our dear friend and oslo label mastermind federico molinari returns on raum, this time together with his mate alexis cabrera. both of them are hailing from argentina but currently are living in berlin. there they also met and decided to start this project together. these two jams are the first result now and we hope you like them as much as we do!

kicking off with acid-soaked stepper x da05 sees the uk imprint continue to explore the darker recesses of the dancefloor. a bottom end as deep as you like combines with razor sharp percussion on this basement techno workout. the sound design of black science (version) warps the bleep techno blueprint into a swaggering half time roller before black science itself arrives. this dramatic piece merges tense, millsian atmospherics with stratospheric strings to create a timeless piece of expansive sci-fi techno. the filth ridden debris, a bottom-heavy groove for those of a serious disposition, rounds off another killer four track salvo of techno futurism from this on-point label.

another recent masterpiece from the rising barcelona label “modern obscure music”. this time the label is introducing a 12’’ with two long lasting analogue jams made from synthesizers like moog voyager and the mythical juno 80 on abstract rhythms created with a powerful roland 909. this is an essential record for collectors of relics focused on the club. to the mysterious, exotic and even tribal vibe, the record label adds a remix by daniel martin-mccormick, best known as ital, who has recently published his 3rd album with mike paradinas (planet mu) apart from also presenting some pieces from his own record company lover’s rock or in the prestigious workshop house. remixes by jmii and pettre, aster’s ex-band components, are also added in the digital version of it.

nebraska is someone who’s tracks we’ve been loving for a good few years now and finally managed to pin him down for a release here on delusions of grandeur. the uk producer is something of an enigma, and despite some amazing releases on rush hour still remains resolutely underground and seems to keep his releases to a minimum, focusing on keeping the quality high rather than flooding the market with average material. once again, he brings the real deal with three drum-heavy warehouse jams to nice-up the dancefloor. aw-right (mute version) sets the tone with a raw house groove that keeps things stripped to the bare minimum. a bouncing bassline and rattling percussion break help to define the track but it’s the dusty, dubby approach to the mix which really makes the track shine. next up we have warp and weft, a similar sounding track but by dropping the bpm’s nebraska has created a sublime low-slung, bumpy groove to really move to. flipping over we’re treated to the brilliant eighty eights which will have you nodding your head like the churchill’s dog before you can say ‘looped up piano and bass one bar groove repeated for over eight and a half minutes shouldn’t work should it?’

hotel victoria is the debut ep from two talented editors from poland, holiday 80. holiday 80 inherited a massive collection of wax at a very early age, inciting a deep and lifelong respect for vinyl and the dark grooves. this instilled a profound love not-to-be-contained by a single genre. each song on this palette reflects that diversity and spectrum. from the smooth intro on kto da&#322, nam deszcz with its easy groove to the boogie-blaze of bez tego i owego. the rolling synth bass and sizzling strings of zabawa w stylu folk are at once dark and light in a tense contrast. as comfortable on the b2 as in the basement, we hear the acidic melodies of teleniedziela.

after teaming up with sawlin to deliver a series of spacy texture works, dubbed foreign awake pt.1 & pt.2, subjected returns to electric deluxe this time in searing solo guise. known for his thundering, no-holds-barred basement style, which until foreign awake was kept purely to his cloistered vault series outlet, with dolor we see the industrial edges polished smooth in this rotund and rolling three-track ep.

after one year since the first release night visions, the nightdrivers team is back for another race on their own imprint with a bunch of fresh, obscure and rolling bangers named nightlights: the record starts with the mutant and spastic tech funk of the epic bright lights, a totally sweat walled basement track where a dirty, crispy and crunchy disco break combines with an edgy, syncopated 909 driving beat while a cheeky melody of party-bells going slightly out of tune runs on the top of it.

stockholms dungeon acid returns with one of the strangest, nastiest acid records to date.carnal knowledge is caveman techno, one chord hammered with hypnotic precision, a two-note acid line adding an air of polyrhythmic mystery. the heavily processed sounds of copulation comprise the bulk of the atmosphere, the whole thing feeling like an alien, updated version of lil louiss immortal french kiss. the instrumental version is a slightly swingin’ variation on the same theme. dungeon acid principal jean-louis huhta is known for editing the sweetest parts from his hardware enduro-jams. the bonus beats title for b2 is a bit of a misnomer in fact, these are the sounds of mutant, futuristic lovemaking in all their glory, perfect for sexing up otherwise sterile dance music. get some!

a club in the parthenon basement where you cant see in front of you, you lose yourself as the antipodean heat beat surrounds you. this is the latest imagination of melbourne-based band leader nicolaas oogjes. marrying into a greek family (his wife contributes spoken word on two tracks), oogjes became fixated with hellenic culture and its impact on humanity, prompting his rotating cult of collective consciousness musicians no zu to spiral deeper into their celebration of global rhythm and percussion. their even weirder, sparser and more synth driven sound is the result of creative exchanges with home loan records ceo michael ozone, who helped them realise the strange and complete world of medusa music.

it has been a long time between drinks for german band bambi - and it is something of a triumphant return, too. last time we heard from them, back in 2000, they were a post minimal rock duo comprising of guitarist/vocalist robin van velzen and drummer hans christian fuss. a decade and a half of live improvisation and a multitude of collaborations later, they return as a balearic rock four-piece. the bands newest members, former mountaineer man frank mollena and sofia fuss, were asked to join following a particularly successful series of live collaborations and improvisational jams. through balearic post-rock territory, with van velzens weary, emotional vocals riding a wave of vibrant colours, backwards hazy, intoxicating and evocative, it sounds like a horizontal anthem in the making. one sided, hand numbered, limited to 500 copies.

following up on the highly successful classic chicago tracks e.p., dj duke takes us even deeper with another volume of chicago legends and pioneers, spanky, danell dixon, felix da housecat and nate williams. again, the raw stompers are re-edited by duke for the ultimate dance experience. remastered and repressed in conjunction with power music records.

the long awaited ms 08 is a split e.p between techno-rave unit minimum syndicat and the kosmik kommando, aka mike dred (rephlex, r&s, machine codes), one of the true creators of acid techno, once called the jimi hendrix of the tb-303, and partner of richard d. james within the legendary universal indicator project. no beardy hipster techno, no bullshits, just pure analog strobe-jams from the vault of rave.

while their sporadic appearance remains a frustration, it s hard to find fault with boe recordings halal prepared series of eps. this third installment of the series, which lands 12 months after it s predecessor, contains another quarter of high quality deep house jams. the real highlights - to our ears, at least - are the two tracks that doff a cap to classic detroit techno, whilst keeping their feet firmly rooted in deep house. both -star struck- by chicago deep and havantepe s -plane waves- capture the retro-futurist spirit and stargazing electronics associated with the motor city perfectly. elsewhere, keep an eye out for taelue s -desolate dreams-, which offers a bittersweet trip into ultra-deep house territory.
