raoul records is very happy to welcome liviu groza for the fourth release of the label. after his china charm ep on cityfox just before this summer, he is back with 3 tracks that fit perfectly with the sound of the label. it certainly has something to do with house and techno, but livius personal touch is quickly modifying our expectations, for the pleasure of our ears. there is an authentic energy in livius work and the a-side track >no love< is a perfect example of that. what starts with a typical filtered techno loop is suddenly brought to another level with a huge melodic bass line and then with two chords that enlight the track with a certain melancholy. the b-side starts with another killer bass line. >the manimals< bass line is a snake that enrolls its body around every other element: a great house groove and an hypnotic piano. liviu is a snake charmer! the 3rd track >mean fine< seems to be the perfect b2 track. what sounds rather quiet and reduced when you first listen to it, turns itself into an efficient old school dj tool with such groovy hats and hypontic vocals once played on a proper sound system!

just how much mileage can you get out a single loop? both pablo cahn and cesar merveille seem to know the answer. if only these guys had turned their talents towards automotive engineering, we might have vastly more fuel-efficient cars by now, and an end to global warming. but we can take consolation, at least, in the heat they bring to the dancefloor. cahn and merveille worked together on cadenza 39, here they each take a side in a friendly contest to see who can go deeper.

in the world of factory presets, default settings and copy-paste ethics, there are few artists that actually care to make a difference. and -who told you that?-, 29th release on warsaw recognition label, is certainly a voice to be heard. the title track is another subtle narrative from label boss jacek sienkiewicz. eerie chord and a solid, damp beat from the start are underpinned by sherds of dialogue - snippets of words and laughter keep coming back in the mix, providing some sort of uneasy commentary towards todays minimal house formula. but at some point the voices disappear - and then the tracks gently goes somewhere outside the boundaries of todays club music, somewhere otherworldly. this shift, albeit amazingly subtle, is a leap towards music free of any defined context, far beyond dancefloor and definitely original. if this sneak peak into the possible futures of manmachine induced visions is too much to handle, there is still the b-side of this release. two tracks here - both clocking around mere 5 minutes - are prime exercises in compact, clever, tight and efficient club tools. uplifting -cobalt drive- is bound to to be quoted and reworked into many forms of a late-night burner. patefon, on the other hand, is a peak-time stormer with its stuttering chords and moody samples, supposedly picked from some vintage shellac discs

this time, doctor pepp and doctor hugg investigates the secrets behind the pappas mechanism that is the source of the love explosion. in the 2007 report >pappa love mechanism and it social economic studies< we have tried to cover the whole process from the first eye contact on the dancefloor to the sucessful stimuli of ollon and completion of the explosion. it is reported that at least 52 sucessful explosions inside the mamma during 2007 (percentage of error 3.45%) where produced under assistance of the special hugg & pepp frequency spectrum in our test envrioments. we are very proud to present this spectrum in two separate files, the pung spectrum and the ollon spectrum, each one being specially designed to meet the high level criterias of today. the pung spectrum has a base frequency of about 75.5 hz for wich most pungs will be mostly efficient. how ever, this special spectrum has such a rich and joyful tonal range making contact on the dancefloor under influence of alcohol is no longer necessary
