we are at the end of 2011 and so it is time for a record label to find a great final for the music year 2011. after four successful releases, mimique looks back to a fantastic start and presents music from his heads and calls all of it mimique ep. andy smith, steve haze, michel laro and the frenchimport mozaic do their share and give this ep a wide fan of music which represent the label. you could call it mimique style. many tastes will be satisfied with this release and will give a sweat appetite for the next mimique music year 2012.

after the successful start of the label with taron-trekka maria colors returns with a wonderful new offering from cellule eat. the three guys from paris and mainz have already shown their talent on french label minibar, and for their release on maria colors they are moving into even deeper territories with an exciting, jazzy house track. taron- trekka are on remix duties and have created a 9 minutes long journey into hypnotic and fascinating deep house – a true masterpiece with a very unique sound. the second remix comes from drei farben house who turns the original into a fuffy and highly elegant house track full of funky drums and soulful vocals – a warm and deep black piece of music.

uncanny the label that took everyone by surprise comes with more goodness! the third artist-ep by dresden-based label comes from house- and hip hop-mastermind cuthead and is nothing less than a proper power package. with vibratin things start off as deep as the bottom of the sea. underneath cutheads dense drums there is an intense and meditating synth line which is eventually complimented by an acid figure as if it was an evil twin. brother rolls in with a mighty kick drum, before a catchy sample and not less catchy piano motives prepare for a propitiating end. with transgressions and its bass line for the bigger floors things get down to house business once again. the remaining two tracks then give an impression of what happens, if cuthead takes to the mpc for his liveset. in seram lembah und heartless cuthead combines his drumming with south east asian disco-mantras und bittersweet blues chants to heavy hip-hop-grooves. loving it!

percusa is back in 2011 with special colours, hot tunes and the third va ep! this time we start again with tracks from our greek label-mates v. sexion and bodj, also on board the mannheim duo sasch bbc & caspar, rounded up with the first release from jules & moss.

after the huge succes of its tenth release (davide squillace & guti), hideout is back with with the third slice of the deconstruction revisited series. this time, crocodile tears, which appeared on davide squillaces tutti frutti ep (ho003) got offered three amazing relectures. it all starts with mr robert dietz (cadenza, cecille ...), who delivers a super modern and energetic relecture, where intelligent synthetic percussions mess around with weird noises and processed effects. after two minutes a monophonic synths starts its battle with vocals from squillaces original to end up on a more minimal groove. gflame aka portugese techno start cisco ferreiras (the advent) relecture directly sets the tone: a nasty bassline with a crazy synth stab flies over a soft but very heavy techno beat, to evolve to an elegant tech house track (no bongos involved). finally sis, the man behind cocolino imprint, reinterpretation starts with a long intro with the kick dropping after more than 3 minutes. the melancholic feeling of the track builds into a very subtile beat with reverbered elements all over. the percussion layers and delicate melodic synths add some organic flavour to the music so the 14 minutes remix is never boring and takes you to a nice journey thru sounds. you can tell somebody was in love when making such a beautiful song. another must have from hideout!

vae victis records kicks off his records catalogue with a 4 tracks ep where raw house and techno get mixed up thru machines and then recorded on tape. the project, a 6 hands affaire, sees teaming up three of the most interesting artists of the moment: the analogue cops, duo already known for their imprint restoration records and for their moodymanns remix under the appointment moniker and blawan, the uk producer who saw his debuts released last year by imprints such as hessle audio, warp, r&s and soon on clone who represents, alongside fellows james blake, pearson sound a.k.a ramadanman and joy orbison, the young breed of talentented new uk producers. promising start for this new label!!

the singular threads of the musical fabric that is barrio weedwagon are too numerous and long to trace the beginnings. however, the story does indeed have a start. the spark first took flame on a dance floor deep in the heliopolis favela of são paulo, brazil. after this initial shared out of body experience about 2012, barrio weedwagon can best summed up in these words: emerging from a black hole in the center of the milky way galaxy, the beings who would claim the name barrio weedwagon were awakened. the steady stream of organized radio frequencies from earth became a soothing and yet tantalizing lullaby for our heroes.

after causing some stir via airplay and dj-support, the >representations< ep by alex coulton finally sees the light of day as first release on all caps records. a great start - and now watch out for the things to come!

3 years ago patrick & frederic started their marvelous career as kaiserdisco and made it to one of the most interesting acts in the global underground scene. they are not only a techno or minimal act, kaiserdisco is fascinating people all over the world cause they are producing music from lazy deep house to groovy techno, always with the right sense for the dancefloor. in the last years they remixed artists like booka shade, kosheen, extrawelt, sebastien leger, 2000 & one...., and had releases on legendary labels like drumcode, 100% pure, strictly rhythm, my best friend, global underground etc... and now it is time to start their own imprint. the first kd music release la famillia ep comes from kaiserdisco themselves. the a-side la benjamina is a typical kaiserdisco anthem. strong beats, groovy bass and a hypnotizing melody. you can feel it in every second of this track how much fun it was to produce this piece of music. especially the big break will make you go mad!! hija major on the b-side is a heavyweight techno layout. a massive rolling bassline catches you from the first second! the hole track reminds you of a fast rolling train packed full of wood. it rattles from first to last and when it falls into the breaks you can imagine it pushes the train even more and more and more...

nice price deal !!! wt records takes another expected turn by releasing a mini lp of new wave tracks from momentform. the first and most dj-able track, >momentform is fake<, spans the gap between new wave and house with 707 rhythmic patterns and raw, unedited bass lines. >selected works<, arguably the hit song on the lp, with its melancholic vocals and juno arpeggio has a way of finding its way into your brain and staying there. 6 tracks of excellent melodies and melancholy angst make this a great record for listening from start to finish.

for this first release, we give you the opportunity to grab 4 fantastic trax done by legendary detroit producer : jason grove. born in detroit, he started his career in the late 80s, dj-ing in underground parties when the techno house movement was just at the beginning. he was invited few times on detroit local stations such as wdrq & wjlb to play. some said he was at that time very close to the >wizard<, helping producing their first tracks with anthony srock as final cut. he had many opportunities during the 90s to release some of his work on various prestigious labels, however, as the guy is really hardcore & straight edge, he prefered to continue producing only with analog gears (dont ever speak to him about a computer or hell get mad !) & record his work on cassette only, selling it to indie stores & giving it to friends for some special events (birthday, graduation ect ... !). we heard this story long times ago & it was only when we were in l.a. last year at pooh-bah record shop that we finally managed to get our hands on one of those tapes (one from june 1991 & the other one done in october 1992) with some of the best & incredible music we ve heard in years, it sounded like kerri chandler before kerri chandler did even start to release any tracks ! those first tapes are finally available after a hiatus of more than 15 years on vynil only (!)

with the start of its new limited vinyl series, dresden label etui records is returning to its musical roots of the late 90s. they retrace detroit techno and simultaneously transfer dub techno into an up-to-date audio frame. the etuiltd001 monomood >oktrosis< ep is released as a black/red marble vinyl, limited to 300 copies.

living it out – perhaps the most unabashedly danceable song on janine planningtorock rostrons dfa debut album w – comes on (that is to say, seduces) in just the right ways. the song is all addictive disco, with synthesized string skitterings and rostrons voice purring out (she sounds like a futuristic eartha kitt here) a perfect melody that somehow gets even better at the chorus. its pure pleasure upsurge from beat-driven start to pizzicatto end, the kind of song that lets you know that, amidst rostrons many musical idiosyncracies, included is the ability to write a song that simply drags you out onto the dancefloor.

after the successful zenker brothers record, we continue with a solo record by dario zenker. it sounds like dario bought some healthy food, went to mcdonalds and i ate it there to provoke some marketing campaign against intensive livestock farming. we know for a fact that he has an unlimited love for good food, dirty old school hip hop, porn, broken beats and kung fu by the way. his flat on the 5th floor gets a lot of light during the summer and also heats up a lot. can you smellthe sweat? speaking of sweat, you should check out inner circles sweat. instead of a proper high 5, we would even give 6 for this one! oh what a bad way of trying to make some sense with the track title... but honestly give 6 is a hard one. well i guess its time to stop writing some weird shit and start listening...

its been two years since pawas gupta contributed an enchanting remix on sirions first vinyl release. constant communication and cooperation lead to this all in all accomplished project called >huis huis ep<. pawas productions start off smooth and impress with delightful elements and perpetual dynamic. the development of each track is rarely predictable. tempting the act of prolonged anticipation is a delicate one and leads further and further into remote realms. carried into the sec repetitive parts by finely tuned synth-boosts makes us realize the force briefly before being caught up in the hypnotic sounds again. propelling deep house with a pinch of funk and a touch of detroit - the classic yet brilliant pawas style! moon harbours chris lattner needs no long introductions. releases on nrk, einmaleins, fear of flying and luna records speak for themselves, are proof of a successful and active time. the dry yet truly ideal base frame for subtle but succinct modules for this remix is its effective substance. the static sub bass, fulminate and with an enormous thrust, is reminiscent of the miami bass age - virtuous modulations, the very complexion of mr lattner. he remains true to himself, we like!

perc traxs transatlantic duo donor / truss return to the label for the follow-up to their >indifference ep< which was released at the start of 2010. since then they have recorded and remixed for a number of high-profile labels, most notably stroboscopic artefacts to which donor contributed an ep to the labels renowned monad series whilst truss appeared on the remix ep the preceded lucys debut album.
the four tracks that form >endo< represent a new peak for the donor / truss sound with each individual section working as both a self-contained track and a quarter of the entire endo experience. together the 4 parts join together to make a complete piece of music, stretching across 23 minutes and 2 sides of vinyl.

troy pierce, marc houle & magda team up to present their first ever trio release on items & things, >down & out vol 1< - which takes its name from their newly created party series - events that are based around the dark & intimate, off the radar, and under the ground. troy pierce starts things off with >majikal<, introducing the eps dark magic with a climbing bassline, scattering, almost anxious percussion and buoyant sound effects panned throughout. ominous atmospheres and weighted textures produce a cinematic accompaniment to surveyors of uncharted terrain. building a continual tension-and-release cycle, the track is a lucid whirlwind of sonic imagery and trickery, balancing visceral sounds with the otherworldly. magda teams up with suade, a producer & friend from newcastle that we are sure to see more of, together they bring forth a true builder, a creeper, the type of track that reveals itself more with each layering sequence. a masterclass in dynamics, >fixation< is a dark groove thats haunted by a chilling vocal, wavering synth vibrato, unexpected melodies, and juxtaposes of funk. angular drums hit alongside swells of percussive echoes but, the focus of the track revolves around the bassline’s movement. as catchy as it is esoteric. marc houles >slowpe< ends the ep with a slightly slower pace, but in a disconcerting way: taking it down a few notches this one that transports the listener to the strangest dimension yet. filtered melodies start the tracks ascent, sounding like a trumpet thats been bent out of shape and played from the void. with dark textures compactly knit into a condensed wall of sound, a low-slung bassline trades places with eerie chords and sparse percussion

barcelona-born rainer grew up in california, but it was his move to london in 2007 which led him to start collaborating with cesare vs disorder, playing out around town and beginning his production career with the popular >neuralgia< under his belt. the obvious next step for him was to hitch his wagon onto the well-traveled route onto berlin where he now presents his second release on cesares serialism records. >x-berg to san diego<, a production in conjunction with the labels head honcho, a paean to his newly adopted stomping ground and the town of his youth. a tough house beat leads with a funky guitar picking out groove along the way, an oscillating vocal hovering into earshot as old-school snares jack it up.

deep purple: pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal. legends of rawk. it is about time music on vinyl gave them the start treatment. and we re starting with an album that was never before released on vinyl: purpendicular. the legendary band s 15th studio album was the first one they recorded with new guitarist steve morse, who pulled the band up to new heights and made this the most experimental deep purple album to date. there was more focus on the guitar, they used pinch harmonies, they sounded like they were having fun again, most famously so in vavoom: ted the mechanic based on a true story ian gillan once heard in a pub. the excellent riffs and awe-inspiring solos appear on two 180 grams audiophile vinyl lps, alongside the exclusive - and elusive - bonus track >dont hold your breath<.
