the boy wonder from down under, slamb, delivers his first solo ep, packing three booty poppin’ summer jams. skillfully blending boogie and r&b samples on top of his slamming house beats to bring about that infinite pleasure just in time for a hot summer.

gaja makes his south london analogue material debut with this 5-track ripper of an ep. after discussing a no holds barred approach the tracks were recorded as live takes in gaja’s studio in berlin. the result is a collection of tracks that consist of hard, noisy, mesmerizing, distorted techno.

dope plates is back with more old skool influenced breakbeat joy. the a side sees soul intent go head to head with acid lab with their mash up track clash of headz. on the b side we have a vinyl exclusive track from soul intent called move which is jammed packed full of 90s house influences while mystery alias pepsi slammer brings some serious classic slammin vinyl flavours with his track mike alert.

from his maverick techno beginnings as luke’s anger, the man born luke sanger has more recently evolved into the enigmatic duke slammer. the result is an irresistibly wonky alchemy of 1980s influenced boogie, acid, electro-funk and house.

luke sanger aka duke slammer has been a busy boy lately, from regular appearances at berlin s infamous panorama bar, to composing game soundtracks for ubisoft. in this installment luke dons his slammer hat for a holiday inspired selection aimed at the dance floor. pack the picnic: box jams takes inspiration from the vast norfolk sky and coastline. slammer takes to his hardware to jam out a strain of melodic techno that bear resemblance to acts like dmx krew and larry heard.

south london analogue material is back with the long awaited release from keepsakes. whadyyatalkinbout is a ruthless opener, its aggressive, distorted techno with all the keepsakes trademarks. the remix by bas mooy is a dance floor tool and has been doing the damage over the last few months. on the flip gorbs house is rough down tempo stomper with a naughty acid section and forward strategy group finish off with the b side remix giving the ep nice balance.

uk funk connoisseur duke slammer takes the driving seat on the 303-fueled ‘bangkok skytrain’, with remixes from moscow based simple symmetry and returning artist tony g. inspired by tropical heat, bangkok skytrain utilises 303s, analogue drum machines and mixes in field recordings taken from an excursion to thailand. the result is a heady concoction of warm basslines and humid atmospheres, with a groove reminiscent of early 90’s melodic techno and a cheeky drum track that wouldn’t be out of place on a larry heard record. simple symmetry, the lipski brothers from moscow, slowly rebuild layers of the track like a locomotive building up momentum, and in typical style simple symmetry style finding the perfect vocal sample and pan pipes that help propels you into the foreign lands. before you know it the track is pumping at full chug! tony g’s take goes a bit further afield than the original. a dub rhythm sets the picture in outer-space. hihats stutters like cosmic dust rickashading off the nosecone of the space ship while longing strings take us deep into a distant nebular before the 303 bring the thousands of new galaxies into view. definitely music to listen to in the dark! look out for the secret dancefloor weapon ‘just drums’, an industrial drum machine workout for the freaks!
