mannequin records is proud to present a double lp and cd compilation of one of the most important industrial bands active during the 80s in the uk. bourbonese qualk were an experimental music group from england who where active from 1979 until 2003. throughout this period they had a number of different line-ups but this album concentrates on the period from 1983 until 1987 with the trio of simon crab, julian gilbert and steven tanza. during this time the group released five albums: laughing afternoon, hope, the spike, preparing for power and the self-titled bourbonese qualk on their own recloose organisation and new international records labels.

after releasing his sophomore long player we walked home together through fiakun, el_txef_a returns with a series of remix packs, the first bringing us to the darkest side of the album. not only is this the first remix ep part of a triptych, its also the start of a new label, forbidden colours. the forbidden colours label will provide a space for the basque producer to explore and share his musical vision. the ep starts off with eduardo de la calles take on claim of planet earth, pulling us through an impressive analogue journey. while the black madonna displays her particular vision of italo with some serious bassline action. permanent vacations lake people turn every day is blue monday into a mystical acid trip. the tel aviv based duo deepa & biri reinterpretate claim of planet earth into a deep yet gentle track. finally andres aguirre gives the love we lost brings the reworks home with a true dancefloor club mix. the vinyl release will be limited to 200 copies

jerry williams jr. alias swamp dogg ist ein echter exzentriker unter den soul-legenden. in dem wissen, dass eine außergewöhnliche biographie die halbe miete ist, verlieh er sich nivht nur seinen spitznamen, sondern behauptete zeitlebens er habe nie die schule besucht (stimmt nicht!) und sei eines morgens aufgewacht und habe gewusst, er sei ein -musikalisches genie- (kommt schon eher hin). jedenfalls arbeitete er als produzent, songwriter und studio-musiker für andere soul-musiker, bevor er sich eigenen songs widmete. und obwohl musik-kritiker vergleiche zu curtis mayfield und quincy jones bemühten, war ihm der große erfolg doch nie beschieden. dazu war er dann doch eine nummer zu abgehoben.
