so what is after the void ... we bang the bomb of course with a lady in a thong surrounded by snakes and hand grenades, obvious really! having been away for some time it appears that a light sounds dark spring is in the air. en route to their next destination (rumoured to be a dark subterranean world full of nasty mutants danger electrified tracks out this summer) with arms out the window and the mothership roof down, its full steam ahead and proper european dance music time. not really train spotting as before although a couple are a bit off piste like maltas very own ian dury by the name of iain richardson rapping about sitting on a green bus! much more like it however are classic italo covers of big in japan, gloria, a wonderful new wave version of falcos euro smash der kommissar and the thoughts massive german hit wait a long time sounding like some long lost talk talk record. light sounds dark do some minor tweaking (going for that natural look) to big beast anthems axodrys you and colme 111s you take me high (early euro take on chicago) and for lovers of something a bit more funky theres some groovy goings on from kraut funksters epsilon urging people to leave the city which might not be a bad idea if the water runs out.

clone classic cuts continues their re-issues series for one of the most influential techno acts ever: drexciya. the second selection of tracks includes favorites such as bang-bang,positron island,anti vapour waves and journey home complimented with some lesser or unknown tracks. raw, uncompromising music made with soul and creativity have always has been the trademark of drexciya (and also from their original label underground resistance) and this album is another showcase of their talents. btw there is not much further background info we can give. all that can be revealed is already out there.

bestworks records proudly presents the debut of two young aspiring producers from berlin: felix fisher and fabian dikof. several years ago both of them learned their first skills in a youth project which was developed and run by non other than label owner and producer andre lodemann in a small town erkner on the outskirts of berlin, germany. this release is a beautiful connection between andre lodemanns former job as a street/social-worker and his work today as a producer and dj on the international circuit. the track by felix fisher is a more detroit orientated tech-house track with a darker approach and fabian dikofs is more dubby-house influenced. christian prommer and phoniques remixes give the release a great twist in other musical directions.

the tracks blend the best of booth producers, rachmads detroit influence shaped with lauxs dynamic style. the title track viking, is led by a synth that sweeps in an almost hyperventilating rhythm that raising the track with a series of industrial ticks and clicks that flavour the german, dutch and detroit mix. a dark bassline leads the track into its climax where glitchy synths squeak and stretch before the track drops. carlos is a track that bounces with groove. morse-like rhythmic bleeps carry the track cementing the individuality that is created in the ep. awash with sweeping sounds, the track gains a smoother feeling of deep techno demostrating their delicacy. 7tine is a juggernaut with a dark, heavy rhythm, showing the industrial power of the pairs production. flanged distortion scratching like fingernails give the track a tense edge, while simple yet powerful synths steer the ep into an eerie conclusion.
