MANASYT VS CESTRIAN EP
12 Inch
20.06.08
split ep of dark metallic hard-fun from the human shield mixing funnel. manasyt leaves his manners at home and takes the a side by force with two solid cuts of pure industrial horror: wrist sewing leaves little to the imagination whilst his bloc 08 set opener vibro speeds up the synth suspense until your loins are sore and your mind is truly spent. overworked and underpaid north wales bedroom musician cestrian (bunker/monox) softens the blow just a bit on the reverse with his hearse giving you the perfect funeral, driving off into the near distance with dead waves and metallic shards of fluctuating hiss. the stately anti funk of rizzla teeth brings us to a conclusion with gun metal grey sneers of contempt and harrowing neg vibe downer skree. suit up and dig in!

james hammer storms the a with a bright hypnotic groove on solid beats that displays a definite mills influence that is sure to have the floor heaving & perfect for the mix. flip for label boss gus brown taking things in a darker direction, heavier snares & a buzzing bass used to maximum effect. then techno legend orlando voorn steps ups for the final remix & slams down a harder remix that builds on the original groove & twists it over and over to finish the record perfectly.
RUBBER DOLL EP (XPANSUL REMIX)
12 Inch
06.06.08
dj-support by adam beyer, alexi delano, paco osuna!! on his 2nd ep on aesthetik brian james shows his true colours. dark, deep and stripped down techno with a solid old school, almost chicago-esque feel to it. rubber doll instantly grabs you through its simplicity and efficiency. pulsating beats, a mental bassline with a slight bleepy feel to it. a true techno dj s delight. madrid s techno maestro xpansul turns rubber doll into a harder edged techno stomper. edgy technoid sounds and xpansul s trademark dark rhythmic craziness makes this track essential to any self-respecting techno jock! panic in detroit is again a typical brian james throbbing techno piece for when dancefloors go into >mental mode<. bubbling custard takes a more experimental direction, reminiscent of early dark model 500 tracks, but jacked up in brian s very own wickedness.

MOONLIGHT EP
12 Inch
26.05.08
for flash lützenkirchen delivers three very classy dancefloor burners. first up there is >enter the moonlight<, an enchanting piece of thumping peak time business. a big bass, pumping beats and some great oriental sounds combined with far-out effects create a unique atmosphere. modern styles meet oldskool feelings! >on the shore< is even more oldskool than that. the fat and wobbly bassline pushes the track forward and creates the perfect antagonism to the warm effects and clicky minimal beats. the highlight - however - is the wonderfully written melodic piano piece that turns this track from wicked into wow! beautiful and tough, oldskool and fresh, slick and funky - all at the same time. this one is going to be huge. listen for yourself! at last there is >pokemon companion<, a more direct and solid piece of minimal tech. a drumn bass like powerfully grumbling bass, and yet another memorable synthie pattern that seems to grow out of the buzzing loop like a spring flower out of wet grass - naturally and wonderful!
HAMLIN / SASCHA DIVE DUB
12 Inch
26.05.08
played by karotte, sebo k, shinedoes... >hamlin< leads us down a path so groovy, its hard to resist this dreamy tale from the very beginning. steady pushing drums define the tracks mood, amounting to a tactful combination of classic deep house vibes flowing freely against solid and functional percussive elements. drifting late night synths and childlike, ethereal chants osmose the mind of the listener, warming and arousing, spreading only positive energy on the dancefloor. deep vibes rec sascha dive takes hamlin off on his own trip, elegantly stripping down the groove of the original and spacing things out even further. this mix is a pure and prolonged snapshot of the orignals travelling mood, building the groove in subtler steps, emphasised by dives treatment of the chanting, spinning vocals and playful, live arrangement. opening with the same finely strung groove as >hamlin<, >snowflakes< introduces a beautiful and delicately dubbed melody amongst its bubbling rhythms

the superb disco deviance crew look forward to the summer sizzle with two wonderful edits by nu-disco don pete herbert (reverso 68/lsb). having forged a rock solid musical reputation with his and phil misons reverso 68 project, pete has also built a reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the dj booth. known for his love of the balearic disco sound, ph is part of the new breed of djs who are continuing the dj edit tradition by creating their own versions of classic and lost tracks for their dj sets. first up on this release is the amazing >dont let go< by tony orlando of dawn and tie a yellow ribbon round the ol oak tree fame. this track was tonys take on the disco sound and with its lush strings and mellow instrumentation it is a highly infectious, yet lesser known piece of disco history. a staple of ph dj sets this track is a definite killer summer groove. on the flip, the synth led italo disco sounds of ivans >fotonovela< are given the ph make over and turned into yet another balearic disco bomb. enjoy, play it loud and keep good music alive ! dj play: laurent garnier, greg wilson, ashley beedle, popular peoples front, jd twitch (optimo), faze action, the unabombers, jg wilkes (optimo), bill brewster, tim sweeney (bis), jim stanton (horse meat disco), harri (subculture),stu patterson

phonogenics >postcard< is slow burner, building and rising to a eventual climax of melancholic underwater deepness. this song will no doubt be played by those in the later time slots and anyone who wants to add a little journey to their mixes. our main man dex aka dave barker is back with another slice of some quality melodic quirky goodness. >yikes!< has a very chopped up funk/soul feel mixed with solid house beats. studio trickery and a hidden japanese opera helps the track evolve from its soulful beginning to another world entirely. finally, we are very pleased to bring you the first of many musical efforts from amantu wilde. not much is known about amantu as he is a bit of a recluse and does not offer up much information about himself. >g-g-got my eyes on you< is a very retro sounding track reminiscent of some classic new wave jams. pseudo industrial percussion and excellent filter work make this track something to remember. something strange for sure but we think people will like the break from the mod rn sounds
goncalo m is a new name in the impressive roster of yin yang. goncalo is a big dj in portugal and his style is dynamic, full of percussions, and yet at the same time very groovy and hard. this release is just that! in other words perfect for the dancefloor! also including a very solid remix by dj mika!!

good news from the merkur kunst headquarters, a.k.a the japanese diaspora embassy: our attempt to enrich berlin cultural activities with a japanese interpretation of electronic music has found its voice with a first 12inch vinyl release. merkur 01 features gonno, a tokyo based artist who already released on uks perc records and japans wc recordings. his track >es< is a pulsating dancefloor twister build on a solid bass substrat rising with warm and tripped out pads. the flipside brings two tracks by merkurboss shingo suwa. he operates the japanese machines in a classic chicago style - percussive, hypnotic and with this specific grasp only the inventors can provide. these tracks are well made uptempo technotunes with a slight touch of aristrocratic reserve
