06.07.07
stefan engblom and olle cornéer aka dada life have caused a massive stir in electro house land. or shall we call it la la land? anyway, after impressing releases on imprints like mylos breastfed, john dahlbäcks pickadoll, fatboy slims southern fried and rise records its now time for a kickin release on the alphabet city label platform >this machine kills breakfasts< is as crazy as the title already suggests. lunatic stabs, kickin beats and funky peaktime action, you have never heart before
huge support: joe t. vanelli, annie nightingale (bbc radio 1), uk cool cuts charts, ivan smagghe, satoshi tomie, dmc buzz charts, john acquaviva,… hell yeah is building a huge following with its straight up approach of releasing dancefloor destroyers with plenty of attitude! maskio is the alter ego for santos and it toys with all things acid. this project has already produced great tracks like >acid theory<, >analog pressure<, >detroit land< and recent crowd pleaser >human jungle<. >monday< has already seen the light of day on mantra vibes last year but got a bit lost in the world of distribution going bad. however it still reached out through the internet and now due to popular demand its getting a full release

LAST STEP (2LP)
2x12 Inch
04.07.07
canadas last step unleashes his debut album called simply last step. these tracks are all created using original analogue equipment like the roland 303, 606, 707 and jupiter etc. they do not know much about last step as he only communicates with me anonymously and via vocoder. all his royalties (if he ever makes a profit) are destined for the st. bernadettas synth hospital.
pierce & twirdy created an intense piece of deep, harmonic and hypnotizing techno. close to their detroit roots but fresh in the result, similar to recent music by artists like martin landsky they build up strong synth lines with minimal drumming and mindtripping spheric sounds. supplementing the release, robert babicz adds his very own interpretation of the original by positioning the drumming in a modern house style combined with a murder bassline that once again proves his awesome skills as a producer.
SATELLITES ARE SPINNING
12 Inch
03.07.07
big one for all the italo and cosmic disco heads!! >satellites are spinning< is an amazing disco oddysey which kicks off with a patrick cowley like electric bassline and the builds slowly. more and more synths are laid down to ensure for a mighty climax half way true when the lead melody kicks in. on the b-side we have this amazing vocal booguie tune called >u cant help but dance.< this can be compared with a moodymann meets theo parrish meets dexter wansel kinda song. whatever this may be, rest assured this nugget moves booty when dropped in the club. this awesome package ends with an electronic p-funk track called >zweap.< the mighty linndrum computer reminds of earlier prince productions and the crazy synths sound like amp fiddler playing on another dirty and energetic george clinton meets parliament gig
TRAFFIC III - PART 4 / 4 (10INCH) (HIDDEN NOISE, RANDOM AFICIONADO, BEYOND)
10 Inch
03.07.07
the long a-side is reserved for bülent gürler and his project bee-low. >the hidden noise< is a neo-detroit-screw of the plus 8-hawtin school in a very popular plank of the minimal-rave. a track like evolution. antonelli digs, as >random aficionado<, a handful of melodies deep under a rave that is hardly recognizable as such one. he removed the snare completely in favor of a more effective feeling of the song. that s the way deep-house should sound and the way you always imagined it. no frowst, no references, just clear warm water. martin hirsch, alias deer, lived in devon (uk) for a long time and was an immediate neighbor of lee norris, also known as norken or metamatics. recently, the two of them have revived the connaisseur label neo ouija and that will surely do good for the cultural environment. and they have decided to start a long-ranging cooperation in terms of producing records. an outcome is >beyond the breeze<, a piece of house music whose title couldn t be more precise... sasse, giles smith, jeff milligan, laurent garnier
SUNBURST
12 Inch
02.07.07
sunburst offers layers of eerie, whispered vocals wrapped around a dark and menacing chord pattern. as the track develops though, the chords open out to bring light to the dancefloor and dramatically change the mood into something wonderfully uplifting. marc also offers a reduced version of >sunburst< as a dub to complete the trip. the alexkid remix brings some proper old school house vibes to the mix. alex and his 909 go to work on marcs stabs to devastating effect. all hands are destined to reach for the lasers when the bass-line drops, and just in time for the summer. parisian alexkid works his magic for the remix. alexkid has in the past remixed everyone from astor piazzolla to george michael, provided serious dancefloor fuel with tracks like >dont hide it< and a number of critically acclaimed albums for the fantastic french label f communications

esperanza once again welcomes a new artist to its forever expanding team.in this release we witness some more young aand fresh talent in the form of seth troxler. already loved and supported by djs like magda and troy pierce, just to mention a few. seth effortlessly creates a sexy and irresistble ep in which he clearly shows his natural ability to create an hearthquake groove through use of skillfull arrangments.the a1 opens the ep with lee curtiss remix (dumb unit-kalimari) of the track which we will find on the a2. lee gives us his interpretation with a straight forward groove and a funkier shape. on a2 we find >crossonlikespoo< wich is characterized by a superfunky bassline and amazing percussion, its been damaging every dancefloor weve tested it on. >brabaros strides< on b side is more deep and introspective track ,perfect for the warm up, in a fresh summer style.this is a must have ep for your collection from the hottest new artist of the moment!

pikaya take to the a-side with a flourish of robes and flashing beams of light. >jedi< is not the track youre looking for… wait, no—it absolutely is the track youre looking for, all mind tricks aside. kicking off with a sparse drum pattern, it quickly shifts from a measured andante to an easy jog, as resonant synths and sweeping filters whip up desert winds and high drama. high, lonesome counterpoints and a moody chord progression carry the faintest whiff of ennio morricones outlaw music, and playful trills—you could almost swear they were birdcalls—suggest a secret oasis hidden just behind the next hill.if you find >jedi< cinematic, then >fango< will really blow your wide-screen mind. starting with a rhythmic underpinning thats everything youve come to expect from a cadenza track - tight, ultra-kinetic, just a little bit jittery - pikaya build up layer upon layer of hazy pads and cool arpeggios that shimmer like the aurora borealis. bullfrog-throated horns occasionally burst in with a fat, amicable fanfare, announcing the arrival of the peak hour. great, unison handclaps play off against heel-kicking syncopations: madness ensues. and then everything slowly, imperceptibly smears together and loses focus, and the tune fades flickeringly away. talk about a double feature! now playing on a turntable near you

jerome sydenham and rune rk first met about 5 years ago, when jerome first played club rust in copenhagen. rune was the club resident, and the two immediately connected over the decks. even though their styles were very different, there was a mutual respect and understanding for the music. in november 2006 jerome and rune decided to go to the studio and see if these magnetic poles could be joined - and from nowhere magic happened. a new mutant of sounds and arrangements emerged. not really house, not really techno, but dirty and soulful at the same time. energetic, yet calm, these tracks are something new. they dont sound like rune rk, and they dont sound like jerome sydenham. so what do they sound like? have a listen

all tracks on arti farti have been tested out the last 6 months by our local heroes, and have been proven to work in many a club:-) a: yesteryear: this one is rough. combining modern tech house with some old school >funky< rythms, and catchy keyboard riff, this one has blown up floors for me for a long time. its full of details, and has that eiry >ive heard this track before< feel to it. a massive hit in copenhagen allready, i hope itl be one for you too. full support from a bunch of big djs b: out run in: as the title suggests, this is yet another return to the olden days. i love records like computer madness, but they absolutely sound like crap next too newer releases. this is my tribute to the days where a 808 and a 101 were enough to creat magic hope you like the stuff, and remember. stay on the scene, like a fax machine!!

you might not think youre familiar with kramer, but chances are youve heard his music before. better known as larrson, the berlin-based dj/producer has released a series of acclaimed 12inchs on esteemed labels like traum schallplatten and bpitch control. he now adopts the kramer guise to deliver a 3-track ep of smart electroinfluenced and minimal house on berlins get physical. kramers first forays into music were as a singer, guitarist and songwriter, it was hearing bpitch boss ellen allien dj for the first time that inspired him to make and play electronic music. his rock/funk prehistory is subtly apparent in the eps a1, >runner<, which begins with a warm, rounded kick and busy, clicking percussion before urgent hi-hats and a hard snare sound take over and aim the tune squarely at the dancefloor. the centrepiece of the track, though, is a synth riff that summons a taste of vintage electro, while sounding purely 2007

born in australia but moving to japan in 2000, luke le mans is the main organizer of the night >quop< in osaka which focused on bringing big international djs and contribute to create a scene in the roughest japanese city. after releasing his debut ep on trapez luke is back with this 2 tracker ontrenton. much more mature, his talent as a producer are undeniable and we hope that this will be the beginning of long series of old school but yet modern minimal material for trenton. >dark helmet< has dry beats and a funky bass line with a crazy chords pattern that has some sort of a b horror movie vibe… like a minimal techno version of a dario argentos soundtrack, dark helmet will bring you out-there! the second track called >lisa< is a bit more old school but still rules and the endless loopy bass ramp that just keeps on building up will make your legs feel a bit less heavy and your mouth a bit thirstier… slg is back on trenton, but for a remix this time. after is very first ep on our label we are proud to have him back. his version of >dark helmet< is just outstanding… pure slg style, it has it all: detroit, minimal, forward, groovy… if you are still sitting in a clubs corner after hearing that on the p.a…. means that you have serious issues with being able to feel the funk!!

the irrepressible cobblestone jazz present the first single from their debut album >23 seconds<, forthcoming in september on wagon repair. cobblestone jazz produce their tracks live, with a strong emphasis on improvisation, and the trio of programmer tyger dhula, keyboardists danuel tate and mathew jonson, make full use of their formative jazz training to transform the musical outfit into a pragmatic and responsive unit, a living and breathing creation, free of formulaic sequence. >lime in da coco nut< is a potion brimming with transformation. cobblestone approach a simple key melody from every angle imaginable, with the harmonies, disharmonies, bubbling accents and rhythmic permutations exposing the otherworldly potential of the simplest of tunes. a sinister whispered vocal conducts affairs, seemingly flustered at its inability to contain the unruly elements in this wonderful experiment. on >saturday night< a deep synth line and ghostly vocoded moans progress through a jungle of percussion and falling echoed tones, steadily approaching a beat that enlivens like water on a desert journey, or rather, like vodka on a saturday night. the dizzy finale spins around your ears, a bit like the ceiling after a particularly heavy weekend adventure… be sure to be well rested before tackling this sensory safari
swedish friend per qx teamed up with non other than the british vocal diva shena, who is not only responsible for the smash hit >the weekend<, but also for current club hits like >electrosexual< and >dare me (stupidisco)<.per qx delivers the massive club and vocal dub mixes, while the stereo mutants give the anthem a soulful rub.to round this package up nik denton delivers a bigroom monster aswell. on top of that we are spoiling you with a remix from our main man from russsia, dj electric, who takes this song into warm electronic deepness
