following up the fantastic summer re-release of upsetting keys “empathy” ep, path records follows with its first new catalogue number since 2006. path 008 marks the return of artist fate 258, whose 1999 “why 2k” path 001 ep has been a hotly sought after item on discogs. the three-track ep contains two exciting new mixes of cult classic techno track “the path”. the a-side version “path to hell” is the harder of the pair, a dark edgy journey into the unknown with shuffling 808 rhythms providing much of the melody. “path to heaven” slows the groove down and adds warm juno pads throughout the mix for a very deep detroit flavored techno style. on the final track “heaven or hell” sort of a broken beat downtempo piece, sparse vocals and bladerunner samples mix to complete the dystopian concept. these mixes of “the path” are considered pre-mixes, as they were completed in 1998 before the original release of path 001. fate 258 is a project from brooklyn producer reade truth, known for his work over the last decades on labels such as planet e, sonic groove, n-syde, wurst and strictly rhythm to name a few. limited to 250 worldwide, with the first 100 including full black and white cover art.

starting in 1990 recording for sheffield label ozone records under the name of panic with a release called voices of energy, which was then licensed to buzz in belgium, buzz 001, buzz then went on to release classics by carl craig and derrick may. he set up his own label in the same year solid groove records. the label had 30 vinyl releases over thirteen years and tracks were licensed by derrick may, terry francis, pete tong, adam x, and carl cox.as well as this he ran another four other label s, textures, dark, dot, and cheap knob gags.

mumble ltd. 001 is the first from our vinyl release series. this various artist ep features tracks from close friends and artists that have been supporting the label for quite some time. the release features a carefully selected deep and dance floor oriented music. label owner just_me teams up with the london based producer tileff to deliver the a side of this record. to complete the va romanian herck and belgian glico deliver two strictly groovy pieces.

berlins away music imprint extends a warm welcome here with its debut release, a label inspired by the spirit of the >away< series of parties they have taken from berlin to barcelona, with a launch release from compatriot christian vance. fuelled by an uncompromising ethos that will see the ep via a limited run of 350 vinyl copies, vance is supported on >away music 001< by remixes from nuno dos santos and label bosses discrete circuit themselves. lead record >mustang fm< offers the perfect example of vances polished production talents, a groove-driven techno number that simmers with a midwestern pulse around the edges. the grittiest of the offerings you will find on this ep, its propelled by the twisted riff at its center, around which vance skillfully deploys a cast of hi-hats to compliment his bouncy percussion. strictly limited to 350 copies

fvonk is ready to start on an adventure full of housey tunes and positive vibes. for record number 001 drei farben house from berlin lives up to the labels name and delivers three highly funky tracks which draw their inspiration from warm and melodic soul and disco music from back in the days. 70s inspired vocals and bass guitars dominate these pieces and are combined with fluently rolling drums, altogether carrying drei farben house s characteristic thumbprint. the artwork of the record has been concieved by till sperrle who is also known for his graphic design for dial and tenderpark. mastering and lacqeur cut have been realised by stefan betke at scape mastering.

a dream and a trip into de pure house music, subtle and dynamic born with this 001 of discos nutabe. from the aburra valley, colombia, perpetuating the essence of music in time with limited vinyl copies is their purpose. for this first cut, we present the debut of dcm with his origenes, a record that has a very noble sentiment: the revival of classic house music which only causes movement, in body and soul.

the second release of inkblots involves three great artists deeply active into the international techno scene: the japanese go hiyama and the berlin based duo i/y. on side a, go hiyama’s first track ‘recur’ delivers sinister atmospheres matched with a tough kick and industrial bleepy elements. slow and paranoic drones get in and out contributing to enlarge the sound perception. the second track ‘prop’ introduces elegant hi-hats and strident synths. a captivating kick perfectly embraces the shrill synths waving together with the sharp drum, what remains of the first side is just tense ambients, forewarning the journey is not over. side b smells like a dark club firing up, indeed i/y’s aim is not different at all. ’thesys 0000.001’ debuts with a thin bassline and distorted grave surroundings. the track evolves with clean slap hats sound in an empty echo chamber. deep timbres rise and fall, turning the entire route gently aggressive. the second track is an idm experiment which keeps a trippy approach and the clarity of claps and hi-hats. solid as the first one, ‘thesys 0000.003’ sets itself as an hypnotic but pleasant moment where suspicious fragments quickly appear and disappear: a sparkled trip to be enjoyed anytime but not by anyone.

r002 sees a long-time jaunt favourite deepa & biri, take centre stage. the israeli duo have long been considered expert producers by those in the know, with releases on the likes of gigilo, transmat and their own black crow imprint very much indicative of the fact. the basement cuts ep, meanwhile, goes some way to solidifying this fledgling reputation. full of psychoactive tendencies and brimming with otherworldly sounds, the title track sees the pair delve deep, as they summon up a cut thats notable for its obsessive eye for detail and an unfurling array of captivating sounds.

odd even is the new label project from andre kronert. created as a wide open space and blank canvas for friends and peers to release music that andre himself will include is his dj sets. odd even is a playground for both music and art, with each release receiving a full vinyl press and exclusive cover artwork.
001 is from the label boss himself and features the stripped, staccato sounds of the title track and the stealthy purring acid of isolation. the labels first remix selection sees andre look to argentina and two of the countries finest musical exports, jonas kopp and pfirter. both take terminus into tougher territory where kopp twists the piercing note of the original and pfirter assaults us with his blistering drum work.
