12 Inch
01.07.08
>fables and fairytales< is a deep, dark and aggressive cut of acid house from toronto-based producer murr, featuring the voice of rosina. with a vocal chorus that begs a closer listen - to the kind of bassline you’ll be humming hours after the club, this piece of lfo tech-funk brings adonis, kate bush and pal joey into the same room and melts them into one shining pitch black gem. a perfect anthem for a jamming summer night. on the b side, adam marshall stretches the loops and dubs the jazz deep into acidic house and dark techno territory.

label boss, spiros kaloumenos does it again! analog mode 01 was charted and hammered by main techno players and more of the same is expected for this one also. two solid techno originals by spiros that prove exactly why his reputation is growing more and more over the last years. moderate and turbulence were tested continuously on spiros dj sets over the last months and proved that will rock the dancefloors big way with their massive breakdowns and rhythm!! on the flipside two remixes make this record a must have!! this time on remix duties are two names that need no introduction! paul mac from u.k, label boss of stimulus rec. and contributor to some of the biggest ever techno imprints like: primate, theory, ingoma, intec, sino, kanzleramt, delivers the goods for one more time turning original track into a pure, straight, peak time mover!
LA RAZA / DINKY REMIX
12 Inch
26.06.08
dj support from ricardo villalobos, tobi neumann (cocoon), raresh (rpr sound-system), locodice , luciano, onur ozer & rob mello, luke solomon, geddes, matt tolfrey... la raza starts with deep tribal rhythms and a discrete baseline, as the track builds, weaving in synthetic indian calls which finally breakout and turn this into a peak-time monster. on the flip, dinky takes a rare remix excursion, creating a deep psychedelic version of the original. her trademark groove wraps itself around you drawing you in further and further stripping everything away into a hedonistic peak, then finally dinky releases you from the spell & back into the rhythms…. already receiving great reaction and picked by onur ozur for his next cd compilation, this will be the start of horizontals sound summer 2008

STAY AGAIN EP
12 Inch
25.06.08
excellent & deep masterpiece!! one of the more interesting newcomers of 2007, we are delighted to welcome a new ep by october, his first for perspectiv. having turned heads with three singles on his own label caravan, octobers organic techno cuts and thuds, adding an inherent physicality to his productions. a side title track >say again< revolves around a female vocal loop, fuzzing and throbbing with pulsed melodic tone, punching live percussion and deep bass line. a highly unconventional mix, this composition ties together effortlessly, peaking with a deep and droning wave of analog synth and popped beats. b side >go outside< is an after hours treat. a darker, deeper and altogether more ethereal work, stuttering beats are glued together with a warm prodded synth melody. to close, resonant percussion and phased keys submerge the track into a claustrophobic climax.
legendz records is the normal follow up of famous legendz parties which started in belgium three years ago . for their first release, they decided to invite two belgian producers from two different musical horizons and see how it goes . kolombo is famous for his electro house style with releases on king kong, turbo, systematic, karate, his own vice versa or loulou records. sierra sam is more into the minimal world with music on trapez ltd., einmaleins, his own toys for boys and soon contexterrior the two friends decided to mix their skills on three tracks: alive is based on a fat synth line and rolling bleepy percussions, articulated around a vocal sample. extra voices takes another vocal sample , but adds it a more acid synth line and some more percussive drum soundsscreaming lord is a more aggressive track with more noises and fast percussion lines..
one sided killer application!! some tracks are so weird, that they can neither be fit into a regular release schedule, nor an appropriate b-side be found. for these black sheep we have decided to create a small niche on connaisseur supérieur. the cnss black edition will sporadically present tracks that are way out of our usual categories… with >numb<, daso finally opens his >panteras< box and again proves his ability to rock reeeally hard. the track actually consists of two seperate tracks whose combination has proven itself during several of dasos live performances. it is the transition between the two tracks that makes the crowd go mad. the clonky intro (already published on ware records as mud max - zampone (maderfotor rmx)) morphs into a giant breakdown with perhaps familiar sounding spoken words before it suddenly reincarnates as a ravey monster from hell! numb shouldnt be taken too seriously and is definitely not for all occasions, but dropped at the right moment, this atom-bomb will cause serve damage on dance- floor-gro

split ep of dark metallic hard-fun from the human shield mixing funnel. manasyt leaves his manners at home and takes the a side by force with two solid cuts of pure industrial horror: wrist sewing leaves little to the imagination whilst his bloc 08 set opener vibro speeds up the synth suspense until your loins are sore and your mind is truly spent. overworked and underpaid north wales bedroom musician cestrian (bunker/monox) softens the blow just a bit on the reverse with his hearse giving you the perfect funeral, driving off into the near distance with dead waves and metallic shards of fluctuating hiss. the stately anti funk of rizzla teeth brings us to a conclusion with gun metal grey sneers of contempt and harrowing neg vibe downer skree. suit up and dig in!

SAMPLE PLEASURES PART 3

19.06.08
hot on the heels of the bestselling second edition in the limited series, the ppf boys dropped off this outstanding third ep in the sample pleasures trilogy!!! as always, they expertly reference classic, though less well known underground gems from the last days of disco to early forays into proto house. heavily influenced by the fertile early 80s period, when european disco and boogie sounds took us in a more electronic direction, and the kind of boundary pushing, energetic, funked up soundtrack ron hardy laid down in the music box, the popular peoples front have established a formidable reputation for making stand out modern club cuts...

HOUSE NATION EP

its rare these days that a song can rock the dance floor while maintaining quality and integrity but also leave you inspired by the message in the music. house nation is a prime example of this combination. double impulse delivers a groovy chicago beat with a gritty electroish bassline filtering in and out while layered sweeping synth pads glide on top. house nation strips it down and moves into slightly more techy territory with a bouncing bassline and dubbed out cut up vocal snippets.

hairy claw kicks off 2008 with new artists, a more consistent release schedule, a new a&r (alongside label man stevie kotey) in our man dean muhsin and some serious releases. first up comes from dan drastic. dan is a german producer and dj with impeccable taste. previous output for highgrade has been superb and he has some amazing stuff due to drop on moon harbour (where he takes care of promotions in fine style) so hairy claw have handpicked him for the first release of 2008. deep, groovy and with just the right amount of drive, >xibeca< is a mordern house cut of the highest order. supernature and tsuba artists bearweasel take the techier elements of dan’s original and twist them into a flowing tech-house cut too - so there’s something for the heavier crowds too. there are big things afoot with hairy claw, we’ll keep you posted
jesse siminski is one of those musicians its impossible to ignore. whether producing as heartthrob or alter-alter ego vivianne projects his work is instinctive, insightful and driven by an irresistible force that instantly rubs off on the audience. its no surprise then that the first single to be lifted from heartthrobs eagerly awaited debut album >dear painter, paint me< is >signs<, a track that fully demonstrates the extent of his repertoire. one of the highlights of his not-to-miss live set, its also become a corner stone of richie hawtins dj sets over the last few months due to the massive crowd response it generates whenever it drops. billed as homage to classic detroit techno, theres a real air of expectancy about the mix friendly introduction. the powerful kick pattern, swirling sci-fi vocal efx and loose hi hat groove soon make way for the urgent, cavorting main melody that spins off into another dimension before a massive, resonating synthetic bass wipes out everything in its path. one of the main ideas running through the album is the juxtaposition and layering of different rhythms and time signatures and this really comes across on signs, with disco and caribbean inflections adding a cut and thrust to the chugging groove, creating the perfect foil to the sonic mayhem overhead. the b-side features apprentice – a tag heartthrob can safely leave behind with the release of >dear painter, paint me<. of course its another guaranteed floor filler with a finely honed acidic riff that immediately taps into the subconscious...

RUBBER DOLL EP (XPANSUL REMIX)
12 Inch
06.06.08
dj-support by adam beyer, alexi delano, paco osuna!! on his 2nd ep on aesthetik brian james shows his true colours. dark, deep and stripped down techno with a solid old school, almost chicago-esque feel to it. rubber doll instantly grabs you through its simplicity and efficiency. pulsating beats, a mental bassline with a slight bleepy feel to it. a true techno dj s delight. madrid s techno maestro xpansul turns rubber doll into a harder edged techno stomper. edgy technoid sounds and xpansul s trademark dark rhythmic craziness makes this track essential to any self-respecting techno jock! panic in detroit is again a typical brian james throbbing techno piece for when dancefloors go into >mental mode<. bubbling custard takes a more experimental direction, reminiscent of early dark model 500 tracks, but jacked up in brian s very own wickedness.
