massive uk techno / electro mover !! a teenage fascination with the outer reaches of contemporary music (beefheart, psychic tv, non, pharaoh saunders, the fall) and stints in various bands saw wright ditch the physics degree and return to york university to study music technology. by the start of 1992 he had made the jump from enthusiastic amateur to record his first tracks with john dalby in the local finsbury park studios in york under the guise of germ.

echocord colour is the new sublabel of echocord records. the first ep is made by arne weinberg aka onmuta mechanicks. the a-side is a deep powerfull 4 to the floor dubtechno track, and the bside is a more listening detroit influenced dubby track. arnes first 12inch, the >through the collonades< ep was released in early 2001 and gained some good reactions such as getting charted by laurent garnier. becoming far more influenced by deep electronic music arne began building his studio and his own musical style.

superb reissue of ron trent s all-time deep techno classic altered states. made when he was still school-age, and released in 1990 on armandos seminal warehouse label, this record was an immediate underground club hit, turning ron into a local hero, kickstarting his hugely successful production and djing career and making him probably the only chicago house producer to rate one of the best techno singles of all time! this classic acid workout is stunning in its simplicity and has been described as one of the most perfect and moving tracks ever heard. the other tracks are also very beautiful in their own right despite having been overshadowed by the epic altered states - the afterlife was included on dj hells x-mix-5. all tracks digitally remastered for superb sound quality
