12" Vinyl UK24.05.19
m.i.g. arrives just in time for your summer. ibiza terrace vibes come in the form of a remix from lee burridge and lost desert which recently lead to an avalanche of emails and texts to us begging for a copy after its inclusion on lees radio 1 essential mix. well, here it is for you lucky chosen few. the full package also includes the original from m.i.g. which has a more gentle vibe to it and a remix from funk d void.
lee burridge, lost desert and junior akwety return with summer vibes all the way. following last year s subtle monster lingala, they bring the sunshine once again with three tracks. elongis vocal floats above its foundation of warm sub bass and groovy beats and always seems to induce at least one person in the crowd to sing along. even though we know they don t speak lingala (a language from congo). mona yo is a little groovier. floaty house music for outdoors. talking of floaty, the ep is wrapped up by float on. its pretty for sure but has a certain drive thats been rocking the all day i dream dance floor all year. close your eyes and daydream.
the days are longer and lighter already and that can only mean one thing. summer is on its way… lee burridge and lost desert return with sunshine days in mind on their ‘loopyness’ ep. an apt description indeed for the title track. its infectious groove rolls forward, making you want to get up and wiggle your hips, this track has funk. a live guitar lifts the track halfway through, as stuttered vocals and string-like synth lines take you away to other worlds. over on the other side of the vinyl (or track two for digital fans) is ‘botanic’. another summer daze, groovy, light and airy with a slinky fat bassline and a warm breakdown. music to close your eyes and drift away to, this track has been a firm favourite on all day i dream dance floors since last summer. the ep comes to a close with ‘12cc’ featuring junior. a dubbier groove underpins the whole affair while glass-like melodies and laid back synths sway back and forth. it’s a patient groover that rewards those who take the ride.
for over five years, all day i dream has been where deep and emotive meet house music. propelled by a community of forward thinking artists drawn around the scion of master curator and sunset/sunrise set specialist, lee burridge. all day i dream formally welcomes lost desert to the label with the release of lingala, a two-track collaborative effort with burridge himself, that also features junior on vocals. lost desert was picked out of obscurity after burridge discovered his music while trekking in a remote area of a long lost land. a fast forged friendship inevitably lead to the studio, and lingala’s the enrapturing sophomore result. the duo’s first project together debuted on lee’s night time imprint, get weird, earlier this year to widespread support. lingala, is a beautifully composed ten-minute sonic journey. built around a mystical lead vocal sung by newcomer junior in his native linagles the raw emotion slowly builds in intensity over propulsive basslines and deep melodic grooves . gorje hewek & izhevski’s interpretation of lingala is a markedly different affair. focussing on musical layers rather than the vocal the duo’s signature spacey atmospheres and minimal rhythmic percussion add extra strings creating uplifting moments that contrast the original’s mood.
lee is a fan of deserts. (no, not desserts… deserts) and with lost desert creates two atmospheric musical visions for the dance floor. out there under a mystical night sky * stand up right* is the soundtrack. recently featured on lee radio one essential mix and this years robot heart set from burning mans saturday morning sunrise both two tracks take you right back there.
this super limited edition 400 press is mastered by renown mastering veteran beau and housed in the reverse-board trigram house bag. the trigram series marks its halfway point with the debut release of bosnia & herzegovinas zentash gigawatt. raw, unadulterated tribal bass music with a deep roots foundation. zentash gigawatt deliver two earth rocker tracks with unparalleled primeval intensity. this is the sound of trigram.
as snapshots catalogue grows, so too does the quality. the modest label hits us with five new tracks by johannes volk with a heavy detroit minimal feel, instantly reminding us of vintage robert hood productions built of only the bare essential elements required to move ones body. johannes is currently pounding the floors across europe with his live sets and has released on labels such as jeff mills 6277 imprint (an axis sub label) & gerds life world records.
tale & tone channels lee and hoj’s experiences exploring the world’s most sought after party destinations from the magic of hazy sunrises to the dim warehouses of underground’s past. the label acts as a bridge between the diverse environments in which dance music thrives and a showcase of the unique stories told by its sounds and devotées. the storybook ep will chart the tale & tone journey starting with a full vinyl release on july 21 and digital singles to follow. the ep begins with the mystic groove of daso and lutz’s better followed by the caribbean inspired ethereal soundscapes of cornucopia’s letter for poly. all day i dream mainstay lost desert has aligned with amari for the intricately layered, vocal driver hunter, while the revelatory soul of dance spirits wash me clean calls out to the calmer side of the electronic spectrum. the release is capped off with the late night affair of newman’s the sky and earth and in hoj’s own words on tale & tone, -lee and i are great friends and have been talking about starting a new project together for a long time
all day i dream invites a few new names to the labels summer sampler season. alongside a few familiar ones too like lee burridge and lost desert with their much anticipated ‘absent without thoughts’. gab rhome and superlounge keeping it groovy. new music from new artists include budakid, phck and zone+, each one a unique flavor in dreamland.
russias premiere drum & bass export enei returns to close out 2015 with his eagerly awaited sophomore album, rituals. following up on his 2012 debut long player machines, enei shows off a defiantly more mature sound palette drawing influence from across the drum & bass spectrum from his trademark tech nasties through to the deep subliminals from an array of collaborators. with 15 new tracks on offer rituals is another triumph for an artist moving ever onwards, marking the start of eneis new chapter.
