canadian label hotbox digital brings us adam k and addys superb >sub-cultured<. this collaboration is one not to be missed, adam ks signature subby bass lines and minimal groove, cross addys exceptional technique and >sit-up and listen< attitude. this is certainly a tune to keep dancefloors heaving and bouncing throughout the night. on the flip, we have >whatever<, a solo effort from adam, a more twisted and less minimal record, making the perfect compliment to sub-cultured.

french maestro dj gregory, the man who brought us seminal track such as elle, attend and dont know malendro is back again with another bullet on defected. breeze, taken from his recent album defected presents faya combo session, is a late night tale with gregorys trademark sound. the package also includes a remixes from new york bad boy marlon d (who had the killer underground collective ep on strictly rhythm), george mena & gregor salto. another defected cut not to be missed.

this soulful banger was originally signed to dj spens code red imprint, but before even seeing the light of day it was snapped up by the original us house label – strictly rhythm. wondrous showcases the killer vocals of the original underground diva susu bobien. the package delivers mixes from atfc & spen under his muthafunkaz guise as well as his original. this is a slice of the most upfront soulful house that any dj who likes his soulful house should not miss out on. smashed all over by heavyweights such as kenny dope, louie vega and todd terry.

the 3rd release by scott grooves on his natural midi label, this is scotts first ever ep and color vinyl release. all 4 tracks possess a different mood and distinct raw edge, which plays well on this well balanced ep.track 1 dark blu speaks for itself, simply stated and deeply enriched. the relentless melody never lets go of the groove and the groove never lets go the melody. everything in this track harmonizes together perfectly.track 2 dna definitely disturbs the peace with vintage analog synth sounds. the old school sounding vocal sample echoes thruout the track that >detroit needs analog records< take a listen and decide if that echoes true!track 3 >it doesnt all have to be techy< as the title suggest there is know >techyness< here, its all about a deeply stormin groove that is enriched with warm melodic keys and a lovely guitar, yes i said guitar that altogether creates a feelin thats organic but not boring. track 4 decimalquivers in and out with a fm gritty synth stab, complete with minimal drums or as scott calls them >drims< which is the term scott uses for minimal drums. also present is a deep pad sound that brews slowly like an eruption. co-produced by panther, a name you will hear more about in the future

12th planet aka infiltratas first release on argon is not to be missed! element 16 (sulfur) is a dancefloor smasher that will set off any night, while just cool featuring lobsta, simpkin & inity is a vocal roller that will have you singing along.

supported by alex attias (planet e), italoboyz, karotte, sebo k, raresh, d julz, funk d void. michael melchner is barely at the beginning of his twenties. at the moment deep house of the late nineties has to take a shine to him. in the detail it gets clear, that this is not only a copy of an epoch, but a certain vibe, which is going to be transferred into the present. this vibe with his warm sound, the well dosed house beats and a strong musical sense is hearable, but this sounds by no means antiquated. on a-side several instruments like percussions, xylophone and samples of an mexican trumpet make sure that there isn’t only an exiting variety shortly before or after the primetime, but also a proper portion of itchy feet. with the both tracks on the flip-side the whole spectrum of michael melchner becomes clear, at the one hand a clear view on the dance floor with classical house beats and on the other hand a musical character, which one misses in many current productions. >chen chen< is slightly more co plicated and more rhythmic whilst >nothing happened< is a pleasing leaned back dramaturgical subtle house piece with a distinctive bass line and interspersed voice samples.

third album young desire, again captures the fervour witnessed on lapkos live shows. taking in themes of vulnerability and anxiety beneath hardened exteriors, aching feelings, pressure and confusion, the album is a mental trip back to the schoolyard, where tough guy antics and leather armor cant hide the convulsions underneath. theres new depth and dynamic in the bands expression, fitting for a gang of seasoned rock musicians. these two art school dropouts and metal worker have come a long way from harjavalta (though they still gather there to rehearse and play) and have evolved as a band and as friends.

electric minds present gatto fritto for their 3rd release. a talented musician and producer from north london, he has been steadily building a reputation through his releases on london based dissident. extending his repertoire further he brings another quality production to electric minds. the a side bursting the bubble is a nine minute jam with quirky sync samples, heavy bass and a change in direction half way through the track which is becoming a trade mark of gatto frittos productions. the b side radio b-92 did not make its place on the first electric minds release as planned, so they were delighted to have been able to include it here. it is a sync rich track taking inspiration from new yorks 80s electro scene, a perfect compliment to what is already a very strong 12inch release. house heads as well as the cosmic fans will appreciate both productions

incl great remixes by sascha funke and dj koze !! danse avec moi is the first single to be taken from noze s new album, songs on the rocks, the french duo s most surreal and scintillating vision of dance music yet, to be released on get physical music on april 25th. the 12 is equipped with remixes from sascha funke and the inimitable dj koze.>danse avec moi< is a proper love song. it is also noze s first ever song in french, and so with typical perversity, they thought it might be amusing to call upon an american to do the singing - the wonderful dani siciliano, best known for her albums for! k7 and litany of collaborations with matthew herbert. dani duets elegantly with david lafore (who also penned the song s lyrics) over a propulsive, swinging 4x4 drum tattoo, bouncy bassline, rippling harp and lavish string arrangements. as is so often the case with noze, the piano is at the forefront of the arrangement, providing not just straightforward melody and harmony but eminently danceable rhythm. it is an anthem in the making. you should know better than to expect a straightforward remix from kompakt s resident mad scientist, dj koze.

mark e now returns to running back for another ep of original productions. and what a return it is! staying in his lovely kind of irresistible grooves between low slung bass and rattling snares, mark delivers three tracks of pure dance floor bliss. first off, we have slave 1 with its burning slow motion build up and a hookline that will not leave your head for at least a week. the flip of the medal, sees pulse friction giving off a warm synthesizer shower for what seems like an hour. finally, the incredibly bouncy human tightens the thumbscrew and should even make the ruffy and tuffy minded happy. our dear friends dixon from shocking innervisions and gilb r from rocking versatile are already in love with it, so please do not even try to resist. e is for ecstasy!

phonogenics >postcard< is slow burner, building and rising to a eventual climax of melancholic underwater deepness. this song will no doubt be played by those in the later time slots and anyone who wants to add a little journey to their mixes. our main man dex aka dave barker is back with another slice of some quality melodic quirky goodness. >yikes!< has a very chopped up funk/soul feel mixed with solid house beats. studio trickery and a hidden japanese opera helps the track evolve from its soulful beginning to another world entirely. finally, we are very pleased to bring you the first of many musical efforts from amantu wilde. not much is known about amantu as he is a bit of a recluse and does not offer up much information about himself. >g-g-got my eyes on you< is a very retro sounding track reminiscent of some classic new wave jams. pseudo industrial percussion and excellent filter work make this track something to remember. something strange for sure but we think people will like the break from the mod rn sounds

not only is franklin sharing his flat with yapacc these days, hes also remixing the likes of peter grummich, colorswitch, ricardo villalobos or pheek, the berlin resident is also releasing constantly persuasively arranged and produced music on crack & speed, sender, trapez, immigrant and on his own imprint the green empire (which is he co-running also with his long-time friend yapacc). >this is probably the best cadenza release which hasnt been released on cadenza<, said a journalist a week ago - and who are we to deny this? these two tracks are beautifully towering tripped-out, post-minimal techno pieces which are not only suitable for late night moments.

komplex audio kicks out a floor burner that is allready heating up the clubs all around. timemachine turned out to be a real dancefloor bomb. watch out for the mindblowing breaks that turn people crazy! on the flip hamburgs top act nudisco presents some remix work on timemachine. their tekk attack remix concentrates on a straight and also highly effective setup giving a powerful nudisco-touch to the original. last but not least there is a big surprise on b2: herz, a 102nd century remix of the brillant mandis & durden track
