the debut record of ritmolider kaleidoscope is a traditional studio work with live performance and classic analog sound. being in the era of nu disco and re edits the author has tried to find his own way of making music based on traditional methods of performance. and hes got a beautiful symbiosis of instrumental improvisations and electronic melodiousness. at the begining of the record theres a superb remix by the beat broker - deep, groovy synth disco, highly recomended for dancefloor! the second track is a journey into obscure psychedelic funk with lots of improvisations and atmospheric tunes....a pity so sweet percussions are added so late. b2 tonight at the discotheque will carry you away by the real soviet disco vibe. a beautiful arp solo softly flowing through amazing effects and acoustic drums focused on free played funky basslines. the original version of kaleidoscope is also a very interesting one. a mood of this composition is changed all the time. the first seconds of the track you hear a tender melodic solo which makes you feel calm and relaxed, then you get the groove coming from an agressive arpeggio and dinamic percussion. soon this feeling gets interrupted with a sudden slap bass impromtu playing together with a synthy accompaniment, and it turns into another feeling, and so on... this really reminds of kaleidoscope effect!

electric arguments is the first fireman album in 10 years, and this song based album couldnt be more different than its predecessors. for those who dont know by now, the fireman is a collaborative project between music icon paul mccartney and revered producer youth. the pair first worked together in the 90s when they made two ambient dance albums. originally the firemans identity was anonymous and was eventually revealed by the press as being paul and youth. in september it was announced that the fireman would this year release their first brand new material in a decade and this time there was a big difference - the duo had found their voice. speculation began, one studio insider was reported as saying the new songs sounds like arcade fire meets led zeppelin. certainly so far, anyone who has already heard the album has commented on just how accessible electric arguments is, compared to the first two fireman albums. this album is an eclectic and diverse collection of songs that show paul is still interested in pure musical possibilities. each track was written and recorded in the space of one day. the fireman went into the studio with no plan or clear direction of how they wanted the album to sound. the project took a life of its own and the results will surprise anyone expecting to hear the previous sound of the band.

berlin-based belgian producers sierra sam & marcus vector present the debut release of d.i.y. after 17 years of working together, tejada & leviste are back in the studio again putting their modular synths to good work. m tracks (m as in modular) features 4 analog workouts in varying styles. m track 1 features a melodic deep, yet driving track reminiscent of the duos best known work. m track 2 and 3 showcase a trackier sound focusing on basic elements while m track 4 turns in a much more experimental direction. the approach to this ep was a very fun, hands on process. analog sequencers are used to drive the various modular synths and their components. this process allowed for a more organic feel as the unstable electronics change over time as well as the manual changing of parameters over time. systems used include doepfer and frostwave sequencers, and modular systems consisting of cwejman, doepfer, harvestman and bananalogue modules. analog drum machines aided in the rhythms, however m track 3 was generated from pure modular hardware including the drums.
