who are these guys behind the pseudonyms? good guy mikesh and filburt are two music lovers… full stop! two independent acts that met in leipzig and began to merge their musical creative capacities two years ago. a convolution of disco, pop and house, propagating one of leipzigs most promising collaborative developments. good guy mikesh has haunted leipzigs contemporary underground for a long time. from the beginning of his musical career, his singles have signified an eclectic mix of pop, soul and disco. filburt - dj, record store owner and leipzig club scene veteran, was consequently good guy mikeshs best possible accomplice in the mission to break fresh ground. this mixture of soul, disco and house-pop is it, charged by the duos certain something - an energy sought for not only in this town, but throughout the whole scene. someone told me, their latest single, has been causing an outbreak of contagious enthusiasm in the scene since its release on permanent vacation this summer. we are proud to release this fine ep, which comes with a remix by one of our uk favorites: mark e !

so the story goes: a few years ago i played a cool underground party in stockholm with my good friend and crazy record collector mark seven. early on that night mark played me this beautiful and melancholic piece of music. mark happily handed me his spare copy and my record collection for a second felt a little more complete… originally released as a b side track to als slipshod ep on out of the loop the track continued to mesmerize whenever i played it and the fact that so many people loved it and equally as many didnt know the record i though a re release could be a great idea. its inclusion on gerd jansons recent sonar kollektiv compilation and the fact that its been played by legendary dj harvey ( o bearded one as hes known to by the initiated) has obviously helped to spread its fame to. the previously issued part 1 with the original and bogdan irkük remixes has gone down a storm with all the cool movers and shakers... oh yeah baby. now its time for the last chapter with equally mindboggling gatto fritto remix, mark sevens version and my own just plain silly rework. toodle oooo, thomas(oslo, 7th of august 2009)

a temporary sabbatical from gigs was taken and the band wrote material for where were you when it happened in new orleans midtown district, where their rawboned compositions resembled the katrina-pummeled surroundings. with their girlfriends with them in as close to a stableenvironment as they d been in months, they were able to tap a darker, more personal side in songs like as noise, and hunt you down, with its mournful, organ drenched air belying monotonixs typical good time charlie posturing, while fulfilling the albums need for a climactic, balladic moment. where were you when it happened? finds monotonix visiting a greater diversity of places within their sound while still retaining their minimal appeal. mostly though, where were you when it happened works up a sweat with raw rock and roll, acid guitar licks and riffs, screaming choruses and, in general, the wildness of monotonix in a way that makes for repeated album listening (and pummelling). where most bands refine their production sound as they go forward, monotonix have reverse refined themselves, playing dirtier and more energetic to capture the lightning they are known for.

our man from italy hits base again! he was the first house-agent that weÆve send out on a pure digital upon you mission. he mastered it with such bravory that our headquater see it worthwhile to hit session two on vinyl. in phase a1 he successfully recovered a hole row of bad house replicates under the code name ôshadittzö to bring back the good taste. ôback from the middleö is the motto in phase a2, essentially contributing the bust of a few lousy tech-house bosses that where about to sell scuzzy loops to minors. his work was very useful for us and an easy seizing for mr. superbrain tolga fidan who could complete the mission as our remix profiler.

after the success of their collaboration with paul thomas on last years festival anthem >arena<, mark knight and funkagenda join forces once again on one of the most eagerly anticipated tracks showcased at this years miami wmc.
>good times< is the feel good anthem of the summer comprising of a modest intro with a warbling bass line driving slowly through collecting sounds, before opening up into an edgy synth stab and finally the insanely catchy vocal hook >these are the good times<! the track drops back in like a speeding locomotive train going full steam ahead, with cleverly placed percussion, fx and siren sounds soaring to create an intense rhythm.
on the flip, >flauta magica< shows the diversity of these two acclaimed producers when they get in the studio together. taking a different route from the lead track and concentrating more on the groove, >flauta magica< chugs along nicely with an almost tribal percussive feel to it. the excellent chanting vox sample, reminiscent of the early house sound, keeps the groove rolling along into the drop. taking the lead from the tracks name, a whistling flute riff drops elevating the musical vibe to a new balearic level.

after a run of collectible releases on their own and one 12inch for esteemed deep explorer label the guys from valencias cornuta imprint return with another strong double header of summery deephouse that easily gets ahead of the flood of moody, two chord releases of minimalists turned to house yet never gets noodly or looses the floor outta sight. . >good try dub< sports a nice jacking beat, superb warm rhodes and string chords. the beat on the flip pounds a bit harder yet keeps the classic soulful vibe

that cheeky chap diamond geezer is back with another banging jungle single on his very own self titled label. featuring the vocals of dancehall veteran spragga ben, sound good is a frantic amen led jungle roller that incorperates old skool edits and some classic soundclash effects and bleeps for good measure making this a dirty little dancefloor number indeed!

since 1996 when he started working for >dms< distribution and at the >imports recordstore< in darmstadt greg parker is a part of the elctronic music scene. at the end of the 90ies he became member of the house scene in the area around darmstadt through djing. in 2002 he took over the recordstore, renamed it to >smoove records< and became resident dj at the house club >room 106< where he met terry lee brown junior. afterwards a close friendship developed that inspired parker since 2006 releasing records. support by terry lee brown junior, the timewriter, alex flatner, nacho marco, stryke
