats likely to be spun worldwide.
all round a quality release with enough sensibility and character to be played for years to come.

a1) aller retour. indeed we do like it very much, when a tune is like a punch – and this one pushes tremendous. underlaid with a sharp kick later, the strongly-held bass line involving from a small stream to an all-compelling stream. on top we receive a very un-christian boot with some oriental like organ-pipes. what more can you expect. oh by the way- there is actually a river in lower saxony with the same name like the track – however has nothing to do with it. b1) nevermind. indicate left and right over. and then a lob shot instead of a straight shot. this is a little what nevermind feels like. an assault from the deep, with a soft climax rather than with brute force. our recommendation for phasing out after an extensive club night

no matter what sounds you profess to be your dance music of choice, chances are that at some point over the last five years, you will have gotten your rocks off to matt edwards aka radio slave. in that time matt has remixed countless tunes for an incredibly-wide selection of notable labels. to boot, his touring schedule must be almost painful. so it was with great pleasure that om was able to enlist his talents to compose a tune especially for our 15 year anniversary compilation. to cut straight to the chase, orchestrating maneuvers in the dark is a rhythmic deep tribal techno groove - obscure, dissident and crunchy - with a breakdown that dissolves into thin air - only to strangely and magnificently re-materialize into his funk-induced groove.

zeep dreams finally sees the light with a massive 12inch release featuring heavyweight and veterans on the scene da lata (patrick forge & chris franck) and afronaught (bugz in the attic) punching a string of right handers and basslines to boot. underdogs and remix competition winners, john johnson and dj lk respond to the challenge with some deft footwork and some surprise dancefloor sonics keeping a truly competitive edge to proceedings.

we were dreaming about rimini and italo boot mixes, when we met this mad professor of italectro in a sleazy berlin neukölln pizza spot. he saved our day with a pearl of a dancefloor sunset. italectro - that´s a smart thing to say and that´s what we wanted. a funky italian 12inch. then tetsuo came and deliverd a nu wave prada dressed remix and added a heartbreak story. so at last frank martiniq was the boxer we needed to punch this track to a cologne style brutzel disco stomp that takes us back to reality
