picking up where the green aid ep left off, pn002 continues to encapsulate the labels ethos of delivering bass-laced custom-built club music that transports listeners to that unique place only quality club music can. title track glacier way is a pacey low slung affair that combines shimmering synths, rasping kicks and otherworldly bass breaks. another fine a side from the budding producer, and one that is sure to set the tempo across planet earth.

ednic is the italian duo of nicola di gabbia and edoardo cortopassi, and by all intents and purposes, they’re an outfit that’s on to a good thing right now. the guys make quality, analog-enriched house and techno, the likes of which comes to the fore here on puas puas, a vinyl only label that’s already featured the likes of the mole, alex piccini and carola pisaturo amongst others. first up on the exceptionally refined strands of the auberste ep sis the sounds of the original, which is a barnstorming cacophony of acid flourishes and tension-filled motifs. a track that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat for some time, it features shades of old-school electro and techno, and is the sort of track that’ll definitely rescue any ailing dancefloor. the aforementioned carola pisaturo then perks up with the first of her two remixes courtesy of her brilliant ‘church’ mix. a bumping and grinding interpretation on the original, it too keeps the suspense high, most notably thanks to a dizzying array of melodies and a series of potent basslines. her ‘botta’ remix is a more stripped back affair, albeit one that still speaks to fans of discerning fare thanks to its relentless attitude. full of shiny percussion and the odd sultry vocal smidgen, it’s further indication of a producer who looks set to enjoy an excellent 2015. this is classy stuff indeed from the puas puas label.

there are two front-cover artworks on one record: one by stefan marx, one by alex solman info: back in 2012, benjamin brunn played a heartbreaking ambient liveset at the almighty golden pudel club, hamburg. his set was recorded and released as a cd on pudel produkte. as it was the perfect soundtrack for the lazy days at smallville recordstore, we all felt the urge to release this on vinyl- and during a blurry smallville night at pudel, we decided to do it. benjamin cut out two parts of 20 minutes each and here it is as a limited recordstore day 2015 item. there are 2 front covers on this fullcover sleeve- one from stefan marx and one from alex c.i.a solman, the king of pudel-related artworks and mfoc.

the swedish label dirty hands strikes back with double force. this motor driven techno 12 is hard to hide from. labelboss per hammar says when patrick gave me this track, i played it in every set for the 3 months. when he later told me that he hasnt found a home for it, we said in choir ‘lets do a dirty hands release out of it!. and after that moment, all my previous plans for the label was deleted. with patricks ruthless original combined with per hammars jungle sounding edit on the flip, this release isnt anything but a key into the producer duos minds.

with a well nourished upbringing in the belfast house and techno scene, chris hanna has proved himself as an artist that knows what works in a club. with a plethora of upfront underground releases on made fresh daily and extended play already under his belt, chris is set to follow the wave of artists who have cut their teeth on ireland’s vibrant underground circuit to take on the world’s electronic scene.

herva, of delsin, kontra, mos and all city fame, offers another set of forward-thinking dancefloor bombs. across four tracks this young italian demonstrates his unique interpretation of the past and the future again and again. herva is the artist name of herve atsè corti. he was born in 1991, and has been surrounded by music from the beginning thanks to his family. he made a reputation for himself early on at high school as a talented drummer, but, intrigued by electronic music he decided to start making his own beats with a laptop. a few years later bosconi records released his early productions, both as herva both and as life’s track (a side project with dukwa). he is also part of tru west, a collective he founded with mass prod, rufus and raffaele amenta.

2014 was a great year for glenn astro, but appearances on dj kicks (brandt brauer frick) and brownswood among other labels, numerous remixes, and a string of beautifully-crafted eps already look set to be eclipsed in 2015. the essen-based producers collaboration ep with max graef will launch their new label money $ex records in january, while his debut lp is to follow on tartelet records in the spring

starting in 1990 recording for sheffield label ozone records under the name of panic with a release called voices of energy, which was then licensed to buzz in belgium, buzz 001, buzz then went on to release classics by carl craig and derrick may. he set up his own label in the same year solid groove records. the label had 30 vinyl releases over thirteen years and tracks were licensed by derrick may, terry francis, pete tong, adam x, and carl cox.as well as this he ran another four other label s, textures, dark, dot, and cheap knob gags.

argentina has a rich history when it comes to dance music and gonzalo solimano is one of the countrys finest electronic flag-bearers. with his unlock recordings imprint he has created a heavy back-catalogue that the likes of barem, guti, luca m and daniel sanchez have all contributed to. after a short break solimano is back with his *factor h* ep and the original mix is a tropical, cow bell laden treat, one that sums up the nation’s sound nicely. on remix duty is both fase and fellow argentinian maestro guti. the producers last full-length was the jazz-inspired *rompecorazones* and now a remix lp is set to follow but here we focus on his amazing edit of *factor h*. guti has maintained the percussive elements of the original but added a significant amount of groove and focused on adding in thick kick drums and more drive. it is one you can imagine on the terraces or at 4am in a darkened room and this is why guti is such a don. pressing on green marbled vinyl)

its with great pride (and a certain sense of defiance!) that tom and i present you with the 200th freerange release. despite the best efforts of three bankrupt distributors, an arsonist (who set the sony warehouse ablaze back in 2012) and a volatile market, we retained the fire in our bellies, a stiff upper lip, and most importantly an unrelenting passion for electronic music, we soldiered on and here we are at freerange 200!

supported by ben klock, dvs1, marcel fengler, minilogue, joel mull, claude young, roman lindau, dustin zahn, speedy j, paul mac, alan fitzpatrick, laurent garnier and many more. we are very proud to present ray kajioka’s debut album “en route”. most of the album was premiered in rays live-set during our 20 years of kanzleramt celebration at berghain. others have been shaped and tested over 10 years to find the right frame to release on an album. our mastering engineer, who is recovering from surgery, said >the album is very therapeutic< and >the work on rays album helped me heal<. this is proof to us, that rays magic on >en route< can uplift your soul, especially in spring.

recent output has seen dorisburg pushing into deeper realms. computer drumming are some further steps in these explorations of 4/4 rhythms and acoustic depth. with a wide range in tempo, the track titles offers aid for the venturous. a1 is a reduced jam of echoing percussion that never sees the entry of a kick drum. a2 compensates with bouncing bass and a playful array of drumming elements entering and dropping off in a bold tempo. exiting on a more well established pulse, the b side consists of the deepest and most mysterious offering from dorisburg to date. distant bells and chimes and a grand formation of percussion meets thundering bass in an encounter set on vast grounds.

volume one of a two-volume twelve-inch set featuring tunes from eamon harkin and justin carters mix cd, weekends and beginnings. this volume features a beatless ambient acid journey from bass clef, an obscure gem from nebraska, and a long sought after maurice fulton remix of alice smiths love endeavor. maurices remix is cut to a full side of vinyl at 45rpm, and both sides were mastered by the ever extraordinary matt colton. it sounds phenomenal!

adult only shape is back with an intriguing collaboration, between the mysterious frenchie monsieur georget and young parisian talent le loup. a combination of the old skool with the new skool, the sounds are just that. each take a pounding bass and a solid minimal-tech stance and layer their character on top. a1 is scattered with futuristic bleeps and computerised murmurs, interspersed with reminiscing vocals, while a2 is the most raw in nature, with a tough techno feel until the smooth overtones set in and a feeling of euphoria takes over. but some may say b1 is say arguably the standout track, for its intoxicating vocal and irresistible underlying swing and groove.

the groove brothers, aka jef k and rhythm&soul, keep things moving with the second release on their fledgling label, on a mission records. it’s been seven months since the label’s debut, demonstrating the duo’s considered approach to their outlet, which has been set up to capture the true spirit of house music, basing its ideals on some of the industry’s most respected labels and keeping that timeless, classic ethos alive. this second release unites the label owners with a couple of newcomers to the scene. retaining the sultry outlook of the first release the groove brothers inject jazzy notes and smooth funky rhythms into their music, while mr ks and kub follow in a similar vein with their well-crafted contributions. ks expanding on the jazz theme, while kub takes a more sensual pathway. julio bashmore today premieres brand new track rhythm of auld. like recent single simple love, its set to feature on bashmore s forthcoming debut album which is due for release in february on his own broadwalk label. rhythm of auld is another brilliant collaboration with vocalist j danna (who also featured on simple love) and is the second 12inch in a series of vinyl releases bashmore will put out in the run up to the album.

currently causing quite a stir on the underground, the jerome hill remix of marshall jeffersons s trax classic lost in the groove is a complete re-interpretation, solid jacking (hard) house music using the original vocal that s cut loud onto the vinyl and worms inside your head and has been doing serious damage in the clubs and festivals last year. now with all licensing and red tape cleared away, it s set for release. dancer boom boom is actually a collaboration between acid legend adonis and sidney winters, with a mix down by house legend frankie knuckles. this sat on the b side of am a dog on trax records and is rare & obscure to say the least, but once the needle touches the groove you know it s a killer. massive kick drums and mysterious organ scales, this one is a mad mad tune ! produced in 1987 (and sounding like nothing else from that year) it s been given a very slight and very respectful re-arrangement by jerome hill, remastered and cut super loud. strictly limited and if the previous titles on the label are anything to go by, this one will sell out equally quick.
