wave turned out to be the last album the patti smith group would record, as it was also last album smith would record before a nine year hiatus. the godmother of punk decided to focus on her family life and moved to michigan, but not before leaving us with gems like the sexually mysterious >dancing barefoot< (dedicated to her husband to be fred sonic smith) and her amazing, biting version of >so you want to be (a rock n roll star)<. produced by todd rundgren, this is her most pop-oriented album, and many at the time could not appreciate her more accessible sound. nevertheless, wave, her spoken word tribute to pope john paul i (who reigned for only 33 days) is as touching and harrowing now as when it came out in 1979. available on vinyl for the first time since its original release!

ramona is pretty nervous to welcome a new name to her ever-growing happy family. in fact, its actually an old band member. christian beisswenger alias cb funk alias one half of arto mwambe is not exactly one you would call a stranger. for >77 reasons< he debuts as the citizens band with some novel sounds on risky grounds. in love with details, fragile sounds, little tricks and with a fine ear for the action, the band leader tiptoes into deep bleepy house just enough to call >west 42nd< exactly that. >77 reasons< however plays around with a memorable little melody, a skanking lead and some boom sonics. whatever you want to call it, ramona is fine with it. orson and kane would be proud.

after his succes on mps005, argentinean producer tacito is back for some action on micropunto.another 12inch full of dubby flavours typical of tacitos production, plus an exclusive remix by giorgio gigli (zooloft, prologue) which rounds this release perfectly.this record starts with lession, a dub techno mover that opens nicely this ep with reverberating stabs and percussive loops throughout.leaks brings us to a more mellow and melancolic mood with a break in the middle with nice freezing stabs and mellifluous pads that hypnotize us throughout the track.giorgio giglis remix dont fail to surprise us. with his refined productions he takes the main track and does a stripped down, dubbier version with melodic pads, that gives this track, giorgios special moody imprint.the third track, las flores de fidel, is on a more funky tip with nice percussive sounds while the digital exlusive track hard to sleep, closes this ep elegantly with a mesmerizing composition full of narcotic sounds.

somewhere over western europe, an un-identified falling object crashed landed causing a massive bang, and a ginormous banana shaped smoke cloud. frederic, a local artistic young chap was so inspired by this hilariously funny giant cloud that covered the whole sky as far as he could see, he ran indoors to take cover, and wrote a little summer step d&b beat, called >laughing at clouds< – which seemed to draw a lot of attention. out of the studio window, frederic could see what seemed to be a pink giraffe giving it some serious head-nodding action. by the second drop leonard (the pink giraffe) was dancing so heavily that he caused a small tremor somewhere over in the states, where young up & coming producer melo seemed to pick up the transmission. while in his sonic laboratory he managed to transfer his latest project (affirmation) through the current, where frederic decided to make his first remix project, which pretty much made leonard pass out after all the summer stepping….
