quartz music return with yet another roaring ep. this time from belgiums hermanez.
opening track hocus focus is a full spectrum. opening with its tribal drums, the addition of cascading techy sounds and then its techno stomp. the brutalness is appeased by the wonderful deep synths that fuse everything together.
next up is the more stripped, minimal sounds of served . a colder, more moody electronic feel to this one, it pops along, locked into a vicious groove. white noise builds create the drama throughout.
finally don t try this at home continues with the heavy tribal tide. rolling drums, a plethora of toms, and a bag full of spooky sounds and efx, make a strong set building track.

miconn records have set themselves extremely high standards with their first two releases gold coast and aella ep gaining impressive support from dubfire, christian smith and carl cox. release three has hermanez back flying solo with a stunning mix from martinez to complete another impressive looking package. marrakech is a slamming tribal-tech track that draws the inspiration for its title from the ethnic percussion and chants

in contrast to a recurring theme of uninviting releases by labels that seem to offer tracks- so easy to digest they get lost with an un-inspiring and flat feel, the collaboration of hermanez and ramom tapia is a coupling of dark moods and techy deepness, listen even deeper and you?l find a wealth of detail stuffed full of mythical rides push an organ into a dark corner and have it brutally assaulted by a groove-hungry gang of latin approved drums and the outcome is pretty much that of miconns second release. syncopated sturdy percussion and hi hats sit amongst a spring-loaded beat whilst lazy organ keys relax the pace
