it seems that dapayk used to listen to a lot of hip-hop when he was younger. his latest ep for still vor talent >let go< has got these influences written all over it. the title track starts out with a male vocal and some sounds that sound a little like scratching before things then quickly head into the direction of the club. the vocal by singer camara could not be more reminiscent of 80s house music and this track has got all the soul and groove of this era. beneath the delicate vocal and sound patterns lies a wonderfully simply staccato house groove that is sure to get everyone shuffling. on the flip things get a little more techy with >nneka<, a deeper and more melodic tech house glider that gently takes the listener towards a harmonic state of mind. beautifully arpeggiated pads, a warm soulful groove and some reverbed vocals make this one. last up is the sample-based tech-house stomper >upyo< featuring production partner jon hester. this is loop heaven: a pushy beat loop with many snares, reverse samples and an unexpected saxophone melody make this one the perfect changeover track from warm-up to peak-time. this ep shows dapayks skills to combine many musical influences into his unique still of tech-house music

orlando voorns original of >unpredictable love< is an great melodic and soulful detroit techno track. the remix on the flip is the interpretation of the analog roland orchestra, who impressed us again with his remarkable musicianship and soundwork. it remains only to say: deep, soulful and timeless.

niconé is back on stil vor talent with his very much loved project that has already brought us an absolute scorcher on stil vor talent before. again he features the wonderful vocal of narra on this hypnotically happy percussive house affair >caje<. the original track grooves on some free swinging percussions and a softly moving house loop making this a very subtle killer for any afterhour. while narras vocals carry the track as light as a feather it is after the breakdown that things get really musical! for the remixes stil vor talent has aligned a high-quality and diverse array of current top-notch producers. things go dark, minimal and very technological with pan-pots take on >caje< that still keeps a very soulful element in its approach. then, berlins coolest kid on the block adam port knows that every track gets better with a lot of claps-and he sure is right in his interpretation of >caje<. this is one of these tracks that sucks the listener in so deep that there is simply no escape: repetitive yet constantly changing and constantly grooving while remaining very pure! for his very soulful groove dirty doering adds some wonderfully melodic synths and guitars to his track that turn >caje< into an even more summery house affair. this release is filled with tracks that will long echo on the dancefloor!

echolettes second release manzanillo 002, follows up with a similar tropical -journey feeling- as felt on echolettes first release, perhaps setting the style for this excellent new label. whereas before it was pygmys and bongos, this time manzanillo has a distinctly more mexican, if not aztec vibe. the original mix kicks off with steady galloping horse like drums and percussion, which is suddenly met by a lovely melodic bassline, which again is doubled up with what sounds like a xylophone. just as your wondering where its all going, a wicked little riff with delayed minimal vocal slices enter the mix keeping the groove going on and on forever and ever... another brilliant and quality piece of music from jackie misfit

boys noize and housemeister, 2 good old friends from berlin with a lot of love for analog found together again to rave in the studio. after their first collaboration in 2006 under the name of eastwest, they are now brining us 3 new jams you don¥t want to miss. shizzo is the track youd probably expect from these 2 f..ckers:loud, noizy and stupid! its up and down parts shake the club like you were sitting in a rollercoaster - beware this is not for everyone. nbaxx is a new breakbeat track. breakbeat?yeah! with a hint of inspiration by lfo freak, this one comes quite minimal but hard, just the way these buddies like it. saturday the secret a side on this maxi is a disco-tech track, with moving arpeggios and big melodic break where spheric disco pads cool you down before you and the kids jump up to this piece of 2011 disco music.

the title track >juneau< comes at you with force, grace and a warm low end perfect for a late night or an early morning. pier bucci and crazy larry aka glacier really work the knobs and controls to create a melodic yet refined sound. this is definitely the most emotional track on the release, usually evoking quite a response from the dance floor. play this at the right time and you will have a smile on your face for sure.

cult swedish producer and multi-instrumentalist tiger stripes arrives on audiomatique with this incredible new three track ep. a monstrous lesson in modern minimalism, ah-64 pumps with a dark yet funky inner power thats felt even stronger after the sinister string laden break. slow building and totally infectious this trippy late-nighter is built for the big rooms and will have you reaching for the lasers in no time. on a slightly lighter tip, how we feel warms us with funky, energetic percussion in a modern and positive tech-house jam. with smooth future house keys and plenty of details its a straight forward floor burner. back to detroit city takes us right there, deep, dubbed and melodic this retrospective workout features delicate melodies laden above yet more warm, powerful and driving beats. continuing, elongating and drifting, its a perfect conclusion to the ep.

specialist interest is back!! with a huge release from mr. pete herbert, a tremendous release to inject a new lease of life into the label. a1: well heeled - melodic bass line with snyth stabs and arpeggio, a very big room sound. the track builds with a great groove and very spacey sounds. killer track!! a2: earthy powers - popping synth line really makes this track! gentle bass adds to the groove and widens the sound with a funky guitar riff adding an organic feel. vocal is a brilliant addition.

huge nick curly 12 inch 2011 starts with a blast !! big with: loco dice, tiefschwarz, reboot, dj sneak, sascha dive, tobi neumann, simon baker, 2000andone, daniel stefanik, sebo k, gregor tresher, monika kruse, raresh, tim green and many more... cécille starts in 2011 with a huge release of the label owner nick curly. nick shows with this record his experiences over the last year. the a side azylum starts with a beautiful melodic string and takes the listener in a world of wonder, darkness and magic. second track on a side named arkum, goes forward to the dancefloor and is definitly a big groover. the long b side with cozumel is more hypnotic and a typical massive nick curly track.

after an incredible whirlwind of a year lee foss returns to the culprit fore with >your turn girl<. foss is the labels most consistent and prolific artist with this ep being his fourth release, solo or as part of hot natured. it is safe to say, lee has become one of the pillars around which culprit is being built. the >your turn girl ep< carries foss signature hallmarks: melodic funk-infused basslines, vocal hooks that grab you from the off and a smooth electronic edge. lees incredibly emotive sound makes him stand out even in the current glut of soulful dance music washing over the global scene. your turn girl – the title track is an epitome of foss >ominous funk< style, playful yet with a distinctly sultry edge. yet another memorable r n b female vocal bit sits on top of some of lees own best synth work. and driven by a killer analogue bassline. >pyramid scheme< –bristles with the disco-inspired propulsive energy. an acid-flecked low end, that comes to the fore mid-way through, a swirling guitar sample, the crisply sharp drums add up to the releases, perhaps, most hands-in-the air moment. >cabin party< continues the themes lee explored with his mega successful hot creations ep. foss eschews the standard house beat yet again, opting for his most organic drums yet, stunningly conceived textures and melodies, with another pair of vocal hooks to die for. finally >warriors< has been a staple of many a culprit dj set for the best part of 2010. lees trademark combination of a terrific electronic bassline, and an unabashedly emotional sample work make for a deep house stand-out tinged with a sense of nostalgia.

desolat is happy to announce a new 12inch by giuseppe cennamo. born in naples, italy in 1980, giuseppe took to the turntables at age 13. following the legacy of fellow napolitanos like marco carola, danilo vigorito and davide squillace, he took the inspiration of classic house and melodic synths to build his own brand of tech. his tracks on several labels got a lot of peak time play and caught the ears of loco dice. fortuitously, after a break to clear his head, mr cennamo decided to take the inspiration of a loco dice dj set to create something specifically tailored for desolat, which resulted in this release.this particular slice of vinyl is aimed squarely at the djs - with the title track amanecer digging deep into the pads, a cantering kick and gentle swing that hints at detroit forefathers. cuando tu quieres stomps its heels and morphs into a very whimsical bouncing house burner: plenty of fun to be had with this one. dejame asi feels like a spaghetti western re-imagined with the help of a conical moving laser beam, a childrens choir and a bag full of kazoos while the rest of nothing is a reduced, pinocchio-like percussion-driven track with an insistent bassline

one would be curious as to what a track such as this one would sound like. images and visuals floating through your head as you press play, the airy, angelic pad intro induces you into a trance-like state before soothing piano lines and a pitched-up vocal reminiscent of the early hardcore era takes you away. as the drums come in with a half-time feel, it is easy to imagine japanese taiko drummers playing their part. once the break takes hold, a short span of melodic heaven uplifts before the drums take control again.

after several hot tunes on worthy’s anabatic imprint, birminghams tom flynn joins the ranks of the dirtybird crew. i ve battle tested the a-side of this record all around the world. >catch that bird< is a rare mix of deep rooted funk whilst also sounding like a caribbean jungle track pitched down to 126. my favorite!
i d play this ep just on the strength of the a-side but i feel like a lot of attention will also be given to the b-side called >rhode island<. this is a classic piece of deep house with all the melodic elements of a dirtybird jam.
tom sent me at least 7 tracks before i signed these so the guy is certainly prolific and i expect to hear quite a bit more from this up and comer this year.

here it is, the third release on the snuff crew label snuff trax! on snuff trax 003 you find winter in june. you might already know this track from the snuff crew livesets. winter in june is maybe the most melodic snuff trax release so far. this floating music is not only for the body - it s also something for the heart. on the b-side, dance disorder, who release on labels like bpitch control, deliver a fantastic and very epic remix. this mix was also already played by snuff crew in their set for tim sweeneys beats in space show. stx 003 is limited to 250 hand-numbered vinyls.

chaim avital brings a glow to revellers hearts. the producer and dj from tel aviv is loved like a star for his melodic dancefloor elegies. this charming musician has opened up house music to his own unique sound cosmos, he takes delight in a new and distinct spectrum of emotions. he unlocks the club cosmos, moulds moods and sounds into a universal pop language and seduces us with enchanting grooves. this first single from his debut album >alive<, due for release in february, fills the listener with euphoric longing. the sweet, intimate surrender of >u & eye< takes your breath away.

a spiral of evolving and heady, sample-laden tracks unfurl on paco osunas latest ep, a richly produced melding of continent-spanning talent, with paco partnering up in the studio with real-life amigos daniel sanchez, alex under, joseph capriati and alexi delano. the amigos ep presents driven, moving grooves with satiating build ups, over densely-layered samples and drums. osunas seasoned skill-sets in the dj booth and as a producer come together knowingly in this release. osuna and his dutch/spanish counterpart daniel sanchez combine melodic and percussive samples in kawuriel, whilst with madrids alex under as his cohort, osuna transfixes with waaaa - featuring a distinctive pitch shifting sound throughout its phasing. your understanding of its unusual name will become abundantly clear upon the first listen. also notable is wope, which contains woodblock-esque percussion samples that compliment the rolling bass, co-produced with italian musician joseph capriati. the eps finale, waxfix, is a combination of the talents of osuna and swedens alexi delano, resulting in another cleverly-derived arrangement of steady bass drums and strong high hats. its a well-locked and smoothly syncopated, loop-based groove

it’s with a lot of excitement that archipel’s boss himself releases a vinyl extract of his album’s favorite tracks. while the album which consist of 2 cds, we thought some of the works would fit well in the hands of collectors who would push the tunes in their quirky sets. the opening track, titled “big trouble in little cave” is one that could haunt a techno party in berlin where in the breakdown, things just go out of control and while you think you can’t take anymore, the music takes you back to earth. tests have proven to be used with care, reports indicate some people reacted with a lot of noise. “dérape totale” is perhaps a cross of four tet releasing on raster noton. awkward combo indeed but the strange structure on top of weirdly arranged percussion is set to catch your attention and draw you into an inner journey. with the chance of having manchester’s dncn join him for vocals, pheek goes with his first interpretation of what a pheekie-pop tune could be: fun, intriguing and catchy! >follow the flow< is the closing track and is one build tension with surprising exploding percussion clashes on top of melodic waves.

a1 – >10% is gone<: full bodied track, heavy melodic bass line really drives the whole thing! intro has a slight purple haze feel to it, the squealing atmospherics and percussion create a chilled ambience while at the same time the bass/kick combination keeps your head nodding! b1 – >free luv<: a very 80s sounding track, kraftwerk-esque rolling bass line. synth and strings add to this very pumping kick heavy piece! b2 – >in upper case< : highly percussive song, super deep bass and echoed and poppin synth sounds. this track really bounces: the brass section is a welcome addition along with a number of cool vocal samples. a real strong track

the young hamburg based label rennbahn records comes along with his third release. the protagonist oliver ton (int. deejay gigolo) creates 2 pumpin techno tracks with freaky vocals and a nice groove. the ep also contains a melodic, but powerful rené bourgeois and a groovy ronald christoph remix.
