vrajitoroo. now the frightening thing about our boy razvan aka. vrajitoroo, is that his is only 17 years of age. born and raised in romania, his passion for electronic music first came to light at the age of 11. since then he has followed closely the careers of not only fellow romanians rhadoo and raresh, but a host of other stars of the techno circuit, including the heavy-weights, hawtin, vath, loco dice, carola, luciano and villalobos. the more he listened the more his passion grew, and soon his urge the make music could no longer be ignored, he set on his production journey. the first fruits of his labour are now here for you to check out. sent to lawler, it took him a very short time to decide that he wanted the tracks for viva music, and so, vrajitoroo becomes the latest new artist to join the label.... the three tracks din nou iar, tzushca and mai hai!, represent a new modern take on a classic tribal sound.

der thal is been playing all over germany and hes been trying to build up his own sound and skills. after making a great remix of reynolds track >craft< on trenton 027 he is now giving us 3 great tracks for a full maxi. mentona ep is a bit of a journey into what trenton use to be about at the very beginning with a techno that is very close to the old school detroit vibe… in der thals music there are a lot of melodic sounds and tough tight beats to keep us on the ground. >mentona< and >maszo< are floating on air with strings and synth lines when >puston< reminds us more of some >tejada< grooves! a great ep anyway from der thal who is definitely on the way to become one of these great young gifted producers that care about music mainly.

ruede hagelsteins the modest theme has proven to be one of souvenirs most provocative releases so far. released in the summer, the tracks dramatic horn hook is so epic it belongs in a science fiction film and as a piece of forward thinking techno, it ranks among one of souvenirs best. now the track is back with a remix from souvenir spearheads tiefschwarz alongside a new track from berlin based ruede. semikolon is another dark and dubby deep tech-housy outing for ruede that begins with a dramatic spoken word by naneci and ominous organ stabs. as the track progresses it takes on a chicago house vibe re-imagined at 10am in the panorama bar. an urgent bell begins to ring through the track raising the tension as the vocal intones a surreal chant before giving way to huge synth stabs that lead the track into a slow motion emotional explosion. just when things can get any more hectic the crescendo sinks to silence compressing the energy before the beats emerge back in their earlier deep house guise. ali and bast schwarz take their turn at remixing the modest theme fresh from their incendiary remix of emad kamandians kamanche for souvenir 012. the signature dramatic horn riff remains albeit injected with new percussion lending the track a tough tech house appeal that places it within the context of 2008s underground house sound. both tracks are another addition to souvenirs impressive collection of music aimed at the head just as much as they are at the heart and feet.

the berlin based dj and highgrade-artist jens bond presents with his new ep >hypochonder< his latest work. bond is allready known for his percussive tracks beside that the resident dj of berlins watergate club is well established thanks to his collaborations with benno blome (sender records) and guido schneider (pokerflat). in the namegiving titeltrack for this new ep for highgrade jens bond gives it all: stakkatos of rolling percussions meet pearling synth-lines, creating a jacking, neverending groove. >got some…< develops this recipe for success more into a slightly darker direction, while keeping up beeing changefull with the same >hands-up<-factor. instead of a break mr. bond serves us with >paulista grill< the next highlight of this ep. massive, with a touch of darkness, build on a strong fundament of a funky, dry-asa-bone groove. three tracks, simultaneously eventfull and homogeneous, carrying clearly jens bonds signature.

groovebox ep is filled with some class a material for the raunchy dancefloor. first up there is into the club. this track is typical for channel x: it will blow off the roof in the club! as the title of the track already suggests, this is another one of channel xs lengthy journeys into nightlife extravaganzas. a wonderful fidgety bassline and a loop filled with loads of soulful vocal samples from strong male leads to sensitive female souls, this tune is both deep, touchful and destroying. the chainsaw effect session in the middle paves the way for more stomping tech-house business. no time to recover from this, because on the flip its straight onto the floor with wake up: a loop thats made of trillions of little cut-up effects, vocal bits and some straight four to the floor business. after a playful beginning the tune moves into an hypnotic piece of trippy techno only to be converted into a restless party anthem for the Überpeak-time. sick! perhaps there is some time to chill with the last of the three tracks that is against the wall. here it becomes clear what channel x are best at: to create dark, hard and moving electronic music with that special ingredient that is soul. this track is a perfect example: some frightening effects, lots of reverb on the creepy samples, but such a wonderfully harmonic sample that seems to shed light at the end of the never-ending afterhour. if there is a message to this music, it would be: you need to look hard, but there is always love. once again label boss oliver koletzki has picked up these two very talented producers very early upon their career and it has paid off: in one release being better than the one before

jaxson techno urgestein und tausendsassa, mit eigenem label, plattenladen, partyreihe und mit veröffentlichungen auf cadeaux, get physical und confused macht jetzt seine ersten platte zusammen mit sven brede auf mbf. jaxson der hier mit highgrade künstler sven brede die platte aufgenommen hat, beweist ein ums andere mal viel instinkt und herz für das was in clubs fehlt... musik mit großen emotionen! tanzwütige werden bei >honeymooner< voll auf ihre kosten kommen. das traurigste streicherstück der welt ist hier toll in szene gesetzt und der spagat zwischen techno und minimal geht voll auf, wenn man ein ums andere mal in die melodie hineingezogen wird! auf der rückseite ist mit >dolly scroll< ein track der weniger zuckersüß dafür aber stark rhythmisch zur sache geht.

eigenlob stinkt, also schnell die wäscheklammer auf die nase. wir haben immer schon gewusst, dass matias aguayo ein jahrhunderttalent ist. seit seinen ersten gehversuchen mit michael mayer als zimt oder später mit dirk leyers als closer musik und mit marcus rossknecht als broke und vor allem auch solo weiss matias immer wieder zu Überraschen. seine dj-/live-sets gelten von buenos aires Über paris bis köln als legendär und: visionär! nach seinem tongue-in-cheek sommerhit minimal lag matias jedoch nicht auf der faulen haut, sondern hat mal eben en passant eine der inspiriertesten techno eps der jüngeren geschichte aus dem hut gezaubert. der titeltrack walter neff ist ein gnadenloser poptechno-ohrwurm und dancefloor-destroyer zugleich. der teufel muss ihm diese bassline verraten haben! one for the ladies... bei rebolledo style schraubt matias das drecklevel kräftig hoch und serviert einen hochenergetischen chicago-meets-baile-funk-meets-pianohouse-slammer. dann rundet matias die platte mit einem weiteren ausnahmetrack ab, carter msp. die bassline ist schlichtweg krank, dabei aber unglaublich sexy und uplifting. ernsthaft, alle drei tracks sind derart brilliant, dass man sich fragt, warum fast alle anderen platten im vergleich mit der walter neff ep so Öde sind? so, jetzt könnt ihr die wäscheklammer wieder abnehmen.

a1: >ondu< stellte auf dem >sool< album bereits einen meilenstein dar, wodurch er seine relevanz für eine extra singelauskopplung mehr als unterstrichen hat. dieser track hat im original zwei gesichter: harmonisch und verbindend auf der einen, und schroff und düster auf der anderen seite. a2 ondu (paul ritch remix) paul ritch zerlegt >ondu< in seine einzelnen bestandteile. er isoliert jeden effekt und gibt ihm eine neue bestimmung ohne jedoch den gesamtcharakter des tracks zu verändern. >ondu< behält im paul ritch remix seine spleenige und schizophrene attitüde aus dem original bei, gewinnt jedoch ungemein an leichtigkeit. b1: caress (chaim remix) chaim fängt bei seinem >carees< remix an den track von hinten aufzurollen. es hat scheinbar den eindruck als würde er dem soundteppich des originals mit einem großen teppichklopfer ordentlich zusetzen. heraus kommt ein track der ganz klar an das original erinnert, allerdings wird die hypnotische ruhe von einer quirligen unruhe überrannt. b2: caress >caress< im original kommt auf einen weiten klangteppich daher, welcher dem hörer vermittelt es sich bequem zu machen und der dinge zu harren die da kommen. und wie diese kommen. mit einer hypnotisch, hauchenden stimme zieht der track den hörer in seinen bann und eröffnet bereitwillig die tiefe des raumes
